These were the ninja turtles I grew up with, and I loved them. I still pull out my toys every once in a while, even though I'm 16. I used to play with these everyday for years when I was young, damn.

To be fair, the early mutation Turtles do have a tail that you can display or hide. So the NECA turtles technically aren't the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures to feature a tail. :)

The Mutatin' version of the TMNT figures were actually the first ones to get tails...you guys should do that review in the part 3 video. Those figures were bad ass.

I feel like it should be noted that the 2003 show had SUPER ARTICULATED versions of the turtles. When it's pointed out that the 4th movie had the first expanded leg articulation, that's not really true. the 2003 series had ball hips, knees, ankles, and toes. AND the hands had finger articulation, too.

There was a TMNT figure from around the 10 year anniversary that had tails. It was the ones the good do back flips.

First time the tails was on a turtle was NOT the Comicbook styled versions, it was as i can remember first on the transforming version to "tiny" and i use that word loosely here to their baby turtle form that also came with a mutagen canister for each one. That perticular version i only remembering having Donnie, and his Bo staffs turned into 2 pogo sticks or 2 stilts. And i can remember thanks to the double use of their weapons Leos Swords was comically small

JAW Jakerssure Maybe a lot of people hated things like the new design for the turtles, the changing of the weapons (well Michelangelo specifically), the lack of April, Casey & various well known TMNT villains (replacing them with kind of shitty ones) & they hated the fact that they added a 5th turtle to the group. The fact that she was a female may or may not have anything to do with the hatred for her. I read somewhere that the main reason for adding Venus De Milo to the group was to boost female interest in the franchise.

2012 TMNT is as good ask the 2003 version that's because the 2003 version although it started out very good the show dropped in quality as the time went on meanwhile the 2012 version kept this good pacing and storytelling through the entire show maybe the last season was the worst one arguably but they show when was good until the very end meanwhile doesn't detect the 2003 version dropped and quality significantly although that's my opinion

Amazing video, the tails were excluded bcuz the toy company managers thought they looked like penises & being the 80s 90s it didn't fly with families. Wish the 03 turtles had neca articulation. The neca ones r the best & rep the original design plus articulation is now extremely important amongst adult collectors
