Hello sir, i found a trick to turn a 2D object into 3D, or you say giving some depth. So usually what we do is we use black soft brush with low opacity and low flow, and then we paint it, buy what if we want the depth (maybe i am using the wrong term of the word i want to say) on every edge and we want to make it precise, here is the trick 1:-Take your 2D object 2:- make a copy of it 3:- turn the underlying layer into black 4:- now on the upper layer add gaussian blur and you will see some 3D effect on your 2D object, If you think you are not satisfied you can make a copy of coloured 2D object ( without gaussian blur) and place it in the middle and now on the top layer in which you applied blur, mask it, and you are done

You're a wizard, Harry. Basically, like some others have said, similar to gradient mapping, OR luminosity masking. The terms are all starting to get mixed up aren't they - essentially separating the photo out into zones based on luminosity and then masking areas you want to apply or not apply an effect to. So with your smart filters, was there any reason you didn't use the mask supplied with the smart filter as opposed to creating a new layer mask on the layer itself?
