This moveset definitely feels like what a Boo, especially King Boo, would be like in Smash. All the moves are great ideas. If I made this, I would have just made his Up B floating, but what you did is definitely a lot more creative. As for future moveset concepts, Eevee would be interesting to see.

King Boo would be really cool in Smash, if we're gonna get a new Luigi's Mansion rep, I REALLY want it to be E. Gadd. He's appeared in tons of Mario games on his own, but his inventor and scientist motif could make for a SUPER interesting Moveset.

Y'know after I play Luigi's Mansion 3, i immediately thought king boo would be great for smash and i made my own moveset on paper. Im glad you mentioned his movement because i basically thought the same thing with him being a floaty heavyweight. I absolutely love the Luigi's mansion series and I would love it if Nintendo made Luigi's own game series! They could even change luigis series icon in smash from the mushroom to a Boo or something 👻. Luigi Number 1!

I'd love to see King Boo become a playable character in Smash, probably not in Ultimate but maybe in the next Smash game. I really liked the moveset you gave him and there's not much I'd change. One suggestion I do have is that King Boo should have his own unique victory theme. You could give him Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Piranha Plant's victory theme but I feel that he should have something more sinister to fit his sadistic personality. I think his victory theme should be the title screen jingle from Luigi's Mansion.

Something interesting is that like Fire Emblem Three Houses it dint have spirits when the game released, and we got Byleth in the game so King Boo could be next, then again we didn’t get a Mario Maker 2 spirit event and I doubt we’re getting a Mario Maker character in so there’s that

Awesome! I absolutely adore King Boo and seeing someone think of a moveset for him makes me very pleased. Though I must say, your concept was very different from what I envisioned. I personally thought King Boo would work best as a glass cannon light-weight with attacks that have weird properties and could inflict status ailments. He wouldn’t even have the ability to shield or dodge. Instead, he would turn invisible for as long as he holds the shield button (kind of like Sly Cooper from Play Station All-Stars)

@Stamps It could happen but I doubt it due to how the way Luigi & Luigi’s mansion is represented in Smash, Luigi is also the player two of the Mario franchise & it’d be strange to see him with his own logo/icon & you could argue that by that logic, Yoshi & maybe Wario would also be listed as Mario characters. However Yoshi isn’t as important as Luigi in their own respective franchise not saying Yoshi doesn’t play a vital role.Wario is another example as he has two spinoffs series although one is in dire need of return but he is mainly represented by Warioware. Luigi’s moveset revolves mainly around the Super Mario Franchise & being similar to Mario, that represents him & his history well as he is Mario’s underestimated younger brother that has a similar play-style but has distinctions in almost every Mario game they’re both featured in so changing his moveset to just Luigi’s mansion would be somewhat limiting him to what he can do

This is really cool, I don't know why I never considered king boo. I like the down smash but maybe also include the shockwave from lm3. This could travel across the entire stage, however it's slow moving and u suffer quite a bit of endlag from the move so it's risky but if the shockwaves hit the opponent u can use them as combo starters. There is no limit to how many shockwaves u can send out and they travel behind and in front of king boo. It would be the first down smash projectile how ever it can't be reflected.

Any video that uses Pedal Power as a reference point knows true suffering, and is thus worthy of all respect possible. King Boo is definitely a character I'd be happy to see. Not essential in any way, but then again, neither was Bowser Jr. I really like both his emphasis on space control and aerial mobility. Things like his laugh being his pummel are such great flavor that I'd adore for this to be used as a basis. My only suggestions would be for utility in his specials - for instance, Disappear should be named Peeka-boo because c'mon man it's right there, but also I'd recommend making it cause a slight slowing effect to anyone passing through it - not Witch Time or Timer or anything, but maybe just a slight decrease to air speed so KB can more easily follow up, with some reduced knockback while he's laughing so enemies can't use that to their advantage. Or for the lightning, putting him into a state where you can essentially pick from a few directions for KB to unleash the lightning in, with him doing various little poses to telegraph that along with the glow, then unleashing them, kinda like Final Smashes with an active element like the Sonic Whale or the Shadow Mario Paint. Interruptable if you hit him while he's setting it up, of course, but just something to give it more a "playable boss pattern" vibe. But just having this level of character and animation in a moveset would be fantastic. Also congrats on getting your Byleth design featured in Smash, I'm sure the residual checks will be coming in soon!

Honestly would love King Boo more than anyone for Mario, except maybe Toadette. But first you would need to add Toad, which is great if using a ton of Powerups from NSMB but rather have King Boo. Toadette would be Toad, but has a down B to switch to Peachette. This way, she is BOTH a clone of Peach and Toad at the same time - And I think this is interesting. LIterally identical, except more versatile and does not have Toad & Peaches Down B.

Before Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3, I was always thinking "why do people want King Boo?" And after playing them, now I see why. This is a pretty cool moveset idea! One character I'd love to see you make a moveset for is Captain Syrup. Sure, she tends to be overlooked these days, but she is viewed as Wario's archenemy. Not really sure if she would fight hand-to-hand or ride around in a aircraft like in Wario Land II. I suppose another idea would be her using the Wario Transformation Power-ups.

I always forget how complicated Smash characters are. when I designed them as a Kid all I focused on was B up, down, forward, and neutral lol. with the odd sentence to describe their weapon, if they were heavy, etc. B up should be a ghost house door from the snes. One opens up for Boo to slip through and another appears up and over, swinging a door open potentially hitting an air born unit. When Boo opens the door he slips through to the new door. However with a quick tap away, he can avoid going in, leaving the doors open for a second or two, and with a quick hit can sent an enemy into the first door, to be sent off stage. I do love your B up idea though. Super fun

🤔 The King Boo Spirit is based off of his appearance in the GameCube release of Luigi’s Mansion. There are spirits of Link, Pit and Donkey Kong in their classic incarcerations. King Boo being a fighter wouldn’t really break any rules so long as his appearance is based on the newer games.

Y'know, I forget but I think Dark Samus only just barely doesn't touch the ground, I could see something similar with King Boo rather than having him being rooted to the ground with his tongue in idle animations. Otherwise I really liked the moveset, of course though I'm the guy who wants Waluigi, Captain Toad, and King Boo and is essentially the type of guy fire emblem fans use as an example when people complain about their series having too many reps. That's an whole other thing I don't wanna get into but... think its pretty clear why Mario has the most and most likely always will.

More-so considering its equal to the high grossing series or surpasses them that Nintendo has while only at most selling 2 million copies compared to 15 million and what not like Zelda which hasn't gotten a new rep since Brawl despite the other reoccurring characters that'd fit. extra, since you forgot palutena's guidance: Pit: Whoa! That's a b-b-b-big scary g-g-ghost!! Palutena: That's King Boo, arch enemy of Luigi and King of the boos. Pit: Those things cause a lot of trouble don't they? That gem on his crown looks pretty powerful! Viridi: Of course you'd be scared of a floating marshmellow, Pit! I also hear the mansions and hotels he builds are totally unkept. Like, there's money and dust bunnies all over the place! Palutena: King Boo is heavy but floaty, and he leaves plenty of open opportunities to attack. Watch out for his spike bombs, and make sure not to fall for his division trick. His stage would be the top of the Last Resort where you fight him in LM3. His splash card would be "brings a fright to the fight" His reveal trailer starts with Simon, Mario, and Luigi fighting Bowser, K. Rool, and Dedede indoors. Mario takes out Bowser, Simon smashes his club against K. Rool's head, he bites it and swings Simon behind himself and then steps on his head. Luigi kicks Dedede in the jaw. The kings and Simon stand back up, disoriented. The windows behind them as they fight turn black as King Boo's silhouette flies by them. Everything is dark, Luigi is crapping his pants, Mario makes a small fireball in his hand for light. He looks and aims around before the camera turns to King Boo as he jumpscares them all and the viewer with a nasty scowl. The camera zooms in on Luigi as he says "oh no" King Boo laughs and then he strikes everyone with his purple lightning. He wraps his tongue around bowser and then unravels it and he twirls like a top. Cut to gameplay, after gameplay is done, cut back to King Boo with little boos dancing around him as he laughs

What if, when using the final smash and getting the KO, it instead shows the opponent stuck inside the painting. King Boo then puts the painting away. I just feel like that's a bit more thematic then it simply exploding.

Personally, I would've made the neutral special the Big Boo Breath. It would basically be a chargeable Gust Bellows that could also blow away projectiles and items, potentially doing a lot of shield damage or even blowing shielding opponents much further than non-shielding opponents.

I think King Boo would have alts referencing his past looks he no longer uses (His LM1 appearance and his Sunshine appearance) Also, I think his victory theme(s) would be the first 19 notes of the Luigi's Mansion theme but it goes really fast, and for the special victory screen suggestion made by @Dr.Walker, I think the theme could change to the game over theme for the first game.

You have a great move list especially with that three boo idea 💡 if you want to read mine check it out I only explained specials: :) 👻 King Boo - has a similar weight to King Dedede and has 5 jumps and an extended grab using his tongue which can also tether, his tilts and smashes are tongue based attacks, his up special tosses his crown upwards anything that touches it switches places with king boo if it lands on a stage you warp there. His neutral special changes how many times you use it, first it lobs a goo ball which does 5% but slows an opponent walk speed for 5 seconds, second it shoots a spike ball which 1/3 of the time breaks on first bounce though it can bounce twice which does 10% and on the third time it shoots a fireball comet from his crown like a slower giant Mario fireball which does 20% and a lot of knock back, his down special sets down a mirror beneath wherever king boo is and can be placed in the air, it reflects projectiles and items but absorbs light based moves which heal you, every 6 seconds a boo is summoned which saps health from whatever it touches and gives it to you, they slowly follow the nearest enemy, if two ghost appear they combine and are stronger and much faster and change forms, if three ghosts are on stage they combine then charge at the closest enemy and explode, the mirror lasts for 18 seconds unless it his struck with 20 damage worth of physical attacks before you can use it again, if the mirror is destroyed then the ghosts disappear, his side special summons’s a lighting strike similar to hero’s but is purple, if 3 strikes land you start to glow and have unlimited jumps for ten seconds and your neutral special stays as the fireball however you become easier to kill like shulks minado arts, his final smash shows a giant mirror appearing making you grow to enormous size before splitting into 3 King boos and you swing your tongue which acts like bowsers final smash.

Totally just for the purpose of being hard to send flying; I think that’s an important aspect for big boss characters like King Boo. The difference in this video is that he’s both heavy AND floaty in the air; doesn’t fall fast like Bowser.
