You amaze me with your walks! In this country 🇨🇦 if people can’t park their cars within 10 parking slots they drive around again or say forget it and you did that marathon walk for us to see your magnificent country. Thank you so much. A wonderful way for US to enjoy Scotland!

I did this walk back in the summer from Glasgow City Centre. Started at Central Station then joined cycle path 7 from Crowne Plaza hotel. Headed through Scotstoun, Clydebank then onwards to Dumbarton then River Leven path to Loch Lomond. Took just under 7 hours. It was hard work, especially near finish at Balloch. Approximately 20 miles. Well done for your walk. Good effort.

Hi Mark. That walk of yours was some trek. It's good to get fresh air in your lungs and get the cobwebs out of the head occasionally. Stay safe.

Did I enjoy it? Yes indeed I did! My sister and I, with our spouses, did a trip to Scotland about three years ago. Somewhat of a pilgrimage to visit the birthplace of our father. Dundee. We spent two weeks in Scotland and loved it. But there was so much we didn't see. And your channel helps us to see things we missed. Thanks for walking the hard yards Scott. You put a glow in the heart of a seventy five year old son of a Scotsman in sunny Queensland. But a bonny lad at heart. I enjoy your videos very much.

Hello Scott. I used to live in Erskine and would walk from the bus loop at Sempell Ave all the way to Renfrew, have a cuppa in Aulds and continue on to Braehead everyday for 3 years. I lost 3 stones in weight the 1st year and would weigh down my backpack to make it harder. That stretch of the road from the Red Smiddy was dangerous especially on the bend just after the r/bout and i had to quickly jump back onto the grass verge if drivers didn`t see you quick enough. Walking for me from Erskine to Renfrew Cross took me 40 minutes. I loved walking before my legs and feet became bad. I also had to take at least 6 t/shirts with me as they were all soaking with sweat in the summer when i got back home.

Hi Andy and thanks for your comment. Most roads seen to have some sort of pavement or grass verge, but when I checked out Google Streetview before the walk, I almost decided against it because of this stretch of road. I resigned myself to jumping into the hedge should any cars get too close.

I envy your the ability to complete it - great going. Thanks for taking us along. Though we did not get to see the final scene we did get to see many great things along the way. Thank you, Scott.

Hi Ken and thanks for your comment. It's funny how I had a picture in my mind of the ship and Loch Lomond as a closing scene, and the drizzle and ship sitting high and dry came as a complete surprise.

Awesome effort Scott and such an enjoyable video! Sorry about the knee pain - unfortunately something I can relate to!

Hi Steve, I do some event security work at football grounds and recently spent way too much time on my feet during COP26. I thought the legs would have been primed and ready for the walk, but obviously not. Stay safe.

Balloch - my neck of the woods! The path at the end of your walk is one I walk regularly. The Maid of the Loch will be going back to her original white and buff livery when she's restored - she'll be getting painted soon! I recently walked from Alexandria to Balmaha and back to Drymen (not all at once but over two Saturdays - two excellent walks), I had thought about vlogging it, but I ended up not filming much of it as I kept forgetting! I've walked from Clydebank to Balloch before and thoroughly enjoyed it, but yes the signposts disappear in Dumbarton. If you don't know the area it can be difficult to find the cycle path again. Well done on doing the walk, I doubt I could manage so many miles in the one go (14 seems to be my limit right now!).

Hi Sue, I hadn't realised The Maid was being restored, so when I saw it high and dry, I just stood there and thought how am I going to finish this video without a nice ship in the background. It's funny how I have this picture in your mind how you think things will finish, and so often I'm completely caught by surprise. It's the first time I've walked along the River Leven. It's a lovely hike.

Great video Scott! I'll be attempting this walk in a few days and your video inspires me to go ahead with it. I fear I'll get similar weather to yours once I reach Loch Lomond but it's all about the journey not the destination right? 😅 Best, Derek

You can buy a product from Boots called Voltarol gel, it comes in a few varieties and I can attest to its effectiveness in soothing sore joints and muscles, just the thing to keep in the back pack.

There are actually pavements throughout erskine, they're just separated from vehicle traffic which is genius if you can find them.😉

Hi Scott , I enjoyed this great wee video . When you took the shots looking down onto the canal from the bridge , did you know it's the only place in the world , that has a canal , an A road ( Dumbarton Rd ) , A boulevard A82 , a motorway the A8 (M ) and a river , the Clyde so all of these running parallel . Best regards , great video .
@robertmccall3462 жыл бұрын
The stage from Paisley and over the Erskine Bridge would not be to my liking as I hate busy roads and heights. The route through Dumbarton looks a bit tricky. You did really well and perhaps I'll try that journey from Clydebank sometime.

Hi...Just wondering, how did you get back home? Is there a convenient bus service which takes you straight back to Paisley?🤔
@PlanesTrainsEverything3 жыл бұрын
Hi Suneel, unfortunately not. The quickest way home was to catch a train into Glasgow and then a connection onto Paisley. It took around an hour to get home, and certainly quicker than walking!
