@ghanamankofi This is Google's moment to capture the mid-range market like Motorola did about 5 or 6 years ago with the Moto g. It's all the best qualities and user experience of the more expensive pixels for half the price. Compromises of course had to be made but they are balanced very well I think. The polycarbonate body when you first see it looks premium and feels solid in your hand. Shiny edges and around back on top with matte finish on the bottom like it's flagship siblings. I have the regular 3a for a week now and this phone has been a joy to use. I enjoyed it more the more I used it. Will see how longevity plays out. Hopefully these do well.

I have the Galaxy 8+ and I don't like the edge to edge to edge to edge screen. I have no room to rest my fingers or any part of my hand without triggering a function by mistake. I have to place the 8+ in the palm of my hand in order to use it properly. Bezel-less screens are a design flaw as far as I'm concerned. I had a Motorola Pure X before the 8+ and $600 later and 1 year of use I am still unhappy that I switched to a flagship Galaxy phone. I'm going with the semi-bezeled Pixel 3A XL!

I own both of these, I constantly speed test both. Of course my S10+ is faster but not by much. The 670 with Google's software works admirably. The one thing I've noticed is portrait shots the 3a does a bit better. But the S10 has many more features, the super steady mode and the videos are much better. I got the 3a XL for 4oo.oo tax included. I highly recommend this phone to anyone. At that price it's 4oo.oo well spent. It's a very fun phone. Very good review!

It's the overall user experience of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. It's quite a good phone and that haptic feedback you get when typing is better than anything in this price range. Just like the more expensive pixels. The pixel 3a and 3a XL just might be for Google what the Moto g was for Motorola...and at the time the g came out, Motorola was in the hands of Google.

Unfortunetaly i dont think they will, its a change in the look and samsung only redesigns every 2 years, maybe in a budget phone first, it would be awesome tho!

The light weight of plastic alone makes it the choice for me. Glass on flagships nowadays are too thick and heavy. It sacrifices durability for premium feel. So no matter how tough a glass is, glass always breaks upon impact. Especially when your phone weighs over 200gram. Pixel 3a = 147 gram, i could go for a super tough armor case which ends up 160-170 gram, still very light and great for one handed use. Galaxy s10 plus and other glass flagship = 175 gram - 200 gram, if you go for heavy case it becomes 200-250 gram, but when you go for light casing = you lose the protection. So yeah, i used iphone 11 with armor case = 250gram, trust me, not easy to handle even with two hands. It felt even heavier inside my pants. And s10 plus has curved display = thicker case and more expensive screen protection glass for replacement often.

The Pixel 3a will probably slow down way before the S10. It may have cleaner software and better support but the mid-range chipset and 4Gbs of RAM don't bode well for long-term use.

I’ve been using an iPhone SE just fine with 64gb. I decided to switch to Pixel 3a as I miss Android, it has same 64gb, and it’s being updated together with security for next three years. So I’m comfortable with it. If you need more space and better specs, then this phone wasn’t meant for you. It was marketed for anyone else with moderate needs.

@@meritosagie4394 I just got a pixel 3 XL and let me tell you, it still glitches here and there than my old s9 plus on one UI (very smooth and faster). Only reason I got the pixel is because of the camera. The Samsung camera sucks in decent to low light (very soft, lack of detail, slow shutter speed makes it hard to take pictures with the slightest movement of your hands or the subject which results in blur). The Samsung phone did everything I wanted. It had a secure folder which I used a lot for private pics and since I have two Facebook accounts, Samsung pay works EVERYWHERE and was convenient at grocery stores other than me fidgeting through my wallet. Edge panel was good for extra apps that I use rather than me having multiple pages on the home screen. Also this current pixel is my second pixel 3 XL as Google sent me one with battery problems (it would die at 10%) so then had to send me a new one.

And the only compromises are wireless charging, waterproofing, and a slight dip in performance for a phone nearly half the price. Plus you get a headphone jack. For users with a case, build quality isn't an issue either. (Besides glass breaks). Not to mention you get the best camera in any phone for a fraction of a flagship price

I am a samsung fan. Until I got my 3a.. now I won't lie. I still want a s10. Last samsung I bought was the s7. Had it 4 years . But the 3a does so much I cannot justify the 700 for the s10. . Plus I know the 3a gets better battery life. Samsungs just run in the background no matter what you do to the settings. The pixel last 24 hours longer on a single charge . I do miss water resistance though.

For me the 3a XL is actually superior because it has an uninterrupted, perfectly symmetrical screen. Remember when we all took for granted that our devices would come with an undamaged screen out of the box? It used to be that we didn't have to put up with imperfections in our screens until AFTER we had dropped and cracked the glass. Now, with notches and hole punches, you get to experience the joy of living with a messed up screen right from day 1. Seriously, how is a notch or hole punch any different than living with a cracked screen or dead pixels? In both instances, you get used to it, but the imperfection is always there, just waiting to be noticed.

The S10+ is my daily but guess what my backup is? The 3a XL, do I like it? Yes absolutely the camera is excellent. To be honest it takes better portrait shots than my 1,ooo.oo S10+, there I said it. Of course I luv my S10 but I paid 4oo.oo bucks for the XL including tax. For the $$ with the XL your getting a very good phone, android10 with stock android. I highly recommend it. By the way on average I get 7hrs SOT which ain't too shabby!

Samsung's one handed mode.... what's the effin' point to have a large phone, just to shrink the screen down to what is maybe the original iphone screen if not smaller?!?! Now you are looking at a small image of the app with a bunch of black bars around it.... !?!?! makes no freaking since. I guess it's okay to shrink down real quick to then push maybe one button that's hard to reach!?

Lol a status... i admit its ridiculous to pay as much as we do for phones, but i bought my s9+ for 200 less at 600 unlocked on walmart.com and hooked it to boost. They gave me so much shit trying to hook it up i tried to switch and get them to release my number. Long story short they made it right by lower my bill to 40 a month unlimited everything and i omly paid 600 got my phone. Cant beat that. As for a status... i utilize my phone to its full extent

prices of flagship devices went so ridiculously high because people keep buying them, the last year or so there were many budget and medium price devices that were launched, things will start to change in the near future, it wont make sense anymore to buy a 1000+ phone when there will be a stiff competition coming from lower tier phones

The only reason to buy a Pixel over f.ex. the A70 is the camera, those bezzzzzels just belong in the past. You could of course be anti-Bixby like me and buy f.ex. a MI 9 with Muuuuuhhh-UI, much faster and good looking phone with a slightly worse camera. Me? I would wait for the Pocophone F2, it´s rumored to come with a spaceship that takes you to Venus.

Regardless of anything. The 3a XL looks like it's been beaten with an ugly stick. The front of the phone is atrocious. I'm not saying the S10 is worth the extra money. But the asthetics of the Google are unbearable. Amazing Camera and that's it. Otherwise It feels Jurassic.
