Classical Pianist Opeth When Reaction
Today I will be reacting to Opeth When. I know that a lot of you guys love Opeth and some of you have rec recommended Opeth When. Also, Opeth When acoustic parts give a change in the mood every minute leaving you with a taste of wanting more.
Opeth When lyrics can be found online or even here on youtube if you want to read while you listen to the track. Also, this is not an Opeth When, only a recorded mastered track.
Opeth My Arms Your Hearse Album April Ethereal Enjoy!

"And I cried" even 20+ years later I still sometimes do hearing this song. That whole final section with the clean vocals made me fall in love with Opeth and still blows me away to this day

The older albums are my most favorite ones. I love all Opeth… but when they were metal it just resonated with me on a deep spiritual level, encapsulating a an entire era of my life, and even now being able to bring me back to moments then when I would just close my eyes and visualize whatever the music made me feel. Those thoughts stay with me forever. This music is amazing and I am glad you are experiencing it.

That transition at 1:46 and the growl, the riff that follows...awesome! Peter's best solo while in Opeth at 3:03. Another epic outro at 9:16 love it.

hint: when you do Madrigal (next song), do The Amen Corner as well, just like you did with Prologue/April Ethereal. Madrigal is just a short intermezzo before Amen Corner

Yeah, the older albums are definitely really frigging good (and better than the newer ones, at least in my opinion). It's good to see that you agree! 🙂 Can't wait the day that you react to the song Twilight is My Robe, another older Opeth gem

@@PJAlphaMusic If I remember correctly, they tend to say that it is raw, unfinished and of low production quality. There's some truth to these claims since in the later albums the production quality is better, Lars (sorry had to do that, that is his REAL name after all 🙃) has continued to upgrade his fabulous voice to even more fabulous, the musical direction shifts and "evolves" a little bit etc., BUT at the same time it precisely is all this rawness, grittiness, the black metal influence, the basement-played-(and -recorded) metal and the obvious talent and (future) potential that these guys have and had back then that make it so special for me. So basically it is all the same, but different, love than what the newer, more polished albums get from me. By the way, I checked out some of your earlier content in your channel and it was definitely interesting stuff! This might be a hit or a miss, but usually my friends and people who are interested in these topics might find the works of Dr. Andrew Huberman (HubermanLab Podcast) interesting if you haven't heard about him already. It is not directly related to the stuff that you go through, but some of the stuff that he goes through has a connection, for example dopamine motivation. I highly, highly recommend checking him out, he's a top-tier academic

That line you said it was "weird" I found it to be a gem of rare beauty, chords in there are Am7add13, Em9, C#m9, Cmadd9 really original stuff!
@PJAlphaMusic
@PJAlphaMusic Жыл бұрын
Exactly, I would love to know the reason behind it that kind of chords progression.
@FabioLovaglio
@FabioLovaglio Жыл бұрын
@@PJAlphaMusic Well, I think Mikeal in that period liked these chord progressions full of minor chords, it's a very black metal thing, they creates a very dark atmosphere especially when they're a semitone apart like the last two chords of this particular case. Because they're uncommon, the melodies that fit those chord progressions really strikes and surprise the listener like it did to me and I could see it happened to you too (that's the real beauty of the reaction videos btw). But those chord progressions wouldn't sound as cool as they do if they weren't voiced so cleverly as well with pedal tones and chromatic motions.

It is a really good album, no doubt! The thing that brings the older albums down a little bit for me is the production, but that is more true for Morningrise and especially Orchid! This one has pretty good production, not as good as later albums but still better than okay! :)
