Astoria Queens is/ was the biggest Greek community in America, and Gyros are pork throughout that neighborhood but sometime in the 70s every diner owned by Greeks started serving gyro made from a beef/ lamb mixture in Syrian style pocket pitas they sold like crazy and that's what most non- Greeks think a gyro is

However he is pronouncing it is annoying and he's trying too hard. If you speak English just say it in English. If you're speaking Dutch just say it in Dutch. But don't twist or collaborate the 2. Sounds like a Fool to me.

@@rich8381 If only you knew how stupid and ridiculous that statement was you would have never said it. Ofcourse I know he speaks Dutch you belated prick. I speak Russian, English, & Spanish. When i speak English to my friends I don't say "Borsh" as if it's pronounced in Russian. I say it the English way. Likwise when I speak Russian to my friends I don't pronounce "Tacos" the Spanish way. I only pronounce it the Spanish way when I'm speaking in Spanish.

Gyros: That G is the greek Gamma. It is pronounced like a soft g, g as in geek. Even if you pronounce it exactly like a g though, it will be better than pronouncing it like a ch, or a heavy h, the way you sound. The reason being that (h)yros sounds in Greek means a male pig.

You are pronouncing gyros incorrectly. Ha ha. It's not HR phlegm sound. It's much closer to YE like HEAR YE HEAR YE. YE-ROS. GYROS. Cheers.

Greek: γύρος. Romanized: gyros. Pronounced ˈʝiros. Sounds like: Yee ros (rolling the R). According to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).

Готвене с Георги in greece the g is pronounced often as a y so a lot of people pronounce it as yeeros or yeero which is the proper way but it can be pronounced properly with a h as it’s acc a really soft g to say the word and since a lot of English people struggle with that , it often comes out as a h sound

What happened between 5:10 and 5:20? The lump looks significantly different. Did you compress it? I know that some chefs cover it in plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge over night to even more homogenize the structure.
