Eventually ever guitar player gets a tele or semihollow .

First time I saw a tele was in the 1986 movie crossroads with Ralph machio. I think it was Steve via playing the shredder guitar dueling him.

Man, something about those red teles and rosewood fretboards looks so sick to me.

Glad you played some sneaky Zep. I always tend to think of early Jimmy Page and that Dragon Telecaster he had. Sort of weird how the Telecaster fell out of being the 'rock guitar' when it's used so often in some massive rock songs. Just a shame these vintage Fenders are made in Mexico.

That’s so true about telecasters. Ted Green actually was the guy that made me have to have one but I still can’t play any of the chords. Lol still trying though.😅

Ted Greene was a monster player…he probably forgot more chords than I’ll ever know 🫤

I've got two of his instructional books. One is a chord book that teaches you literally 300 different types/ voicings for an E chord.

Vinteras are cool guitars but like most Mex made instruments the polyester finish is thick and if impacted shatters like glass. After years of buying Fenders the nitro finishes are the most natural and wear nicely. I find with poly finishes I have to be extremely careful trying not to ding it! The US models have a thinner polyurethane finish which is a bit better, but nitro is my overall favourite as it’s on my four Highway One models. Now the vintage frets on the Vinteras are also something I’ve grown to dislike as I own a 50s Tele from that series and 2 from classic series. I don’t think I’d buy another vintage Fender model or a Mex made model again. They look beautiful though!

Built my own swamp ash tele. Including cutting and routing the body from a blank. Learnt so much in the process. I love that guitar.

@@paulburton5150 Nice. I don't do the woodwork, I just like to build parts guitars. I stick mainly to building no-name pinecasters on the cheap and then I just give them away to kids/friends, etc. Cheap hobby that way. But, my two favorite personal guitars are just parts builds. Worth more in parts than they are assembled, lol.

@@jmakc3541 the main thing I learnt was it's probably not worth the hassle of doing the woodwork yourself 🤣

The Vintera II Tele sounds good Steve. I like the Fiesta Red color. My first exposure to Fender Strats and Teles was in the mid 60s. I have the Vintera II 60s Stratocaster. For me, it feels like home. I'm sure that Tele would feel the same. If I decide to buy one, I'll use your link.

Fender seems to be putting current "C" shape necks on everything now, that is not Custom Shop anyway. I looked at a couple 50's Squires, and some of the MIM and Corona ones, same thing. I prefer the 60's U shape, or 50's V, even more the early 50's baseball bat necks. Hard to find now. I bought a Robert Cray Hardtail Strat, and just ordered a Warmoth neck for it. I've used a lot of them and they are great!! I put them on several older Fenders also. Peace --gary
