nice tips as always. some additions: 1. in this case better use an ellipsoid not sphere. the ellipsoid UV grid is rectangular not polar, which is a lot handier for bending. 2. when bending, after rebuilding with at least 15UV, you could make the bend spine very small, exactly like the inner radius you want to achieve. So start from the edge of the box or a bit inner and away from it, by approximately your desired bend radius. then choose the second bend point so as the bend is desirable (from almost perfect to very distorted/melty bend). The stiffer/less fluid the material, the higher the bend radius/bend spine. So, explaining how the length of the bend spine influences the bend behaviour, would be very handy. 3. you could also use the cage editing function, again with 15x15 UV grid. 100% accurate, planar bending, no unpredictable bend results or non interactive flow along surface procedures, plus bend, melting and moving/fine tweaking, in one step. ;) best regards.

@@PJChenJewelryDesign another way would be to prepare an already bent sweep 2 rails surface. rails would be the bend, and profiles would 2D or 3D morph to the final shape. then flow surface the desired object to melt. with history enabled, would feel pretty editable. i have learned many tricks from this channel so happy to share back, anything that could be useful or food for thought.

Hello PJ, nice to draw an organic shape. I would like to be able to draw more organic forms such as a lizard. Is it possible to give a lesson about this once? Would be great!
@PJChenJewelryDesign5 жыл бұрын
you can try to pull and push control point from a close surface in Rhino. However, I will suggest to use Tspline or Clayoo plug in if you have. if not you can try the Sculptrix free software and bring in back to Rhino once it is done.

@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thank you for your answer. I have the Clayoo plug in but I do not know how it works. I will look on KZbin if there is an instruction video

which rhino version ? and how did you turn that color in blue plastic ?

I believe it was Rhino 6 when I made the video. You can just assign a blue plastic material on the object and view by render view

Cage edit can use on polysurface. and SetPt use on the control point from either surface or curve
