It would be interesting, but time consuming. I doubt using chemicals is an option assuming we want the phone to survive. It wouldn't look like an iPhone, It'll look like the unanodized aluminum in the mid-frames of most smartphones

Liked the video, I have a Pixel 2 XL, screen shaded after 2 days (hadn't even used to make a call yet) my 10 month old dropped a TV remote on it from about 10-20cm on the rounded edge whilst on charge at my bed side. Question/Feedback: Some sorted screen durability testing for impacts would be great to see in another video!

Looking up how much headphone jacks costs, headphone jacks are not even a dollar. Money is *not* the issue in terms of costs of manufacturing the phone. Profit would only be a goal for only Apple, as they get royalties for their lightning ports. There is no reason for Android phones to not have a headphone jack, other than the space they take up in phones. Not thickness, but internal space for the other components of the phone.

It's not about the price of the jack itself although if you made millions of phones without it it can give you some cash, it's about forcing the makers of the audio accessories make their product with the lightning connector which is a patent owned by? So glad this video is up cause after owning the XL for a while now I definitely thought it was good quality hardware wise. The phone feels rigid and I was wondering if it would bend. During some Minor Bend tests I ran to just see if I could get some flex (not to break it) I got zero bend which was good. and despite that coating it feels better in my hand than last year's Pixel XL. Still slippery but with just a small noticeable difference in grip that I like.

So far, I think the burn test is already useful in that it indicates which displays recover from heat exposure. In real world incidents, I've seen people put their phone on a heater to support it while it charges. The heater may have been off when the phone was perched on it, but a second person decides they're cold and turns the heater on, without thinking to check what's on top of it first. I've seen phones stored somewhere which has gotten _really_ hot before. I have to assume they weren't hot when the phone was put there.

I received the 2 XL for Black Friday and I have to say that I really like it. Works smoothly, the camera is great, and I have encountered none of the problems that are often encountered by other Pixel 2 users. With that said, I think it is a horrible tactic to not include a headphone jack in the phone. It is a big "fuck you" to Pixel fans and would discourage many people from purchasing the phone. I have seen many comments mocking Apple's money-grubbing scheme to not include a headphone jack, and I certainly expect there to be just as many comments from die-hard Android fans about Google's choice to not include it. I almost always use wireless headphones to listen to music/audio on my phone, so Google's decision doesn't affect me severely. My headphones' battery doesn't last forever however, and I always bring a pair of wired headphones in case the wireless ones die. I don't want to worry about keeping/bringing a dongle just so I can listen to music.
