Great video!. Love Pixels...I'm actually waiting for Pixel 4 this fall. I wish it will be even better especially in hardware....the main mistery for me about Pixel 4 is how they will implement the front camera/s. Right now for the price I would go for Pixel 3a. Great overall smartphone.

Pretty interesting since early non-direct comparisons made me think the new 3a was noticeably better. Your direct comparisons make the 3 XL look slightly better overall in all aspects and audio. I think maybe because it can shoot easier at a closer range. Still many shots look virtually identical.

I read the comments and I see some people saying that the three Excel look better but I had a 3XL and I have a 3AXL now and I feel like they look the same to me unless I'm not paying attention correctly?

I believe that an important difference is in the videos .. I believe that the 3a has the same problem as the 2 with 1080p at 60fps, or indecent, while the 3 should maintain that of the 30fps, even if no one has confirmed it to me yet

I know that the video difference are the fluidity and the stabilization and the quality at 60 FPS (better in pixel v3) but in your test they are identical.. i don't understand.. One my question is: the quality at 60 FPS is the same at 30fps? Because with pixel 2 at 60 FPS is terrible

Yeah, I got hooked by the clickbait thumbnail :) Both phones produce similar great results, the senior model is slightly ahead in daylight pictures with more popping and warmer colors, but some will like the junior for producing the more "naturalistic" (or dullest) photos. I like the junior pictures at night, its colors are more delightful, and as you said, the selfie game is a gamble, both can produce the better result, you just don't know when they will produce it. For videos, the senior wins by its superior sound quality

it would make sense to release a 4a at the same time witht he Pixel 4. Personally I would be happy with just a 4a with a somewhat higher price but a better screen. My main issue with the 3a xl is the screen...just not bright enough

The 3XL does have an ever so slight edge over the 3a XL in all situations - and since they have the exact same camera I can only conclude that the 3a XL's camera has been "dumbed down" deliberately just a bit to protect their more expensive model.

yea I agree, its small details but the pixel 3 definitely takes better photos. The pixel 3 has a slightly better processor then the 3a so its most likely that and not the actual camera.

There is not such thing as having a better processor will help you getting better pictures. The 3xl display is a little bit crisper ( not the photos/camera ) use common sense, hope this helped you. Got the 3a xl and I'm 100% happy with it, amazing phone.

The 3 have a Pixel Visual Core which the 3a lacks. Yes processing can make a big difference in the photo quality.

Pixel 3 has a bit more richer colors than Pixel 3a. Probably due to Visual Core 2 chip. Night shots are very close but Pixel 3 has a bit more detail and Pixel 3a has a bit more blown out shots. Audio better on Pixel 3.

the HTC 10 is very good. So dont be disappointed. It has a slightly bigger sensor then Pixel 2/3. It is the same sensor that the original Pixel has.

yes, if you look at daylight shots with shadows. youll see the details in shadows in 3a XL is better than 3 XL, 3 XL was like it was too dark you cant see the details anymore.

I think the conclusion is, that if you are only buying a Pixel phone for its camera, it's pointless to spend more than 2x the price for the 3XL. There isn't a single soul who's gonna say "hey, you took those with a 3aXL and not the 3XL ! " Same goes backwards. If you already have a pixel 3 or 3XL, don't bother buying the cheaper one, you aren't gaining anything, but loosing wireless charging, bigger battery, speaker quality.
