Honestly, read the Bible as a possible historical text first. Then if you decide you feel something figure that out for yourself. If nothing else, it’s one of the first novels we have. And it’s a glimpse into life 2000-4000 years or so ago. It’s great, would recommend KJV (the newer versions are much easier to read but they take away a lot of the savagery IMO). And then once you learn about that learn more about history and it really starts to scare you, because you’ll realize there’s likely a common origin for these stories all cultures seem to have (specifically great flood stories and storm god vs. dragon stories, but so many more examples throughout the Bible and other religions in the area at the time. Look up leviathan story and compare it to Marduk vs. Tiamat. There's this trope among ancient cultures from the Japanese to the Maya to include "Feathered Serpents" or Dragons, and often times heros who stand against them. Google the word "Chaoskampf" Dozens of flood and storm god stories span the continents.

@36:42 The reason for this is described by Christ.. the same reason that He taught in parables.. He said literally it’s to make it harder to believe. Otherwise you would believe not by faith but by intellect.. which isn’t really faith.. knowing 2+2=4 isn’t faith.. except maybe faith that logic exists.. Things are to be understood spiritually.. thus isn’t just magic.. actually believing that a loving God rose Jesus from the dead is not supposed to be known as a logical fact because it is the one thing to believe in to put out trust in The God. Believing give us The Holy Spirit.. Understanding these passages spiritually means applying faith in Christ to all of these things and suddenly everything makes sense.. and then belief is indeed validated and verified in us as we study in the spirit. But seeing these things from the eyes of atheists is interesting. I also once disbelieved all of this.. until accepting that Truth can be relayed even without Facts.. and that even what we see as Mythology can relay more truth than some biased recorded history and if there actually is a God that cares He would have known exactly what stories needed o be recorded to relay certain Truth.. namely that Salvation in His Word has been available since the beginning.. Jesus means YHVH is my Salvation.. so anyone believing this Name, even before Jesus was born, was technically saved By Jesus.
