This was released by Magnetic Scrolls, who made other text (and text/graphic) adventure games. Fish! was voted "Best 16-Bit Adventure Game" in the 1989 Golden Joystick awards. Probably the Amiga, Atari ST, Mac and MS-DOS versions have less disk swaps :)

Reading the title, my mind immediately went: "Today's fish is trout á la crème. Enjoy your meal."

Yes, that's what made me pick it. ... FISH!

"Look anvil" -- "I don't understand anvil". This is exactly how it feels when trying to explain even the simplest concepts to the majority of people.

This is the same company behind three text adventures I played on the C64. The Pawn, Guild of Thieves and Jinxter.

Its like a blend of James Bond, Docor Who, and Omikron the Nomad Soul, or Space Station Silicon Valley as an adventure game. I really hope GOG gets the PC version someday because this sounds like a lot of fun.

Glad I watched you deal with all the loading instead of playing it myself.

You did a great John Waters impression for the boss character.

Did I? I'm relatively bad at making my voice sound like specific people so I just sort of wing it when I read these characters based on what I think they might sound like. :P

Maybe using an Action Replay fast loader could alleviate the loading issues a bit. The c64 was probably a bit limited in memory for the Magnetic Scrolls engine. Even Infocom games had trouble and required lots of loading.

The enemy faction is called Seven Deadly Fins, yet it's unusual that they attacked a fish planet. So, are they not aquatic themselves? Why the name then?

So many loading screens, it's almost like Starfield

Well you met the exploding parrot. This is an alltime classic text adventure, but too advanced for the C64. People who want a proper experience with it should check it out on the Amiga, or similar platforms.
