We also have chicken Gyros , beside pork Gyros. One more fact . In your Pita with pork Gyros stamples are : tomatoes , fries , onions , Tzatziki In your Pita with chicken Gyros usualy it is served with : tomatoes , fries , Yogurt or yellow sauce , Lettuce or very thin sliced cabbage and carrot salad ( it is rare but it happens ) .

The original version of this horizontal way of Doner kebap is called “Cag kebap” and it is made from lamb. It is made in Erzurum territory - Turkey. And served with the metal sticks which called “shish”. And it is preffered to have as rolled in the special bread as “Durum”. The vertical version which is very well known in whole world is Doner kebap which is really Turkish. The meat is beef-lamb mixed or beef in Doner kebap. To crisp the outside, I was going to just go to up it to the higher flame. I will have to take the pan out from underneath so all the juices will drop into the burners. Should this still be ok as long as I clean it after? Thanks!

Gyros: That G is the greek Gamma. It is pronounced like a soft g, g as in geek. Even if you pronounce it exactly like a g though, it will be better than pronouncing it like a ch, or a heavy h, the way you sound. The reason being that (h)yros sounds in Greek means a male pig.
