1:36 Seth Lover left Gibson in 1967 to help Fender design a humbucker pickup, the CuNiFe WRHB was the result. CuNiFe magnets (originally used in automotive speedometers) went out of production, so soon did the WRHB. The CuNiFe magnets were special in that they were soft enough that they could be threaded for use as adjustable pole pieces. For the most part, typical AlNiCo magnets are very brittle and don't machine very well. Tim Shaw (also of Gibson) came to Fender to oversee the development of many new pickup designs, as well as the reintroduction of authentic WRHB pickups. Both Seth Lover and Tim Shaw are responsible for some of the most important pickup designs ever used, we are fortunate that both men worked for Gibson and Fender. Love Your Content, Thank You

I purchased the Squier 70s Tele with this exact same pickup configuration. I said and felt exactly the same way you did , The hotter single coil in the bridge is spot on Tele Twang, the Wide range Humbucker in the neck is so warm n full. I find myself in that neck position often when playing mine. Mine feels so well balanced and I couldn't be more satisfied with this purchase. Absolutely love the guitar. Mine is the 3 tone Sunburst and has a 9.5 radius neck. It's fantastic.

I would love a 70s Custom Tele. Might have to be one of those Classic Vibes.

I would definitely own one of these by now if it weren't for one major issue....I'm left handed. So fender doesn't want my money.

My first comment received a "returned error" message, so this will be posted in two parts: PART ONE: I have friends, including a past president of a prominent "blues society" in Texas, who like to "fight their guitars". These guys all play on HEAVY GAUGE strings, and believe that damage gives a guitar "character". I am not one of those guys. I play on very light strings, and my guitars are not damaged and do not deteriorate while in my care. Firstly, I would like to ask FMIC, "If this is a "Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom", then why is it not offered in original color combinations, such as natural/black pick guard (better looking than any of this series, which is offered only in Black, (Arctic?) White, and Midnight Wine)? I bought one of these new online last year, and it was a dog. It was so bad that it made me skeptical of FMIC in general. I told a G.C. sales person that if I had been told that the guitar which I received was a Squier, I would have believed them. But this guitar is near the top of FMIC's price range (I regard Custom Shop guitars to be obscenely over-priced). Yes, it looks great, if you're looking for a wall decoration piece, but the Vintage II 1977 Tele Custom which I received, with FOUR inspection signatures on the hang tag, had the following issues: 1)-Crappy case: Standard Tele/Strat FMIC case, so because the Tele is shorter than the Strat, small poorly-upholstered foam cubes were glued loosely into the corners. For well more than $2K, FMIC could have included a correctly-sized TELECASTER CASE. 2)-A whole set of about 10+ screws were drilled too low on the body of the guitar. This created a serious playability issue, as NONE of the strings were parallel to the neck, and the high "E" wanted to slide off of the neck, starting at about the 7th fret, and becoming progressively worse toward the bridge. 3)-Although all of the stickers were present, the guitar looked and felt as if it had been gigged with (I can detect differences in my guitars when I allow others to play them, even for a few minutes. The same is true of my motorcycles). So don't ask, "May I play your guitar?", "May I ride your motorcycle?", or "May I **** your girlfriend?". There were fingerprints and a few tiny divits on the front of the guitar, and the guitar generally felt as if someone had played it without washing their hands after eating BBQ. The guitar felt GREASY.

Beautiful guitar! A little 2000 grit sanding paper on the sticky neck and it’s all good. 😁

What no belly cut? 😩
@jordanpratt38214 ай бұрын
This series is meant to be period correct. They did however screw up an early batch of these and give them belly cuts. Sold them as limited editions.
