So rarely is this ever discussed even though it's the main source for both velocity and control/accuracy. Almost the identical action happens when hitting bombs. Golf included. Thanks for sharing! The fun awaits!

This is why leg day is a top priority. Squats, deadlifts, lunges, and plyos! Get it!

Excellent video! What correlation is there for an athlete that lands with front foot open (RH pitcher front foot pointing toward LHH batters box) and lead leg energy leak. Is there a guideline as far as from foot, similar to front knee? Thanks

Thank you for this video! I have a question. Examples starting at 7:46 all have slightly different timing. 1st guy looks like he´s is helping himself to get into arm layback with Paw Back. So in his case the extension of the lead leg goes into layback of the arm and into throw last phase. But the second one has full layback of the arm fully cocked from stiff block and lead leg starts to extend only slightly before the ball release. And the 3rd guy extends the lead leg only into the last phase of the throw. Please - can you comment on that difference - is there preferable way for timing leg extension and what are the reasons for difference?

How far out should the lead leg land in front of the rubber & where should it land in relation to the back foot in order to put the lead leg in a position to stabilize/paw back?
@StrokeBall Жыл бұрын
How far out depends on each individual player and multiple factors specific to them. To name a couple: 1. Hip Adductor Length and Mobility 2. Distance in which the player can still effectively control and rotate the pelvis into front foot strike I recommended drawing a line straight down the mound from the pitchers toe and heal. I call this the “run way” and depending on how a player moves I usually have them land somewhere in this area. Where at specifically, depends on their ability to rotate and the overall sequencing of their body.
