Saving the ankh spoilers: you bomb the bottom of the idol room and hide underneath one of the platforms with a rope Bombing the bottom of the platform to leave only the topmost layer of it also helps A platform near the walls also helps

31:38 NL, what you're proposing some spelunkers achieved through lava dodging: Throw your bomb and stand over where the idol is. You want to capitalize over the bomb delay to ignite the whole ceiling. After your bomb goes off and some lava pour down you might get a chance to throw a rope and jump back from the lava curtain. It is not at all guaranteed, but it might work.

NL if you are reading, here is how you bomb the secret entrance to keep the ankh 1. Kill Monty (or get other corpse) 2. Get near the lava at the bottom 3. Attach bomb to corpse with paste 4. throw corpse into lava with bomb attached If done correctly, the body will float to the bottom of the lava with the bomb attached and blow it all to hell 5. POG UP

Just a little hint Northern, at 0:53 you can see a little stone with a few handprints on it (Right next to the spikes, under the wooden beam). If you blow up that area, you are more than guaranteed to find a secret entrance. Sometimes it is just a small hidey hole with a gem but it can also have a crate. That was a nice chance to get value out of that situation.

If we're talking about tide pool strats, sometimes a secret door is visible before you enter the idol area and if you bomb the right spot you can sneak back out through it before the lava gets you. It's rare, but it happened to you a few videos ago and worth looking out for.

you bomb the bottom of the idol trap room, so the lava goes lower and you can escape using ropes, a jetpack or climbing gloves at least that's how I've seen baer do it, they could have patched it sometimes there's also a hidden door to the back layer behind one of the blocks, so you can just trigger the trap and leave

Carefully surveying the area and pondering possible moves to save the ankh and still uncover the secret exit, taking the time to farm blood from and deposit Monty and then just forget to actually go through the secret exit, resign and "just" quickly beat the game the vanilla way is the most Northernlion and therefore the most POG play possible

The lava/ankh skip isn't trivial, but sometimes there is a secret door in the background that either gives another way out or can trigger the TNT from a safe spot, so that's at least worth it to check out the background layer in 4-3

@@captainufo4587 By using 2 bombs and 3 ropes at the right places you can destroy the ceiling in such a way that there will be some left by the end, protecting you from the lava. It's also much less dangerous to rope out after since the lava will be farther down.

@@captainufo4587 takes 4 bombs, use 2 to have a platform 2 blocks wide directly below 2 ceiling blocks then use 2 other bombs to bomb the far side of the tnt level on each side so the tnt falls down and exlodes on the ground and lava falls to either side

NL if you're going to try the ankh skip you should look up a tutorial. It's not self-evident, and there's a new one that people have discovered that is pretty resource-light. keep in mind also that you need verticality to pull it off--vlads is useful there too.

There's a few ways to cheese the challenge, but the "easy" way (that costs more resources) is to bomb out almost all of the floor when you are already under the lava. You probably need to bomb around 70% of the floor out minimum. Then cook a bomb to bomb out on of the lower blocks that is holding the idol. Then you put a rope under the platform (where you bombed out the lower block). If you have the jetpack you can just fly up to a platform or the exit, otherwise you'll need to place some ropes for you to hold onto so you can either make it to a platform or be able to make it to the wall to climb up if you have climbers. I'd say it's probably not worth doing unless you have a jetpack or climbers (as well as a lot of resources). There is a new method that uses only a few resources, but it arguably takes a bit more skill. Worth looking at a few vids to see how's it done, especially if you plan on doing the end end game

NL if you want to avoid death on 3-3 you need to bomb UNDERNEATH the trap. The floor itself So that the lava that fall from the roof has enough space to pool down underneath you While the plataform on which the idol rests covers you from the lava from above (you need to cling to its underside with ropes)
