What class of airspace?? Lets get the whole picture first...

That voice of the pilot is the same voice for many different ATCs on these shorts. Are these fake transmissions?

The voice was made by ai because there wasn’t audio transcripts or the voice too bad to understand

Thanks Aviation Insight for ONCE AGAIN failing to provide ANY necessary details regarding this incident. This could have happened on Mars for all we know…..

If it’s like some class D I’ve been to…he probably lost the mic under the pizza boxes. There have been multiple times where I’ve called a “contract” tower and it was a such a long delay I’ve checked my radios. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if the controller was to blame here.

So he couldn't get hold of anybody, thought the radio might be not working and just decides to land?? Should be fired

Sounds like a class D airspace.

You still don't come straight in land blind in any airspace. There's established protocols and rules for inoperative radio plus no visibility.

Plus most class D have part time tower. You're probably thinking of class E.

The tower probably didn't give a green light. Or this was not towered??
@Jivvi15 сағат бұрын
The tower was closed. The vehicles on the ground were supposed to be listening into the frequency. If I remember correctly, there were two separate frequencies, one for ground and one for ATC, and they were supposed to be listening to both when the tower is closed, but they were only listening to the ground frequency, which is what the other plane used; that's why he said "We'll do our reports too." He did everything right and switched to the ground frequency after landing, but no one was listening to the ATC frequency.

It wasnt the pilots fault if i remember correctly

When, what airport, what report?
@smgibb3 сағат бұрын
This happened at CYAM over 7 years ago. IIRC the airport this happened at is only controlled for certain periods of the day and they landed around the change-over period. So the pilots thought it was still uncontrolled and there was no notice about runway closures. So when they made radio calls and got no response, that wasn't really out of the ordinary. When they landed and saw the vehicles, that's when they figured something was going on with radio.

Some people shouldn’t be pilots
@DefinitelyNotaRussianSpyКүн бұрын
If I remember correctly, it was the ground vehicle that had a malfunctioning or off radio, not the pilots fault. Don’t jump to conclusions.

Some people shouldn’t have an opinion about stuff they know nothing about. This was an uncontrolled airport. The maintanance ground crew is supposed to clear the runway when an airplane lands. What you bearded was the ground crew manager trying to cover his mistake. It was investigated and the pilots were not at fault.
