Amen. Perfect comment for this song - My beloved and I were fortunate enough to have seen him perform here in Izmir Turkey and everyone was so grateful for him coming here to entertain us. My loving wife of 17 years passed away 40 days ago. I made a few changes to the lyrics of this great song (the changes make it so personal). I do still cry when I dig up her memories. Last night I dug your picture out from our old dresser drawer I set it on the table and I talked to it 'til four I read some old love letters right up 'til the break of dawn Yeah I've been sittin' alone diggin' up bones [Verse 2:] Then I went through the jewelry and found your wedding rings I found the lovely watch you wore, and a few other precious things Then I cried and weep all night, for our poor empty home Yeah tonight I'm sitting alone diggin' up bones [Chorus:] I'm diggin' up bones, I'm diggin' up bones Exhuming things that's better left alone I'm resurrecting memories of my wife, who’s dead and gone Yeah tonight I'm sittin' alone diggin' up bones [Verse 3:] And I went through the closet and I found some things in there Like that pretty negligee that I bought her to wear And I recall how good she looked each time she had it on Yeah tonight I'm sittin' alone diggin' up bones [Chorus] I'm diggin' up bones, I'm diggin' up bones Exhuming things that's better left alone I'm resurrecting memories of my wife, who’s dead and gone Yeah tonight I'm sittin' alone diggin' up bones

My dad bought a 2000 Chevy Astro back in 2014. It wasn’t healty at all, engine didn’t want to start half of the time, rust partied a little bit everywhere, it was roughly worth it’s 500$. The guy who sold it left a CD album on the dash. So my dad kept on workin’ on it every spare time he had until it finally drove like a brand new truck on a fresh made road. When it got back on it’s wheels, he entered the CD it had well earned and next thing you know, this beast of a truck has been driving miles after miles 5 days a week, rocking to Randy Travis everytime it hits a long country road it can ride. So many memories got in there, it will be soon time for it to pursue it’s story with a new family that will, just like us, find Randy Travis hangin’ on the dash.

Let's just say I've never been a country music "enthusiast", don't even listen to it, but I can 'Appreciate' music from country all the way to Mozart. And I liked Randy Travis the first time I saw him on some short clip on some TV show some many, Many, years ago. It was something about him, personally. He struck me as a good person with a good heart and a good soul. And, to me, what a Man is supposed to be. And I'm thinking it might have been a talk show because I'm fairly sure he hadn't even sang yet. :o And when he did, I was sure that my opinion of him was correct.

I didn't listen to country until 1988 when I bought a Randy Travis album. Named My son Travis and I never looked back.
