Yeah, their asking price was ridiculous! Over $200.00!! If the figures are roughly $15.00 a piece, it'd be $75.00 for them...maybe another $50.00 (and I wouldn't pay that for a damn cardboard box, but whatever) for the special box...I don't know where they're coming up with the other $75.00 from.

That Man-at-Arms with the fur trim, the bigger mace, the red belt-jewel and the paint deco on the helmet is the one I always wanted as a kid! I've always loved the cross-sell art and the early mini-comic art that depicts him with those details. Thanks for another excellent video!

This is an extremely cool set! Great review! I hope if MOTU Classics ever makes a comeback, they'll do a similar thing. Except not as a convention exclusive; they're too expensive to begin with, and then when the scalpers buy them out, the prices go to ridiculous levels.

Looks like they packaged Beast Man with the belt on upside down. In the Lords of Power photo, the “balls” are shown on top instead of the bottom where they resemble... well, you know. LOL

the different color on the back of skeletors kick pads can be explained by them just being pullovers like kick pads in pro wrestling so the blue/purple being different still makes sense.

First off, I thought of the kick pads thing too. They're referred to as shin guards, but my brain also went with kick pads as an easy explanation. Which brings me to my next thing. Did you play any of the 2k20 games? And if so, did you create/download any MOTU characters? I spent soooooo much time creating MOTU and GIJOE characters, and of course downloading others as well.

I don't know if this MEANS anything but i just saw a preorder page go up on BBTS for Masters of the Universe origins, specifically calling out the LoP Beastman. So if you are interested they may be releasing these LoP versions of the origins figures as seperate releases in the upcoming years.

Those are some really nice looking figures. A nice reference to the original prototypes. Hope there’s a way to get the Mer-man head here at mass retail later on. Like what they’re doing with the other He-man head sculpt for the upcoming Battle Armor figure. Although I’ve heard the price is rather iffy for a set of five figures. Even with all the extra details and packaging. Nice video overall!

Love it, great review. I wished they used a left arm with no bracer and a closed fist for He-Man. Secondary characters Mer-Man, MAA and Beast Man stole the spotlight from He-Man and Skeletor imo. Axel Gimenez art is another Masterwork here. I can't wait to get this set. Thank you Dan!

OKAY, my conclusion for this three He-Man versions is...the SDCC He-Man has the beste skin tone, the Lords of Power He-Man has the best head paint/skulp and the retail version is the cheapest one. Know please Mattel give us a Battle Armor He-Man with the right skin tone and the right head paint/skulp for an affordable price ;-)

The only one out of this set that I really want is that Mer-Man. The rest just don't do it for me. BBTS had the Lords of Power listed on their site as a single-carded figure for $15 briefly. It's understandably sold out. Based on that, is there any word on this figure seeing a single-carded release?

the set can still be pre-ordered from Big Bad Toy Store, but the price from them has shot up to $300! And I may be in the minority here but I am really not digging this set at all. I do like this version of Mer-Man more (though my favorite look for him is still Filmation) but the rest of them look more like bootlegs to me. Or at least recreations of bootlegs. Yes I know they are recreations of prototypes so maybe it's also my distaste for the pre-Filmation era affecting my opinion too, but bottom line they're not for me.

It's very cool. I look at these, and the origins figures and I get sad. Sad that children will probably never play with these toys. Netflix really missed a huge opportunity not having a kids show about He-Man prior to all of these coming out. Even a web series with shorts on KZbin would work. Then again, none of it would have mattered because of how difficult the waves are to get at retail due to adults buying all of the product. This is a great set, but I liken it to some of the Hssbro Con GI Joe Transformers exclusives...or the Fan Club Subscription Service. Pricing things like this at almost twice what retail would be. Between LEGO and GI Joe, and living on the East Coast, Con Exclusives have become the bane of my existence. Great review!!!

Maaaaan, I'll pay $20 for Origins if we can get some of these sculpts and paint decos at retail! These look amazing! I'm all about the nostalgia with the first few waves of origins, but the way to go is definitely keeping the proportions/modularity/aesthetic they've got going now, but giving us Classics style details as far as sculpt and paint go, like with these figures (even though they're based off of vintage prototypes!). I also wouldn't mind some well made soft goods thrown in as well occasionally. I'm still fully backing Origins, but I'd really like to see some of this in 2021 to keep its momentum going. I'm also still very hopeful with the Keldor 2 pack (even though its an exclusive, which is my other big fear for the line if these ideas actually happen) that we'll see some really cool "deluxe" style figures with multiple accessories and paint apps, much like the battle armor figures coming later. ......Mostly I'm just griping a little because I desperately want that Mer-man lol

It would be cool if they released recoloured non-exclusive common variants for retail that could be bought gradually.
