Works with the Nikon D3100 too. It's the only wireless shutter release that I've found that is indeed compatible.

These Pixel Shutter release units use on a 2.4Ghz radio signal to communicate. These do not use infra-red, so you can be in virtually any position within approx. 100m (line of sight) and be able to reliably fire the camera. The triggers cannot be timed as with an intervalometer system. When the sender is activated this will trigger the shutter immediately.

then you can leave the receiver to hang on the cord, as it is very light weight, or you can attach it by velcro to your flash or your camera.

Nice review. A couple of questions: Can you use the remote from positions both behind AND in front of the camera, or does the infrared position on the receiver mean that you have to be in front of the camera with the transmitter as you were in the clip? Also, what is the approximate range? Finally, can you set a specific amount of time before it releases the shutter in single shot mode? -Cheers.

do you get any confirmation on the trigger to show that the camera accepted the shoot command? I saw the green light for focus, but does it indicate that the shutter was activated?

do you have to have the transmitter in the hot shoe? I understand you still have to have the cable plugged in. I need to fire the camera remotely, but have triggers and an additional flash on the hot shoe.

On bulb mode, my shutter closes by itself after about 3 seconds. The camera, Nikon D7500 and the remote are in bulb mode. What am I missing? Thank you.

got one for the olympus em-5, the receiver doesnt work with the remote though. both work on their own, frustrating.

Yes, half press will focus, and you will see the green light.

I have a sony a3000 and am using a Pixel Oppilas wireless remote control that's compatible with my camera, everything is hooked up, and when I click the button on the remote half way it flashes green along with the device hooked to my camera flashing green. But when I press fully to take the photo, both lights go red and nothing happens! Please help! Must I put specific settings on my camera, etc.? I have been searching online for hours with no help. Any advice or suggestions would be so useful!

Make sure they're both set to the same channel. The channel that your instructions came with should do. The channel settings are inside each device where you put the batteries. They look like combinations.

There are a few factors as to why its not working, but its actually NOT broken. Not many videos show this. Also, I think its a design flaw of the actual product. Mines did not work correctly out of the box. The remote did but the receiver did not. I put the batteries in facing the same way in the remote. The remote worked. Usually the flat end of a battery goes against the spring. So I did it that way. The receiver actually required me to put the batteries facing opposite of each other. Meaning one of them had to have to flat side facing the other end. So make sure the batteries are facing opposite ends in the receiver. Immediately it started lighting up. This was not in the directions and usually not the standard way. Also, if you have your back button set as focus, then the remote will not work as focus. You have to have your shutter button set as focus like, when your camera came out the box. I had this issue.

Yes, that is correct John, the sender and receiver need to be on the same frequency.

It depends on the camera, some have this ability, I'd suggest you check the user manual or do a google search for your specific camera and "remote shutter start stop recording"
