There was one step that I cut out, because it was taking up too much time. When I put the DV files on the iMac G3, there was no sound in the videos on the iMac. So I also had to export MP3s of the videos' audio, and I combined the DV and MP3 files using iMovie on the iMac G3. From multiple imports and exports, the quality was probably downgraded, and could have been better.

Thanks for making this. It was a fun trip down memory lane. I started editing in 1996, and that was a coveted iMac because of the "DV." If I recall, that was the first time with Firewire - that you could connect to your camera and transfer AND control the tape deck with. MiniDV still stands as the worst format I ever used. It would rewind so fast, impossible to really scrub through and just wasn't frame accurate. We have it much better meow.

That white eMac you show in the beginning is my favorite old Mac by far, it just looks so aesthetically pleasing and probably far ahead of it's time. (I mean compare it to what PCs looked like at that time period, black plastic and ugly shapes. Not to say I don't like old PCs they have a place in my heart too.) They used to be 20 bucks on ebay and easy to get hold of, not so much now unfortunately when I'm actually old enough to buy one and get it shipped. They're not even as easy to find as they used to be.
