Places I've Never Been: Murphy Lake, Mount Uniacke | Ep. 2

I decided to make Murphy Lake my second location to explore as part of this series, and I had a great time. I forgot how much fun it is to go somewhere new. I found some odd things like a doll head, wagon wheel spoke, and an embossed bottle I've never seen (I ended up giving to a kid named Jude!)

Yup, hub of a wagon wheel. I have a whole narrative going about the ladies and gents on said wagon. It includes the kettle, the tea pot and the whiskey bottle. Nice finds Sean.

I'm a navy trained diver. Did some wreck diving back in the day, ice diving, cave diving, scallop diving and so on. Man, I miss being in the water. Been over 30 years now. Getting older sucks.

@@SaltwaterSean That's a long list. But the "scariest" thing was the wreck of Letitia. Not sure what shape it is in now but when I first dove her I wasn't expecting to run into an intact hull. Just appeared in front of me as my buddy was pointing out little pieces of the wreck on the seafloor, and I looked up and there it was and it startled me at first. Inspected it all around and we decided to penetrate and swim thru/under the wreck. Was a great experience. This was 40 years ago. My first wreck dive.

@@SaltwaterSean I just thought about this. On Halloween the clubs would have underwater pumpkin carving contests at night. The fish definitely swarmed us during those. And the lobster/crabs. We held them at Cranberry Cove.

Logging was huge in the early days of Mt.Uniacke also it was a stop over town .
