Other android phones with sd 8 gen 2 have better performance one ui is heavy. I saw people complaining of glitches while swiping notification panel and moving between apps. Also it gets hot more than others. Honor magic5 pro although I saw people complaining of it getting hot it was about 5°C less hot than s23 ultra after the same test (if I remember correctly).

Check out the channel Dame Tech. He does in depth performance tests and their 15 Pro Max always beats the S23 Ultra. It's weird, it's like night and day compared to the tests in this video. I'm not sure why. Maybe the latest iOS updates make that much of a difference. Idk.

I don't know how relevant the test is since at least the game on the Pixel seems to have worse graphics settings (at the very least I can see that it does not have motion blur). A game that runs the same on all devices would probably be a better choice because given low enough graphics, the device might not throttle at all even after a long time.

The Tensor G3 is newer so the game will have to be optimized for it by the developers. Like other games after the previous generation of Pixels were released. There used to be an "Optimized for Pixels" game section in the Play Store when the Pixel 6 was released. One of the games was Asphalt 9. Which further more emphasizes on what I said about the game eventually being optimized for the G3. Funny none of the reviewers would run games already optimized for Tensor chips even when the list existed.

You didn't control for two very important variables... framerate and graphics quality. So this test is essentially useless and you knew that but decided to upload regardless. Tensor G3 is not even in the same caliber as the A17 and S8G2. Its less than that of a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 and probably the same as Apple A14

If the Pixel started the game at 30FPS whilst the other two maxed at 60FPS then the results are useless as obviously the Pixel will look like its doing better as its load is much less. Also, graphics quality was clearly much lower on the Pixel which will help it appear better than the reality.

Thank you for the effort you’re putting to make such videos. However, imo this test means something but does not mean everything (regardless of the winning phone because i like the s23u) because the iphone is trying to give equal importance to the two tasks you’re giving to him and that’s logical in real life scenarios otherwise the user won’t initiate a screen share in the first place if it wasn’t essential. The other two phones are more prioritizing the game and providing it with most resources. Moreover, in real life scenarios the other end would have ended the call for poor screensharing exp in the case of the s23u and pixel.

@@amigosan They mean that CPU and GPU are shared more equal between screen sharing and the game and that is why if you watch the screen share, it is much better on the iPhone versus Pixel and S23U. If Apple instead reduced the screen sharing quality to the S23U/Pixel levels, then that would give more resources for the game. That is how it works. In the end, the iPhone AI/ML worked out the optimum for each app that kept the thermals under control, whilst early on it was trying to hard, maxing out and therefore overheating. This is simply unoptimised software that can easily be fixed.

In Canada, the MSRP are 1750$ for the iPhone 15 pro max 256gb, 1650$ for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256gb and 1430$ for the Pixel 8 pro 256gb. Considering this test is much more than what an average user will do than I'm mostly impress at the Pixel 8 pro perf for it's price.

S23 Ultra is as hardware capable as one flagship can be, but software (especially camera software) needs a lot of polishing and fine tuning. Looking at camera, with processor this powerful, new lenses and high ram - results are pretty much the same as on S22 Ultra. Which is almost the same as S21 Ultra. That had minor improvements over S20 Ultra etc. With this crazy tempo of flagship release (3 a year S, Flip, Fold is bit too much) Samsung keeps ignoring the problems and promising all of that solved on next model. "We'll fix it with software updates" right after phone release, that turns out to be lie, should not be acceptable on any device, let alone flagship and is an insult to customers.

I have screensaver going in windows showing old Iphone 5 SE photos mixed with old DSLR and newer phone photos. They are not that much behind the 14 Pro Max photos 😅. Ok, fair - the old Samsung A5 took pretty good photos as well. Do not expect grand jumps in photo quality improvements each year. It is marketing hype mostly. There are some minor quality improvements to appreciate. The truthful marketing speak should be - the new phone takes slightly better photos. S23U biggest jumps are in processing power, refinement in body shape and perhaps refinement in soft. It feels so nice to use (a thing that only Apple products used to have) - I have zero desire to go to any Apple nowadays.

The testing is great, but about temperature: with thermal camera do a geek bench run and identify the hot spot, let the phone cool down and before doing your Heavy Workload Test, stick a Thermal probe in the hotspot, this way you can show in real time the temperature, will be great!

Just returned Pixel 8 after it could not even smoothly load my photos in Google Photos without lagging. Picture resolution in apps like Twitter and Instagram were blurry. Phone got very hot, had poor battery and has this stutter when scrolling. Meanwhile Samsung uses modern UFS 4.0 and Apple NVMe storage, google cuts corners as always.

For anyone saying Iphone geekbench is GIMMICKY. Just letting you know 95 percent of PUBG/BGMI , LOL WILD RIFT, Mobile Legends competitive players/ KZbinrs choose Iphones over everything else. If that is not a statement for performance and stability not sure what is. S23 ultra is great but in app optimisation no android can touch Iphone. An example being- Its been 9 months since S23 Ultra released and only recently that is 2 months back S23U got 90fps support in PUBG/BGMI. Even then 90Fps is not stable as Iphone as per youtube comparisions. Furthermore there is still no proper fix for shutter lag while using camera even after 9 months. These so called in depth tech reviewers never talk about these things but claim to care about user experience over on paper specifications. Used an s7 edge before shifting to iphone 11 and am never going back to android again not because of android but mainly because of smartphone manufacturers who use android. My s7 edge slowed down to death after android oreo update. Could not use basic things like GMAPS, Spotify and so on . So beware of commenting that i have never used a flagship Android lol😂. Even after 4 years my Iphone 11 play PUBG like a charm without frame drops and where as this so called flagship android of the year because of optimisation issue could not even run the game consistently without frame drops. So there is your performance review from a user who games a lot.

I've been telling people that Tensor isn't bad (not even Tensor G1). Android 12 was the issue and Google knows this, which is why they changed their update policity to "when it's ready" instead of the first monday of the month. Sadly, a rushed up version of Android stained the Tensor's reputation and Google needs to clear up it's name. I still rock the Pixel 6 Pro and it's really good on Android 14. Could you do the same test with Pixel 6, 7 and 8? The results will surely prove my point.

This is true comparison. Other reviewer will compare app opening, which can be varied by platforms, animation configuration, then peak brightness without pointing the screen resolution and ppi density, smooth animations without talking about compromise, smother the animations means slower transition. Titanium built that is for weight reduction forgot that the transition from plastic built to glass built is for premium feel which includes adding weight which to me I prefer stainless look and can help paint and even stainless back than glass back for durability which you can enjoy the feel without case.

This test is basically running unrealistic test knowing full well the iPhone will struggle. In everyday use and even heavy use, I have never ever experienced issues that you are showing on these test. Anyway… i stopped watching at 30% cause i knew straight away were this is going.

Asphalt 9 is poorly optimised for iPhones. I’m sure you saw this is the game Apple publicly mentioned in the news, they said they are trying to get the developer of that game to release a patch. Aspalt 9 is one of the few mobile games that run mostly on gpu.its perfect cos it can play by itself. to fault your perspective, if i play only asphalt 9 only on iphone 15pm, it will run fine. the problem is (1) a17 pro is a hot chip like sd 8 gen 1, watch geekerwan channel (2) bad cooling (3) lower cores and less multitasking focused ios (4) sd 8 gen 2 is slightly better in gpu,has faster ssd and ram. This is not the first time this is happening and ppl argue about this test a lot citing its uselessness but my nephew is a mobile game streamer, so he plays a game, overlays like a video call and connect to 5g network( so his scenerio is getting closer to this)

@@Th3_Revolution these devices score higher than a PS4 on geekbench. They are more than capable. It plays most games the same as the SD. Like last year the 7 pro played games like apex legends, COD, PUBG better than the s22 slightly. Those developers optimize their apps well. Genshin impact is not optimized for the tensor chip which is the biggest factor in a games/app performance on all these devices. Pixels also played games like Stand off 2 league of legends and more at higher settings. Being you are a techy I assume you know that optimization is key. Also the tensor has only been around for 3 years and developers are slower to optimize at the moment. Also I wouldn't call 7sot and a day and half a mediocre battery life. I have the device and the battery device is great. I also don't sit on my phone for 10 hours straight until I kill it being I have other things to do throughout the day like work. I use navigation some days 5 to 10 hours and it lasts until I get home most days with an hour of browsing or a quick gaming session during my hour break.

Pushing as much activity as possible to stress test RAM, CPU and GPU is good for fun but distracts people from real life usage scenarios. From a stress test perspective, S23 definitely kills it but in a realistic day to day scenario, most you would do is take a teams call while playing game and there iPhone shines much brighter than S23 in my experience. I play Call of duty on highest settings while having teams call and phone remains buttery smooth. It gets hot yes, and thermals are the weakest point that’s true. But it hasn’t throttled for me.

There's a public statement from Apple (leaked by Bloomberg) that says specific apps that haven't been optimised cause the iPhone to overheat. The apps mentioned are Instagram, Uber, and... Asphalt 9. So, you might want to try this with a different game until Asphalt 9 has beeb fixed.

He will never try it with a different game. It’s the only game that will get him the results that he wants. There have been multiple requests from commenters to try a different game but he never does. There are other KZbinrs that show the S23 Ultra taking a shit when playing Genshin Impact. Also, the Tensor G3 clearly has a much weaker GPU than the A17pro but somehow still runs all the apps . There must be something in this test that doesn’t allow the A17pro to run all the apps simultaneously. As someone mentioned previously, it may have something to do with screen sharing being cpu/gpu intensive on the IPhone as the fps was triple the Android devices.

I didn’t update it: it comes with iOS 16.2 out of the box. I started a conference with a screen share, though with one phone, video on KZbin, 4K in picture-in-picture mode and navigation. The difference from the author of the test was that wi-fi was connected, not 5g. Well, I launched Asphalt 9. The iPhone did not freeze or lag for 25 minutes games. As for the decrease in brightness, I can’t say anything, maybe there was something. This is the result I got.
