I actually have a theory about why the kids have invisibility/force shield and super speed. Mr. Incredible has super strength, so super strong genes, and Elastigirl has super elastic ones, so when combined you get: -Invisibility: with cells so elastic they basically stretch so much they let light through but strong enough to get back to normal -Super Speed: with Dash's legs being super strong so they can move really fast but also with flexibility so they don't burn when going fast It's dumb, but hey it's what I find a reasonable explanation q:

Added evidence: There's a deleted opening scene where Syndrome invades the Incredibles' home soon after Violet is born and when Syndrome discovers that the Incredibles had a kid, he wags his finger at Mr. Incredible and says, "you're breaking the law, Mr. Incredible. You know Supers aren't supposed to breed." If your theory is correct, this implies that the government knew the super gene could be passed on once activated and enacted a law that prevented that from happening...probably for crowd control and so there weren't any unchecked and untrained Supers running around. After the Supers retired, the government could have backed off on that law, allowing Supers to breed as long as their powers were kept secret or something.

So were several countries doing this and possibly experimenting on children?

The first position you take in this video is incorrect. The reason society didn't come to pieces after all the supers retired, is because a lot of supers continued to do their thing undercover. Best theory I’ve heard about the incredibles yet honestly. One additoval detail that fits your theory is that in the original script, there was a subplot about how it was made illegal for supers to procreate. This could be because as you said, lack of proper training and discipline would make them a threat and could also explain why in the super agency audio files bonus content, Frozone describes his powers first manifesting by age 2. He was the first case of two supers having a child also with powers and causing the government to crack down on it. Jack Jack is another prime example of a clearly over powered risk factor; very reminiscent of Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four (who the Incredibles were CLEARLY based on) who in early childhood manifested powers to literally manipulate reality itself by sheer force of will; a veritable living god.

Here's an idea: The Super Hero program started by the government in the movie was actually a response to the Communist rise during the Cold War that would have occured during that time period. The villains are actually the Soviet response to the Super Hero program, however the soviets couldn't recreate the super abilities. Thus the soviets fund non-super groups to counter the Supers through non-direct means: Espionage, Guerilla Warfare, and Terrorism. After the fall of the Soviet Union (1980's) the supers return to America as there is no country left to fight with the over-kill of super hero's. With the fall of the Soviet Union people like Bomb Voyage, an individual who apparantly has tangled with Mr. Incredible on multiple occasions and has gotten away frequently enough (Due to soviet anti-hero training?) these agents run rampant and the hero's are used to tamp down the massive jumps in crime during the late 1980's crime rate hikes. Now Mirage never specified what govt. funded them. Or that they even told the truth. How likely is it that Syndrome, a non super, was funded by the remnants of Communist regimes across the world to continue to pursue the Super Powers program now that they have eliminated all the hero's who had ensured the initial fall of Communism? Or that they simply re-initiate the arms race with the militarized ICBM styled robots used to invade America?

in the pixar theory, it says that the incredibles is set in the 1960s. what happened in circa 1960? (fanfare) The Cold War, and therefore the Cuban Missile Crisis so my theory is that the two Superpower of America (see what I did there? ;) ) created the supers by giving superpowers to the best Secret Service agents and Special Forces soldiers to use them as spies behind enemy lines to A: Distract communist guerillas at home and abroad, and eliminate high-ranking officials in Communist goverment parties (e.g. Communist governmets and Communist left-wing parties abroad in places like Europe or Asia) deemed a threat to America, or eliminate specific communist guerilla/parties through the use of stealth (explaining why Mrs and Mr incredible can see the same weaknesses in an enemy's structure, and can infiltrate a heavily defended base) B: as spies c: as a mobile, highly trained special forces squadto assist the army if a full scale war broke out but since the cuban missile crisis ended, and america never had to go to war. the supers were kept as a squad, but in order not to go rusty and forget how to use their powers, the american government authorised them to fight crime. and that's my take on this theory.

The Incredibles Conspiracy | The Super Power Theory by Jon Solo
@Connor_Tyler8 жыл бұрын
Part of the bonus features on the first Incredibles DVD was a database on all the supers mentioned in the movie, and each one had a little bio, some personal details, and a short audio file from the super in question. Frozone mentions that he discovered his powers when he was a kid, when he had a glass of Kool Aid and "really wanted a Popsicle". So, what? Did the government give Frozone ice powers when he was a little kid just on the off chance he wanted to be a superhero when he grew up?
@TheJuicebear8 жыл бұрын
It could be possible that the kids don't have any knowledge of the Supers being authorized and controlled by the government.

Y'know... When Bob loses his job and that government agent has to help him relocate, it sounds like a pretty lengthy and expensive process. If we're assuming that each superhero family has their own escort and that they also have trouble controlling themselves (which is pretty likely, they've gone through extensive training and have been in enough bad situations to give them all PTSD- its unlikely that they just switched that part of themselves off and settled down into suburban life) that's got to be costing the government loads of money- and, seeing as they're breeding, it's going to keep costing them loads of money until the superhero gene has been fully bred out. So, if somebody offered to get rid of them and replace the whole superhero experiment with machines that could be switched off when you didn't need them, why wouldn't they jump at the chance? At no point does suit guy say "hey Bob! A lot of my colleagues have had their superhero clients vanish- watch out for that!"

I thought about the same thing and when I saw the second movie I was kinda disappointed that this theory wasn’t correct because it makes sense and gives a little more mature vibe. Then I thought, (with deleted scenes where Syndrome says supers breeding is illegal) the supers from the second movie could be the children of the first supers, who laid low because of the law and maybe they fleed to another country. After that, everything sort of fell into place. I hope I was helpful!

How about this one. The incredibles exists in an alternate MCU timeline where the US government figures out how to recreate the Captain America serum, and even takes it a bit further with other powers. The timeline lines up, takes place in the 50s and 60s, less than 20 years after Captain America went in the ice. Also syndrome almost seems to have hydra-esque technology.

I very much doubt this as possible. Let's start with the most obvious problem, the variety of super powers. If we assume your government did manage to create superhuman abilities and grant them to people, and let's even pretend you wouldn't immediately use them for warfare, why would they bother giving people different combinations of powers? Wouldn't a uniform power be far simpler, or perhaps squads, each with different abilities for different tasks? No, my belief is that it functions similar to the infamous mutants in XMen, it's a genetic advantage each person has, granting them different powers, unique to the person themselves. Going from Jack Jack, it's clear these abilities manifest from infancy, but according to Helen (or "Elastigirl"), they assumed Jack Jack was actually not a Super, implying he developed his powers late, odd, considering he's too young to stand or even speak beyond gurgles and cries. If superpowers manifested at birth or near thereof, as it seems to be the case, it'd be easy to keep track of everyone who has them, just jot it down in that person's government records. Thus, should supervillains show similar traits to the file, it's a simple matter to track them down. Who has powers and who doesn't is, of course, private records, and once the US outlawed vigilantism, any supervillain trying to rise up would be immediately dealt with, let's be honest. Maybe send in a super or three in secret, and the message would spread soon enough. No more costumes. As for "Syndrome", he wasn't exactly subtle, and likely people up top were pushing to shut him down, but needed proof, which the attack provided, allowing them to push the button, as it were.
@katerinaluv28068 жыл бұрын
Adrian Lee maybe the super powers that people get, are based on their genes, and how they react to "being activated"
@AdrianLeeGod8 жыл бұрын
That wouldn't really make sense, from a genetic standpoint. If everyone, or even only certain people, had the gene, and it needed to be activated, surely other governments would catch on and start copying the experiments for warfare, like America would most certainly do. No, if America, no, *any* country found a way to make super soldiers, they'd abuse it for warfare faster than you could say human rights. It has to be natural, as every character acts as if being "super" is predetermined from birth. Then, as super humans vanished from the spotlights, people forgot, or assumed they were all isolated or prevented from using said powers. Pixar loves realism in their stories (magic/supernatural aside), so I think this is the only likely situation.

It could be a situation like in Deadpool where everyone reacts differently to having their super-power genes activated giving everyone different powers

Well, it isn't really all that far fetched considering the way that a lot of Marvel super heroes got their powers from. You guessed it. Gene manipulation and experimentation. For example: The hulk, Spiderman, Deadpool. Even in other comic companies as well. The flash, Dr.Manhattan, The fantastic 4. It's highly possible genetic makeup could decide what powers you get if they are forced to "Activate."

To be honest, I would disagree with this theory. If you look at the “Secret super hero files” in disc 2 of incredibles 1, Frozone explains how as a child he was drinking Kool aid (he actually says this in the special feature) and was thinking that it would be cool if he could have frozen Kool Aid (or a popsicle) and then it froze in his hand. In the movie the reason the “Supers” are well trained is because they work FOR the government, which is why the incredicar/incredobile/incredimobile/incredibile is government owned. The super heroes aren’t on their own, they joined an initiative BECAUSE of their abilities.

Boo from Monsters Inc. got a sneak peak from beyond the doors and created a fictional persona for herself named E-DNA (extraterrestrial DNA) based on something she saw on a fancy screen. Later on when she got older she named her Woody doll "Y-dna" as a joke/homework assignment, - which her grandson got named after. She became an expert in the Super-program because she knew the true origin of their genetic blessings. She fell out of favor with the government because she saw the supers as friends instead of threats. Once she got booted by the government she had to hide her real name Mary Gibbs and used her childhood imaginary name "EDNA Monster Detective" (Marie "E" Mode) instead as a nod to the genetic mutants she saw as friends. She also transformed her childhood hobby of drawing into a successful designer carreer, - allowing her to make uniforms capable of resisting government weapons (which she had helped design herself). EDNA is the mother of Syndrome and inspired his early fandom for Mr. Incredible. Syndrome felt that his mother betrayed him by siding with Mr. Incredible after being ignored by him, and started working with the government (EDNA's old job) as a revenge against both Bob and Mary Gibbs (mother). There's also a possibility that Bob and Helen adopted Violet from Edna as a means of hiding her from the government (explaining their particularly close connection with Edna and Syndrome) The government could also specifically have targeted supers that tried to have children as a means of eradicating E-dna (Syndromes job assignment). A messed up theory that ties up nicely.
