Awesome video! Comes to show that specs aren't everything. Was kind of weary of my pixel 5 purchase knowing of it's direct competition with the velvet, 8t, and s20 fe, but after seeing this video, I'm happy to say that my pixel purchase is worth it :) Was previously an LG owner since the G3, but if the Velvet is any indication of what they can do at that price point, I'm happy to look away from their products and switch to the pixel brand indefinitely.

The audio wasn't even close, the Pixel 5 wins that category easily. I was impressed with how the Velvet performed, but like you said the Pixel 5 did the little things much better and in the end has the better camera performance. 2 shout outs... 1st the stabilization on the Pixel, good Gawd and... 2nd, LG brought their A game in 2020, they released some killer phones this year in the V60, Velvet, and the Wing.

I'm trying to get a hold of a Velvet even though LG is no more, simply because I think the focal length is shorter (you can get closer) so I should be able to get REALLY close up/zoomed in 'macro' shots of things like the face of an ant. I used to be able to get those kind of shots with my old Samsung Galaxy III and my LGG6 (before I dropped it and also got moisture into it.) Have you tried any very close-up, detailed shots of tiny bugs, by any chance? The Pixel 6 Pro I ended up with can only get so close. More traditional shots look fine and sharp but without being able to focus closer, I can't get the level of detail I was getting with the others. ?

Judging from video and audio recording alone, I think Pixel 5 is way ahead of the Velvet. I like the color and stabilisation on Pixel 5. Do they have jittering effect from EIS when viewed on larger screen such as laptop monitor?

I've had the Pixel 5 as my secondary before but sold it because of the processor and lack of microsd card slot. I recently purchased a velvet for 177$. I can't complain about anything because of it's design and the price I paid for it. I used gcam apk from online and the photo qualify improved significantly.

LG Velvet for $299. Think I'll go that route over the Pixel 5. Can't get the 4a $299!

Had a Pixel 4a 5G...died to water damage. Looking at either the 5a 5G or the Velvet as a replacement. I can find the Velvet for $200 refurbished and the 5a for about $330 refurbished. Decisions Decisions.

The pixel audio is hands down better. Video wise, the pixel seems more natural while the Velvet seems very artificial or boosted. That said, the pixel 5 seems to give a very reddish color to faces while the Velvet has more natural colours.

Ohhh that’s a tough one. The wing is sweet, but more expensive than the 4a. I would choose the 4a overall for myself.
