@DeexAngel once a person invites a vampire into their home it renders the person powerless. Meaning the garlic, holy water, mirror won't have an effect on the vampire. Atleast thats what is said towards the end of the film.

You know it's amazing what you over look when you see the same movie over the years. Max must have either been ready to turn Sam's mother or he reconized the Frog brothers and knew they kill Vampires. At 1:05 you see his hand come up to his mouth as if he is hiding his fangs. I've seen this movie hundreds of times over the years since it came out and just noticed it.. lol

And you must be Max. You must be de Vmax: In enzyme kinetics, Vmax is the maximum velocity or rate at which the enzyme catalyzed a reaction. It happens when all enzyme active sites are saturated with substrate. Since the maximum velocity is described to be directly proportional to enzyme concentration, it can therefore be used to estimate enzyme concentration

Why the fuck does Sam throw the water at Max? I mean, it's just ordinary tap water, right? It's not holy so it wouldn't work anyway.

Micheal invited him in. It doesn't make much sense, but in this movie and I think in some vampire lore, if you invite a vampire into your house, it somehow becomes immune to it's weaknesses. I'm guessing just inside that house for that night. In the end Max says, "never invite a vampire into your house you silly boy, it renders you powerless."
@jpx87937 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Because Michael invited him, that was why he didn't react to the garlic or holy water any differently from how a mortal would, and he had a reflection like any mortal. For all this to occur, according to lore, the vampire must enter uninvited.

I may be in the minority but I think the Frog Brothers took more from this movie than added to it. With the brilliant cinematography, Keifer Sutherlands and the great soundtrack, The Lost Boys could have been a genre defining film(Along the lines of Halloween or Matrix) WITHOUT THEM. But with them, it became more of a horror comedy for kids. I say this as someone who was in his early twenties when it was released.
