Cuz our houses are built for a family to live there their whole life through hot summers and cold winters while stable enough to still be there for the families kids when they grow up and have kids and change hands once more for them to repeat this process, while in the U.S as i understand it, they mostly only live there a few years if f.e. they find a good job opportunity across the country they move there, in this case also unlike in europe, most people there move where they find a job, while in europe most people look for a job where they live, so they can stay in said home/house. Still i believe the housing style in the U.S is too saturated by poorly built and maintainted structures (partly faulted by the different kind of real estate market over there)

@@christianamort3062the US is so large, you kinda have to. I live in a small village essentially, where there is one place to work, an elevator factory. You have to drive 30 minutes minimum, closer to an hour to get to a grocery store, and it's Kroger and Walmart.

Sounds like they always take either the cheapest bid or the most expensive bid from a conglomerate as opposed to hiring local licenesed business which is 3/4ths of the most expensive bid.

Part of the problem is not hiring a licensed contractor because it costs more. Nobody likes a labor fee, but in the end its worth it and you're better off. Or you could keep hiring randos for a case of beer because instead of being a few thousand our of pocket, you're only $100 down. I'm all for saving money and DIY, but you have to spend money at some point.

It’s amazing neither of these 4 clued in for Taylor’s tree story that when he had it done , in their down seasons which is more than likely a wet season most people have enough common sense to understand that your grass is gonna be soft and rip up extra easy hence why no one is getting it done

I had three contractors in a row tear out my overhead cable even though I had pointed it out beforehand every time. I solved the problem and it has never been torn out since, now when I make them aware before starting I tell them it's there as an isolated power source so that there is less chance of it going off in any blackout situations which is important as it's running my grandma's life support machines They are now careful to a degree I've never witnessed also my Grandmother is absolutely fine still rides a bike & everything and yes she knows and found it funny even joked that she might come over next time and prank the poor men.

Yeah as someone who does HVaCR the amount of scumbag, lazy, and know it all's will blow your mind. It can be very difficult to find honest HVaC technicians but when you make sure you treat them well and be willing to pay for good service. I don't support people high balling at all. I also don't support people low balling at all. The customer should pay for your knowledge, skill, and time. Most technicians in any blue collar field suffer to be able to self reflect and truly see their own self worth. The ones that do usually make it far and do really well. When people don't self reflect and don't have integrity you get awful nightmare stories like these

Taylor got robbbbbbbed on tree service. Unless he’s got power lines and the trees are like 40ft plus. But dude, you gotta understand that grass grows back over the season and it’s very easy and cheap. Otherwise you’re paying for crazy labour to walk logs to the chipper. It’s such a specialized service most customers know the damages that will be made like the service person. But they should definitely be paying for the internet repairs

Pro tree climber here... Yeah, what they did to your lawn is unexceptable... Typically these questions are asked during the estimate by the salesman... You should always definitely read the fine print on your contract... You'll find companies exempt themselves from responsibility for lawn damage shrub damage and irrigation amd cable systems... They should have laid out a plywood path across your lawn and took one path... Sure you're gonna have a little lawn damage still but it midigates heavy damage. But also, "we're not exactly dropping pillows here sir."

If something is worth doing, its worth doing right the 1st time. If you try to save money with cheap contractors, fixing their fuckups will always cost more than if you just hired an actual professional in the 1st place. Always use licensed and insured businesses.
