I've had the 8 Pro for about 6 months. Excellent device. I ordered the 9 Pro from Amazon 4 weeks ago and still not been despatched. Good mind to cancel it and stick with the 8 Pro for the rest of this year.

I have the Pixel 8 Pro, and it is excellent. I am not a power user, so gaming is moot. I am running Android 15 beta, which has a battery life similar to the Pixel 9 XL. The cameras are the same, there are no thermal issues, and it performs similarly to the Pixel 9 Pro. I see no reason to upgrade and recommend everyone with an 8 wait for Android 15 as that improves the device considerably.

Got 9 PRO XL 512gb Hazel color on August 22nd....and just loving it. Used Gemini Live on recent trip Istanbul did 3 way conversation in 3 different languages...all blown away! Plus that screen in very bright sunlight is incredible!

@@Colmets1 yeh', great phone. I think a lot of people thought the iPhone 16 announcement would leave the 9 Pro for dust, it hasn't. I really like the 9 Pro XL, it's a great phone. Looking forward to getting Android 15.

@@fajceazy3946 well, if it's any comfort Apple have just got rid of restrictions with their messaging app and allowed RCS messaging. RCS essentially replaces the old-school SMS and MMS standards when messaging Android users, allowing you to send high-res media, voice notes and more, which more closely aligns with the iMessage experience when messaging iPhone users. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is a great phone, the best features for me are the hardware - the camera is excellent, including video recording, and the LTPO OLED Super Actua display is nothing less than jaw dropping. Throw in some good AI features, great battery life, and really nice overall design and... let's just say you'll be happy..!

People who buy a Pixel , don't buy it play games , they buy it because of cameras, and software , and AI it has it , apple 🍎 is coming out later. I noticed that U tube reviewers are very critical of Google pixel, but when they review iPhones they are very soft . They give them a pass.There is definitely a bias against Android.

As an owner of a 16 Pro Max, I am most definitely switching to a pixel nine XL. The Apple UI and software is totally unintuitive, clunky, and a step backwards in time. I am absolutely disappointed. I really really wanted to get back into Apple and love this phone, but it just falls short in almost every single way, the talk to text features, typing, AI, application software, everything is noticeably much worse on the 16 Pro Max other than video recording. I realllllllly want to love this phone, but it’s just bad in comparison to the flagship androids…. At everything…

I am coming from a Pixel 6 Pro, so have watched quite a few KZbin videos to see what to expect. Most are in the style of a mere Sales job for the phone, touting all the features like the Screenshot and AI photo gizmos I will probably never use, so totally enjoyed your attitude of "Yeah, whatever" regarding them. I don't game so think the Pixel 9 Pro XL is better in all the ways I need in my upgrade form the Pixel 6 Pro (better Networking chip, brighter screen, louder speakers for outdoor Speakerphone use, better battery). Great review!

Nothing like the iPhone it's way better. The Pixel has landscape mode on the home screen, it has A.I which apple hasn't launched yet, it has split screen, it's always on display is way better than the iPhone, front facing camera is way better, it has more ram and the display is better.

honestly Apple may have not released their AI features yet but they also didn't have a failure with their AI assistant they were proudly showing off at their keynote this year, unlike Google. also, when are you actually using landscape mode on the home screen? i don't understand the significance of that feature in this list - sent from an Android phone, before someone calls me an "Apple sheep"

I like the Pixel and it has does some things better than the iPhone but the iPhone does some things better than the Pixel 9 Pro XL, overall the iPhone is better but not by that much but it is much better than the Pixel in privacy and overall more cohesive and overall raw performance and battery life, as a creative tool the iPhone is better too if you’re an artist or content creator. I like the Pixel a lot as I used the Pixel 6 for a few months and the 2 XL before that, but overall the iPhone needs my needs more.

Wanted it to compete with battery life with iphone but it hasn't. Upgraded from 7 to 9 xl pro and its a massive improvement. Hopefully the new chip on pixel 10 will sort it out but google seem to flop with the 1st gen chips.

I think the Pixel 9 Pro XL is a fantastic phone and in a lot of ways is better than the iPhone but falls short in privacy and horsepower, it was probably buggy at launch, good to see Google finally addressing the thermal problems with previous Pixel phones, if i wasn’t tied into the Apple ecosystem and a few other things that are only available on the iPhone, I would be using a Pixel, I’m rooting for Goggle to succeed as we need more than just Samsung for Android.

I'm still conflicted on if I should get the pro or not. I wasn't too satisfied to S24 Ultra's camera at certain situations and it came out brown when zooming in sometime.

I’m an iphone user, I would’ve bought the pixel 9 pro xl if it had a snapdragon chip. The results of their tensor chip is just mid. At this point their whole phone is only worth 600. Their lacking in battery test, performance test cpu and gpu, the 3 most important parts of a phone’s usability. I don’t want my phone to die the firtst in the battery drain test, i don’t want my phone to dim the screen the fitst because of overheating during gaming, and i don’t want my phone not topping the charts from phones 3 years agao that are even better if my phone cost over thousand euros in this era of phones What they should do i make a snapdragon version with a AI chip themselves as an extra chip

Oh please the entire thing is an upgrade. The Chip/Modem alone is a big upgrade. The additional Ram is a big upgrade. Upgraded front facing camera. Fingerprint scanner is a MASSIVE upgrade. Screen Brightness is a Massive Upgrade. Should I keep going?

Some people will say it is a massive upgrade, but when Android 15 arrives for the Pixel 8, you will see similar battery life and thermals. Also, the FP scanner is now more consistent. RAM and screen brightness may be the only extras, but for £700 after trade-in, that is not even close to being a sensible option, especially as in dull UK, screen brightness is moot, and 12GB of RAM is more than enough, I use about 9GB on the busiest of days. So, I agree.
