I think part of the reason the internet is more rude is the barrier to entry is "lower". Not really lower, but a lot more people are on the internet from all demographics. So I believe as more toxic people have gone onto the internet, they've become the loud minority. And it's a positive feedback loop of other people not wanting to interact online because of the toxic environment. So the toxic loud minority becomes a larger percentage of those who actually interact online. I also agree with your point that the toxic environment has converted some people into becoming toxic as well

As much as I love temple path, it doesn't have anything to make up for the fact that it's just way harder that tide pool. Teleporting Crocs, and losing your back item in the city of gold is just sad. If they let you keep your back item and the scepter, I'd do Duat path every time.

It does have something to make up for it. A bomb box in duat at 24-31 favour and a secret item that helps in the real last world. You can always leave your back item at waddler at Olmec and get it back in the ice caves. I see no problems there.

But I'll need better players to let me know if it's consistent or not. The 👽 🧭 great even on ice caves, but for people still trying kill HunDun it's use in the cosmic ocean isn't relevant. I still think it could use some balancing.

The bit about how the internet is awful now hit so close to home. Internet culture now is so full of kids being taught that being rude is 'funny' and adults searching for excuses to hurt others and feel justified about it instead of guilty. :\ The illusion of anonymity is one helluva drug, especially on social media. After growing up with my happiest memories being internet-derived, these days I find myself desiring more and more to distance myself from this digital hellhole and exist more offline, but internet addiction is difficult to shake. That point about animals is so on point lmao. Animals =/= Humans in terms of intellect and treating animals, especially pets, as if they have the same emotional intelligence as human beings is at best unhelpful and at worst (can be) abusive. I've known people that treat the natural instincts of their pets as some sort of personal quirk and therefore a slight against the pet-owner (like a cat being bored and throwing things on the floor as some sort of protest from the cat, therefore being punished for it).
