You can bring more than 2 artillery pieces depending on the army you play. It just gets pretty pricey and is not usually worth the investment as you still need adequate amounts of infantry and Calvary. If the map has a river that isn’t crossable in many places that’s when you see players bring more and more artillery. Love these videos keep them coming! Edit: the rule thing you were talking about with mass charge isn’t necessarily against the rules. It’s often called blobbing, and it’s really just when you do that mass banzai. With conventional armies it’s generally frowned upon, but not against the rules. However when you play with a militia army like Ireland or USA or even some Prussian armies, that mass militia charge is to be expected and no one can complain because that strategy is THE strategy to that army, it’s militia that’s all it can do lol.

In the American War of Independence Ulster Scots settlers defeated a loyalist army at the Battle of kings mountain North Carolina. Irish soldiers were over represented in the Wartime SAS and Mao Tse Tung learned guerilla warfare from the IRA in the War of Irish Independence.

its also has a great grand campaign although it plays slower and you can only build units out side of starting provinces if it happened historically which can gimp the minor nation but the battle Ai performs far far better with the NTW3 realism and moral mechanics

Agree, this is best, as strategy through movement becomes absolutely essential. Imagine a medieval army that needs to really scout well, or get nasty surprises during the battle. Even the AI should support some generals to be more cunning.

France had a big opportunity to win on the Swedish side if they had charged the left side while the cavalry was behind the lines, instead they moved closer and continued the gun fight. Had they charged then, they would have broken at least 3 units and forced Sweden to retreat

@@jordanmills8720 Yeah. I've never fully read up on Ireland and Scotland. My main focuse on histor was the American Civil War and ww2. I guess mostly what's the difference between Northern Ireland and tge rest of ireland?

@@thehowlinggamer5784 Northern Ireland was formed 101 years ago. Before that, the whole island was one country although it wasn't an independent country, it was part of the UK (United Kingdom). The rest of Ireland became independent while Northern Ireland remained part of the UK as it is today. That is the reason there is a lot of fighting on the island. Some groups like the IRA want Northern Ireland to join the rest of Ireland while others want it to stay in the UK.

Great video and I love especially NTW3 gameplay! But: The Irish player was clearly exploiting the moral system in NTW3 with his large militia units and mass charges.

i dont really agree, its not like he was charging 14 units at a time.. i feel with the veteran players involved this would have been called out.. charging as many front line units as possible to prevent the moral bonus of friendly flanking units is a legitimate tactic.. i would assume its considered an exploit when you chuck like 10 plus infantry units maybe but this looked legit especially when it appears the irish line units cant maintain a shooting match.. ive only played NTW3 campaigns (which i highly recommend) so i could be wrong

Mass charges don’t work against formed up infantry, the British player was exceptionally bad and kept retreating, failing to turn around and form a cohesive line to shoot at the Irish. During the end of the battle you can see when the Prussian player formed up properly they mass routed double their numbers.

Maybe you are playing "hardcore battles" instead of the classic battles, when you are in the menu of the mod, make sure that you are playing classic battles (I think it's classic)
