@@algeriapower7242 The battery life has a lot to do with how you using the phone. My 4XL with forced 90hz refresh rate screen on it will go from 80% to 40% in 4 hours. I will then charge the phone back to 80% in 35 minutes.

I still use my Pixel 4 as a daily. Although I am looking to change this year. I think you nailed this look back at the phone. It had many attributes that meant it could potentially still be viable running today's software, but was hugely hampered by a very poor battery life and to a lesser extent storage capacity. Another big plus for me is the relatively compact size.

Sold my Pixel 4 when the 6 came out. Miss that phone to bits but I couldn't deal with what was the worst battery I'd ever experienced on a phone. The new phones feel like they last forever in comparison.

@jasper aj It no longer qualifies for further android updates or security updates, which could be a risk depending on what you use it for. And given the already undersized battery will suffer wear and tear on any used Pixel 4 you buy, you need to go into it knowing that you will be charging it once or even twice during the day, before evening. The face unlock has worked well for me. Only chucked its toys out of the pram once a year.

Using my 4xl for 2 years straight. Gotta say I love this phone! All things are great for me. Put it through hell and still runs and feels as brand new💪 Google should have given one or two more android updates. This device is capable more than enough for it. Hope to use it till end of its life

I still use my 4XL and was even offered a 1 year extended warranty so last year google sent me a refurbished version. I have yet to find a device that offers anything that much better than my 4XL. For reference in our household we have a S21 Ultra and iPhone 14. I still prefer my pixel. I use my radar while listening to Spotify, it's faster than picking up the phone, it's not perfect but I appreciate it. I share your sentiment and the facial recognition is so much nicer. I love a flat screen and hate accidentally touching the edge of a screen and having to go back or start something over. During the pandemic I used my 4XL to run a photo shoot with my kids and the aid of a cheap Bluetooth shutter button from Amazon. Everyone wanted to know who did my photos, it was fun telling them it was my cell phone. I personally love the asthetic of pixel photos and especially the 4XL. I am actively shopping for a new device as I worry about the memory and lack of support, but it's been on going for 2 years and still nothing has swayed me. Thanks for the video, this was great!!

I really like my Pixel 4. Perfect size for my hands, and it's the only Android phone that has a truly face ID, like Apple has. I'm on my 3rd Pixel 4 phone. Bought the first one in 2019. Somehow i managed to find online a brand new sealed Pixel 4, in 2023, and bought it. It's sad that Google dropped the support for this phone😢

I'm not talking about 3D face scanner. I'm talking about IR 3D Secure Face ID. This one is almost perfect. Works in the dark and it's very fast when unlocking the phone. And yes, it's not the only Android phone with it...Samsung S9 lineup had the Note 9 with IR Face ID, but not the proper size.

I loved my Pixel 4 XL, but out of all the Pixels I have owned, (2XL, 3XL, 6 Pro, 7 Pro) this has been the only one that gave me a problem. The issue was with the battery, I received a message from Google saying that they were going to replace my phone battery, and when I got it replaced the phone kept on freezing until it just stopped turning back on. Either way, I really enjoyed it, so glad that Google didn't gave up on this Pixel line, my new 7 Pro it's just simply amazing.

Used mine last summer, having kept it as a spare, when my 6pro had to go for repair due to something rattling inside it. Had no issues with the old 4xl at all and took some great holiday snaps. No, had one issue when it shut down due to overheating but that was because temps were getting ridiculously high in Oregon at the time.

I'm glad I got a Pixel 6 at launch. Aside from the buggy first few months, it's a solid phone whilst having a playful Pixel look, especially when compared to what I think a quite sterile Pixel 7 design and colour range. I'd love to see Google take a few things from the Pixel 4 into upcoming phones such as the colourful standby button, the fabric cases and the squeeze function - which looked quite fun to use. I'm very happy I got a Pixel with a two tone colour with the sort of seaform greenish/yellow, which reminds me of the Pixel 1 & 2. More of those please Google, and I will be a returning customer!

Pixel 4 XL is what actually made me a Pixel fan, before I was a huge OnePlus fan, but I wanted to try something different. I tried the 4 XL and have stayed with Pixels since then I had the 6 and currently have the 7, so in hindsight I'm glad I gave Pixel a try.

Those pictures, wow! Honestly they look better than P7 Pro. Really feels like when Marc Levoy left Google, right after Pixel 4 line, camera stop progressing, even took a step back, Marc was responsible for all the camera computational engineering and all this known Google Camera "magic".

Yeah, It feels like everything Levoy was responsible for turned out to be a top-notch solution for Pixel cameras, he really did things that would benefit in favor to the pixel. Today's new features by Google feel like a half-baked useless solutions, take a look how cinematic mode works on Pixel 7's, the blur doesn't change it's intensity no matter what you do (whether you step back or forth to the subject) which is not now a real blur works (which they are trying to stimulate). The point is that Mark would probably not allow these disasters to even release at the state they're in right now...

I own a Pixel 4 XL. It's running on Android 13. I love the face detection/unlock. I turned off the silly radar on day one. The RAM and the storage are adequate. The battery life is good. I always keep the battery between 40% and 80%. Charge at about 45%. Stop at 75%. Always have a charger or two ready at home, office, and car. My only gripe is the screen. I wish the screen could be brighter. The 90hz refreshing rate is fine. I expect to keep using this phone as a daily driver for the next several years.

Man..4a is still one of the best I still have..the size the screen the shots,but when I broke the screen for the second time, the 250€ asked for repair gave the opportunity to bye the pixel 6 on a second hand deal. I think pixel 4 gave Google the return point in Europe... Keep it going 👍🏻

I still love my Pixel 4XL to bits and using it on a daily. Battery life is still holding up alright since 2019 as I charge to 100% using slow charger mostly while this is last Pixel phone to have unlimited Google storage but only on High Quality. Guess all of us will be very sad knowing that the Pixel 4 processor + Neural Core is definitely at least 30% more powerful than those Pixel phones that comes after it which will be getting Android 14. Guess Google owe Pixel 4 owners for the half baked technology implementation. We will definitely miss it as this is the last phone made by Marc Levoy the man behind Pixel HDR camera and we are still awaiting for that night shot if it is possible on any Pixel phone at the Golden Gate Bridge.

Still using my 4XL. Though about 18 months ago google sent me a refurbished 4XL because of potential battery issues. So it's not the exact same phone I bought. I think it's aged pretty well. Photos taken on a family member's 7pro do look somewhat better and I've considered an upgrade due to this and wanting better battery life. Still waiting for a proper face unlock on a newer pixel. I think the 4xl's one is great. I will miss the squeeze function but maybe an extra customisable button to do the same would be good. So we'll see what the pixel 8 holds.

Just 2 days ago my Galaxy S22 suddenly switched off and stopped working (no idea how that's even possible but it happens) and I gave it to service. In the meanwhile I borrowed my friends old Pixel 4 (I had one too but sold it long ago) and I'm shocked how good it works. I can barely see performance difference between this device and my S22, except for 1.5 hour SoT. I really think Pixel 4 was the only Google phone till date that was created with intention of being truly flagship and different. I will consider slapping new battery to it and just keeping it.

Love both the Pixel 4 and 5. Unique, fun (Remember Pokemon wallpaper in Pixel 4?), and oozing with great character. Newer ones have great designs but don't have the same fun and friendly feeling that the older ones give. Pixels used to have great stock wallpapers and some of the best live wallpapers out there. Sad they dropped the ball recently.

The back glass separation was caused due to shitty adhesive for the back glass. I went through 3 back when it was still under warranty. The battery was fine on all of them.

4 is my favourite. The matte back glass, the telephoto instead of ultra wide camera, forehead taller than chin not vice versa. Flashed LineageOS and swapped a new battery, good as new! My only regret is that I didn’t buy the 128GB version.

I have a pixel 7, but I upgraded from the pixel 4. I miss my pixel 4. A lot of people didn't like it, but I thought it was a really good phone. The motion sense was really cool. The face recognition was outstanding. It worked in low light, & in the dark. ( I really wish that Google would have used the same facial recognition that they had used in the pixel 4, & put it in the pixel 7.) What I really miss the most is the active edge feature. Don't get me wrong. The pixel 7 is a great phone. I really like it, but the pixel 4 will always be one of my favorites.

My pixel 4 still rocks and use it regular. I also still have my pixel 2, 5, 6a and 7pro. Dropped the 7pro other day with a Spigen case on and slight crack screen now bottom right corner 😢 but phones I use regular are the 4 5 and 7pro but love the size of the 4. And the face unlock on the 4 is awesome. Don’t know why they got rid of it. Bring it BACK GOOGLE!

Even though my Pixel 4XL has a slightly popped off glass back it still works perfectly, the hardware has not slowed down at all, I've also as of a few months switched to grapheneOS, and it's software experience is still awesome. In terms of aesthetics I've always believed that the Pixel 4XL is the best looking pixel phone, I can't stand the pixel 6 & 7's design.

It was a good device. Face ID worked great. Battery life wasn’t great but was ok. The back coming off had to do with the constant spring pressure from contacts inside. I noticed this when changing the battery out. Even with a new battery (not swollen) the contacts from the circuit board to the back were necessarily under pressure, making it hard to reliably secure the back with adhesive. An unfortunate design flaw

I had a 4XL, and I thought it was a great phone. The only real complaint I had was the lack of a fingerprint sensor. I got it on launch day and got used to it, but shortly after the pandemic happened. It would always fail with my mask on and it was very frustrating. I was happy to upgrade to the Pixel 5 the next year for the fingerprint sensor even though I was losing the larger screen. Overall, I would have to say the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 I have now are both far better than the 4XL was. It is saying a lot, too, because the 4XL wasn't a bad phone.

I was forced to go back to my Pixel 4 when I had to send my new 6 in for repairs. I've never gone back. Using the 4 after a few months with the 6 I mainly appreciated the more compact size. I had the swelling battery/back separation problem and was able to install a new battery following a youtube video. Unfortunately it died a month or so later, I suspected a defective battery but the phone bricked after installing another new battery. I then purchased a like new refurb for less than $200 and am using the phone daily. Google had a trade-in swap for 6 for a 7 which I took advantage of but aside from setting up have not used.I also purchased an inexpensive "like new" refurb 4a because of the even smaller size and not knowing what would happen after the upgrades stopped. The 4a expires this October. Wireless charging is an absolute must for me to keep these charged easily, I added one of those plug in charging coils that hides under a case and it has worked like it's built in. I keep hoping that Google will recognize that many people are still using a perfectly good phone and release one more upgrade to 14, but so far it's good.

I use my pixel 4 side by side with my iPhone 14. As a secondary device pixel 4 is amazing. I tend to use it even more than iPhone 14. I love the squash to get google assistant feature and some time it captures really good photos as well.

I recently just upgraded my 4xl oh so orange to a p7 base. I went ahead and bought a used regular bootloader unlock base 4 to play with. I would have kept my xl if it wasn't for Verizon locking the bootloader. It's a super easy phone to work on. I replaced the battery a few times no problem. Good size phone too. I do prefer the 4 size over the xl 4. The orange was a banger though.

Ive owmed my Pixel 4A now and never want to replace it due to its small size. It still fucntions just as it did when it was new. Pros- Size, design and Picture Quality Cons - Video quality is terrible, portrait mode can be really slow.

Best Pixel. Best design and it ran smooth. Face ID was also top notch. Sadly the battery life killed it in a way because if you actually wanted to use all the nice features it had to offer, the battery just wasn't big enough. That was the big mistake. Packed with features, but not the appropriate battery to carry those. Either way, best Pixel to date. My screen died last year unfortunately. Otherwise I would still be using it. Loved the experience nonetheless

I bought a completely new one for 300€ last week. I used to own a 4 XL when it first came out. I kept it for two years and have it to my son and i got my self a 7 Pro. The new one might have better specs but the overall experience isn't on par with the one of the 4XL... I wish Google would support it for a couple of years more. By the way, battery life has never been an issue for me.

It was also a common issue on the 4xl for the battery connector to come loose and weld itself to the motherboard due to increased resistance

I actually ended up buying the P4 and P4 +. Long after they’d fallen from their ridiculous $1k MSRP ($350 and $250 iirc). With 128GB base storage, sane pricing and bigger battery, it could’ve been an iconic product. Like the 6 Plus for the iPhone. But Google has a way of shooting themselves in the foot.

Pixel 4 here, the hardware still looks brand new, not a scratch but software performances are decreasing and it's pretty laggy when going below 30% battery. I'm planning to replace the battery with an ifixit kit but i'm worried to break the back glass pannel 😢

I miss the 'googley' phones. Owned them all (apart from pixel 4 surprisingly as the design is my favourite) but that stopped with the disappointed that was (for me) the pixel 6 pro. Poor battery life, reception, curved screen, cameras that were no better than my pixel 5, samsung-esque design, bug ridden software. I got rid of it after a couple of months and got the Sony Xperia Pro-I at launch which i adore. Most surprisingly impressive pixel phone for me was the 5. Great screen, no bezels, more ram, battery lasted all day, processor was super smooth, neat compact design, not a glass sandwich. My girlfriend now has my old pixel 6 pro but she wishes she still had her pixel 5 that she sold.

I'm shocked to see system taking up 13GB. My Pixel's system takes up 3.5GB on Android 13. I do find telephoto much more useful than ultrawide, and it's unfair to say it's impossible to take ultrawide photos when the wide-angle mode from Photo Sphere exists.

The Google Pixel 4XL was never a bad phone. I honestly feel like that tech reviewers made it look bad for the sake of Samsung phones and iPhones that year.

Until last month I was using pixel 4, many app froze randomly+ extremely low battery life, design wise the best looking phone but hardware was major issue
