teratogens // because maternal and foetal blood can diffuse, drugs can diffuse into the foetus. This hinders the foetus' growth in according to it's gestation period. Different systems mature at different times with different critical and sensitive period. The lungs are last to form, so often times teratogens can affect the lungs resulting in things like asthma
