so just a nitpick about the internals of the mic: You're making a SM-58 style microphone. The diaphram would be orientated up. The direction it's currently set would be for a front facing mic like the Shure 55SH.

If you have a subdevision serface modifier, you can lower or remove it. If you have already applied it, try un-subdividing in Edit mode.
