@@arlo9034 Great! Their so similar, the OS everyone goes on about was not hard to figure out. Cams super good but uses software to be good so if you use the snap cam, there's no software so the pics suck. You have to upload from cam roll. Oh and there's a specific adapter in the box to transfer your data. My service provider set up the phone skipped that step and to this day I don't have my contacts. Aside from that small phone, big screen big battery. And Google owns KZbin, it seems like KZbin's better on here. Maybe it's just me.

Just got this baby! This is a great buy and there's nothing to regret. Most importantly, call quality is just fine. Nothing to worry about but of course I have had better. If you are willing to buy this phone, go and get it. The Adaptive Sound option also improves speaker quality but not the call quality. However, call quality is pretty ok. I have used in quiet, noisy environments and found nothing wrong. Thanks.

When you make adaptive brightness more complicated than it really is. It is a light measuring sensor, wether independent or built-in to the front facing camera, and adjusts the brightness accordingly.

It actually uses an ambient light sensor, not the camera. It would be terribly inefficient to use the whole camera sensor just for ambient lighting.

When on the always on display, do you need one or two taps to get to the Lockscreen? It is two taps on the Pixel 3 but when I remember right, they changed it with the Pixel 4 and only one tap was needed.

Very good tips. In addition to confusing bubbles,if you want to customize and change the default notification tone for messaging or other apps you have to go back into that app section and change it for each individual app under notification. Very counter intuitive I cant understand how google missed this vs iOS where it's simple.

I used to use a samsung galaxy s9+ (which has a finger print reader on the back) but after the battery started dying frequently I went out and bought myself a pixel 4XL and then like 2 days after I did that they discontinued the 4 and 4XL because they were bring out the 4A and later this... The Pixel 5.... I truly miss the finger print reader especially now with covid-19 .. as I have to wear a mask a lot now.. my phone will read my face to unlock.. which means I all the time have to remove my mask to turn on my phone... Anyways... Finger print reader is greatly missed.

I like that Tap To Wake actually works consistently on my Pixel 5. On my Pixel 2 XL a lot of times it didn't work at all and other times it took many taps Dark mode 24/7!!!, AOD off, Adaptive Brightness off.

Smoother overall than my pixel 3. Way better battery life.... My pixel 3 used to go from 100% to 80% while browsing the news feed and reading emails during my morning poop. Pixel 5 was at 100% after my morning poop

I still have what I believe it's a very useful feature with three combination of soli radar and face unlock. Only thing pixel 5 has that I'd like is battery life lol.

There is, go to settings, then search for gesture navigation, then you should see 3 button navigation to switch back to. Although I recommend getting used to the gestures, because you never know when Google will remove the 3 button navigation.

FIRST THING: Put it a good case!!!! At 3 days old, a 3' drop resulted in a screen that totally blew out around the front camera and screen is toast, phone is not usable (can't even turn it off). Any corner hit is bound to kill it as the bezel is so small. And I'm a Pixel fan, but now I have to wait for insurance to get someone else's F'd up phone before I'll get a replacement. >:-(

I've tried nearly all types of fingerprint readers out there. Underscreen, back of phone, power button, home button, etc. The back of phone readers are the best because they always work lightning quick and they are in the perfect ergonomic position for how you naturally hold your phone.

I'm halfway through this video but what I do with all of my Android phones is going to developer options... And set the window animation scale, transition animation scale, and, the animator duration scale, to .5... this gives the phone a much quicker snappier feel and I believe it gives the phone a little bit more performance.

Hey, I'm being forced by my parents to switch from my Samsung to the Google Pixel 5. Do you know if I'll be able to transfer all my Samsung related stuff and apps over to the Google Pixel 5. I know it works from the Pixel to Samsung, but I'm worried it won't work from Samsung to the Pixel. For an example, I have about 4 years of notes using Samsung notes. Probably a safe bet. It's a solid all rounder. It's not got any cutting edge features so it may age quicker but equally you won't hate it for the whole duration you use it
