To anwser that, I'd say you can't use it because academic language has its norms. Language constantly evolves, that's is correct but it doesn't evolve in all its norms. It may be acceptable to be used in a casual manner, but that doesn't mean it will be accepted everywhere. And I mean by the people in general not by anyone in particular.

There is actually something you can do to prevent the drill from angering a shopkeeper. You can just not use it and instead bomb your way to the bottom provided you have enough bombs. This is also a reasonable strategy to salvage a run where you missed the Udjat eye.

On Nl's comment on the use of Poggers inside and outside of the context of Twitch. One could argue in a foucaultian analysis of Twitch as a separate field of power, that navigating this field, which for viewers is based on textual interaction - a subject can affirm their insights into the workings of said field, by applying language specific to that social sphere - and therefore be recognized as possessing solid experience in the power dynamics of interaction on Twitch. However using the same language out of that context can imply (if the recipient recognizes the word at all), a lack of awareness of the social codes of that specific interaction, outside of the field of power where it carries meaning. Eg a heart surgeon saying Poggers, might imply that they lack social awareness, and in a lot of situations that doubt of their social skill, could extend to a doubt in other parts of their mental acumen on the side of the recipient. This is why Poggers in a lot of ways still is contained within the specific field in which it carries both significance and adds to the perceived power of the individual using it.

11:50 - the real answer to the question is "where the hell is the denominator meant to be here?". There are puzzles that show things like "1-over-2 x" and people interpret it as "half of X" (because the 1 is only over the 2) and others see it as "1 divided by 2x". They use the division sign to add confusion, and don't use brackets/parenthesis clearly enough to avoid the ambiguity. If you can change the fraction to a decimal, the answers will be the same. But knowing where that denominator is meant to end is the problem.

The most useful convention for order of operations in math is to evaluate addition and subtraction on the same "layer", and multiplication and division on the same "layer", because subtraction is the same as adding a negative number, and division is the same as multiplying by a fraction. You finally talked about an issue that makes me want to comment. Order of operations is a consequence of the definition of what the operations represents. Multiplication is repeated addition, so 3 + 4 * 5 is 3 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 or 3 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5. It isn't just an agreed upon convention, PEMDAS just describes a way to honor the definition of the operations. It is possible to use the definitions of the operations to "violate" PEMDAS and still have a correct and valid answer.
