I think an interesting solution to the fall height problem is to utilize the sculk charge mechanic where you can control where the sculk charge goes using stairs and trapdoors. So maybe the set up would be have them drop into the floor on bedrock level or have them autokilled some other means and have a sculk charge wire travel to another room to be converted. It's too late to suggest this now but might be interesting for a future project maybe.
@notnek8792 жыл бұрын
The only issue with that is sculk loses a lot of charge when moved along a wire, like an exponential amount and cannot produce anywhere near as much sculk as it would otherwise, even on really short wires

pro tip: since Sculk veins can hold back water the same way signs and buttons can, coupling this with the ability for them to occupy multiple faces of a single block or spread to all available faces in a corner (like glow lichen can) makes them pretty useful for this.
@BooksMusicMe172 жыл бұрын
I like the sound of this thematically, but it might not be a good long-term solution since I wouldn't be surprised if Mojang changes them to be possible underwater in the future, like glow lichen is.

This video demonstrates one of the things I enjoy about Minecraft, that there is generally more than one way to do things, and it's fun to take a thing you made, which is probably working okay, and to find ways to make it work better, until it works as well as you want it to.

Just curious, if we can detect frequently + the amplitude (without the comparator), then we can ideally detect if a block placement (just an example) is done at a specific set of coordinate !!!! Like 5 blocks from the skulk sensor in all directions. And adding wool blocks in all directions except one specific direction, we can ideally create a circuit that will activate only if you do a specific activity with a specific amplitude at a specific space coordinate in Minecraft world!!! It would be crazy to see something creative on a detector circuit with frequency + specific amplitude combined!!!

if you let the spawner run without generating stone wouldnt after enough time all blocks capable would be converted or have the veins on them so the only available ones would be from generated stone when you turn it back on? seems easier than buttoning every surface

Okay, so I realize that this video was put out almost a year ago, so I'm not sure if some of the mechanics have changed in the game, but I absolutely CANNOT get the sculk sensor to properly activate the redstone circuit. The setting on the arrow locks the repeater, stopping the piston, and no setting seems to work. I've tried every position for the arrow. I've tried repositioning and reworking the circuit. I've watched several other videos on this, and after hours I'm at a loss. What am I missing?!?

The comparator really is a complicated redstone doohickey, especially paired with the new sculk sensor. Also why not make it so that right-clicking a sculk sensor swtiches it from proximity mode to frequency mode (the output signal can switch)
@Pixlriffs2 жыл бұрын
Because sculk sensors are organic - they're kinda 'alive' - so while they do output redstone power on their own, having them switch modes like a daylight detector feels a little odd. And, tbh, a comparator is designed for this kind of thing. So it's intuitive for a player who's used comparators before.
@GalaxyBoi412 жыл бұрын
@@Pixlriffs that is true, and it is hilarious how cake outputs comparator signals, I do wonder if putting a candle in a cake changes the signal strength.

Why can't the comparator facing the same direction as the subtraction mode one be a repeater instead?
@Pixlriffs2 жыл бұрын
Because then it'd boost the signal regardless. A repeater would pick up a signal strength of 1 from the first comparator (which is meant to be the only signal which can actually activate the circuit), and boost it to 15, locking the output repeater every time.
