Great vid, showing a reefed crab claw. good job, How does the main sheet work once the boom is so high? can you still sheet in enough and go well to windward?? It looks effective, and seems to work well. congratulations.

Rael, apologies, but I have missed somehow your question. We can sheet enough to go nicely upwind, but you have to care not to pull the sheet to much. With the boom so high it is too easy to create so much compression in the mast then one can seriously bend or even break it.

Thank you for nice words, but it si that just proas are fantastic. Please be welcome to have a look my other vids on yt and to visit www.pjoa.eu. All my designs are build with great respect for Micronesian traditional engineering. And I don;t simply copy them but I have a lot of fun rediscovering why they have applied each and every solution. Kind of archaeology of engineering concepts which seems to be almost forgotten:(. There are compromises forced by usage of technology available here, of course, and making proas interesting to people in Europe, but I try to stay with basics from Oceania. I see you share very interesting music so I will be seeking your advice, if you don't mind :)
