i thank you very much for this extruder, i built it yesterday and im so happy, i used a different part cooling shroud tho, it was postet by some one on thingiverse under your extruder there, now i have so much better overhangs and overall the new extruder looks so cool, best feature is the fast access to the hotend, NO MORE problems with cleaning the bondtech gears and much easyer access to the filament sensor keep up the amazing work and cant wait for you to release the filament box

Thankyou! I thought about switching to the dragon hotend however because of the better heatsink cooling I decided to stick to the V6 but get brass copper plated heat block, A bi-metal heartbreak and a 50 watt heater cartridge + new thermistor and IKO bearings because I want to be able to reach at least 350C extruder temp (all these parts are from triangle labs) these should all replicate the dimensions of the V6, I will try to get the highest possible temp plastic to print the pitstop with, do you have any recommendations? or is it possible to print PC on a stock m3ks. cheers!
@MihaiDesigns
@MihaiDesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Cool! What kind of materials do you plan printing at 350? PEEK and the like? PC is probably the best affordable material for heat resistance. You might be able to print it on a stock extruder, but I expect permanent damage and parts melting at those temperatures.
@reality-builder7909
@reality-builder7909 3 жыл бұрын
@@MihaiDesigns My plan is to be able to at least print pure PC, I may look into the other filament types but PC looks more comforting to use than Peek or PEI, I think I will try to print the Pitstop extruder in the purest PC blend available for a higher temp resistance, I was initially going to do it in ABS because it is the lightest material available, petg is one of my favourite but it very heavy, heavier than PC.

@MihaiDesigns

@brianfoster7064
@brianfoster7064 3 жыл бұрын
@@MihaiDesigns it's a bed leveling sensor. Unlike the others, it is very small and doesn't require any off-sets. It straddles the filament tube above the hotend, but below any DD extruder. www.precisionpiezo.co.uk/product-page/precision-piezo-orion-kit
@Sembazuru
@Sembazuru 3 жыл бұрын
If you are looking for a replacement part cooling nozzle, check out the RHD nozzle. He designed this nozzle using airflow simulations to get good air flow at all directions around the nozzle. There was a long thread on the Prusa forums about the designing of this extruder. It does require a slightly different mounting angle for the fan (and comes with a replacement bracket for the stock Prusa extruder assembly). This might be a good candidate to remix for fit for your PitStop extruder. www.thingiverse.com/thing:4124587/files

what is the point to switch from PETG to ABS/ASA to printing pitstop,, original prusa is with petg and look good, pitstop use better cooling then should be also better with petg

PETG is generally fine if you aren't running your Prusa in an enclosure, but I did couple of back-to-back 3 day long prints in ABS using my Prusa and it warped the Extruder body (especially the PINDA mount) on my MK3s. I'm using the Bondtech BMG extruder now (their products are printed in Nylon using SLS) and I've had no such issues with ABS prints.
