I don't know about everyone else, but I think you should try to finish everything before moving on to something else. Like I'd rather watch you spend two hours on the polar bear exhibit than 25 minutes on it only to be 1/4 complete and then move on to something else. It makes it easier to miss something when you're jumping around, too.

Don't forget to add trash bins to the Arctic Area The reason your trains are skipping a station is because you have 4 trains so one train will always be next to another and because you have "don't block station" turned on, the train won't pick anyone up
@BrunstigElg5 жыл бұрын
I would think it would be more effective to have more train carts vs. more trains. Every train without passengers is money out the window; it's just Running Costs without income. Likewise, every single guest waiting in line is an expensive (or at least: a missed opportunity of income) as time spent waiting in line = time NOT spent donating or buying stuff. So yeah max out the number of carts on 3 of the trains and sell the forth train. It's all about maximizing profit (which also explains why low workload is yellow; it's payment-costs, but if the employee goes idle, they're not producing anything for that payment-cost) (Also; I read somewhere that gift shops with weird hats are the way to go. People love weird hats)

Thanks for the update. The polar bear habitat looks impressive! I love your style and all, but now that we’ve seen financial challenges yet again maybe it’s time to try finish things one at a time. Doesn’t have to be 100% finished, just functioning. Doing things halfway means that you have no capital turnover. Some suggestions: - Move the stalls (currently not in use) from Tapier Tavern to the Polar bear place instead of buying more. - Remove the path to force people to take the train to see the polar bears. - The education items in the underground view of the polar bears are not on. - Flatten the land in polar bear habitat to close to the water level so the bears can access. - A common problem with polar bears that I noticed from other youtubers playing is that since the habitat is too big, people complain about not getting a good view. - Increase the food & drink price. Check if you can increase ticket price now that you just got new animals in. I hate this too, but consider charging more for the washrooms (temporarily if you want). - Once you start earning money, focus on the services in the 2 big buildings to make more cash. Please wait until you’re at around 50k before starting something new.

I think you should put ATM just at the entry point of any enclosure, cause in case of polar bear enclosure, what I think is that, people spend all their money by riding the train, and if you board from India entrance, you'll only find one ATM, that too in plaza Mor! After that they're spending everywhere and by the time they come to polar bears they don't have any money left.

The donations at the polar bear place are a serious issue. I'd actually suggest expanding the porch area and putting food and drink stalls out there, up to the north actually. That way you can have people go out to the balcony to get food etc. And it'll incentivize them to get the better view where they'll not have to strain to look through glass. The reasoning is you'll notice no one who stays at the bear exhibit stay for long whatsoever. It's likely because they either can't see the bears or there's not enough else to do. I'd also cut the whole of those 2-3 "ponds" east side of the habitat. Just get rid of them, because you don't want the bears over there since it's so far away from the balcony.
@PartyElite5 жыл бұрын
Yeah need to tighten that area up quick!

If all the land are not connected i mean like the center piece of your polar bear exhibit the place will get dirty and keepers won't be able to reach and animals may get diseases. And they cant reach food or anything placed over where the land isn't connected. And underground tunnel tva nd speakers aren't assigned. And besides that you trying one thing and dedicating one or two things totally per episode is better than getting distracted every other time.
@sweetysmart05055 жыл бұрын

Your exhibit animals are quick money makers, maybe it’s time to get a few new ones at Tapir Tavern, they pay for themselves really quickly and it gives people a reason to go over there so your train may make some more money. Also, your keepers won’t be able to clean all your polar bear islands, maybe go with a peninsula instead?

My favourite game series! Some comments/feedback: -There is no power at the peafowl education board, you can spot it at 2:44. -There was a habitat disease risk in the previous episode that you didn't address. -India train station name: "orient express" -Guest experience should be improved like more benches, bins, parks and rec, beautifications of the entrance with more small plants, flowers, more washrooms. it seems like there is a blank space to be filled outside indian plaza. -Raise ticket prices a bit? it's almost a 5 star zoo i'm sure they won't mind it. - Add some garbage bins at the underground polar exhibit. Also turn on the underground education boards to polar bears as they are blank now. - Increasing food prices could be a profit because your staff wages are currently at almost $70k, to upkeep that try adding more market opportunities.

I am very much enjoying this series, so please keep it up. You do really need to fix the polar bear exhibit, so the keepers can reach all the areas to keep them clean. You have enough people coming to that area, now to get money from them. I'm sure once you add shops (and bathrooms) to that area and put a roof on it, people will start spending money. (Don't forget to add ATMs so they can get their hands on more money.) Maybe instead of putting more exhibits underground, add a couple to the Polar shelter, giving more things to look at and donate to. Hopefully you will be able to turn the zoo around and start making money again.

I personally like when you bounce between things but not when it’s then left unfinished for a longggg time. Such as the plains were made awhile ago but still don’t seem completely done (lack of plants/big empty patches with nothing at all, not even rocks) and that gets a little frustrating personally. But watching just one thing done isn’t what I enjoy myself. I like to see a balance of management gameplay and speed builds, but hate just watching 20-40 minute speed build episodes other creators make with nothing else? I’m not sure if that makes any sense

Not meant to offend - but I find myself yelling at my computer screen sometimes watching you play lol. Please check your alerts and solve them before getting distracted by something else. Especially when staff can't get to exhibits and then animals suffer. I feel like you get panicky over money and then rush and lose focus - also when creating new exhibits, I know it can be super exciting to design and build but you get carried away and do too much and your money suffers because of it. Take your time - slow down and finish the exhibits. It's perfectly normal to spend a lot of money on staff. You need staff to keep the zoo running properly. Your priorities should be your animals, staff and then everything else. You are doing well so far - and since the first two episodes I haven't yelled at my screen until this episode haha...keep up the good work! Oh man, what a stressful episode 😅 You might want to check the peafowl exhibit, see if the young have aged up yet. Might be a good idea to trade some "lesser value" animals for cash instead of conservation credits, like the bison and what not. Polar bear exhibit seems pretty big too...so much going on. I like the idea of splitting that exhibit in two, maybe once this current pair has had offspring then it can go to the other half? It definitely needs more paths going around it, either above ground or below, so guests can get better views of the entire thing The smaller exhibit animals might be better at tapir tavern instead of the underground area too! It could help bring in more people to that area. Whatever happens I'm sure you'll figure it out. Love this series, and its chaos aha. Good luck :')

I get what he means.. yes the bouncing around can get frustrating at times and feels like you spent an entire video and nothing was finished and same goes to just sticking with one thing to completion can seem like it drags and an entire episode for one thing to be done it's hard trying to find a middle ground maybe dedicate every other episode to beautification and touch ups and the rest dedicated to progress?? Perhaps? It's an idea but ultimately we might have to accept that either way has its cons... awesome video/series elite.. gets me inspired by your zoo and gives me ideas for my own

A couple of friendly suggestions: 1. The TVs in the polar bear exhibit underwater area aren't assigned 2. Maybe you should move one of the food stalls at tapier tavern to the polar bear exhibit, that way you don't have to pay for one and you earn more money since the polar bear exhibit has more people 3. You should move the donation bins and information boards that are up against the wall in the bear exhibit and put them in the fort part of the windows. Its less aesthetic but it will get you more donations
@mississippitransman86175 жыл бұрын
Maybe instead of the paw print being islands, it should actually be made of little glacier lakes. That way you can still have the paw print but your staff can still reach everything. Also, the enclosure is too big. I don’t mind you skipping from thing to thing, but what I do mind is you skipping from continent section to continent section. It is very distracting and causes a lot of unnecessary building that doesn’t draw as many guests as it should because there isn’t a good exhibit to food shop ratio. This also ends up costing you a lot of money. Tapir Tavern is just sitting empty but if it had been expanded into the Africa section it would be booming. Same goes for the India section. We were promised tigers! Now it might be a month before we get them because you want to set up the Arctic section. Hopefully you stick with it and finish it so that you don’t keep losing so much money. I feel like you aren’t spending enough time figuring out how to manage your staff appropriately so that you aren’t guessing whether you have too many or not.

Edit: now I’ve finished watching.. might make more sense when building new enclosures to make them a good size without overdoing it then expand when you can afford to as opposed to going over the top initially and never catching up to the money you spend. Could also be worth shrinking a few enclosures because as you say if they’re bigger than what they need the guests are getting great views and the donations will then suffer. More exhibits sound necessary, in the cavern and the tapir station building (can’t think of its named or not yet) exhibits are great money makers as we know. Hope this helps, keep it up!

The polar bear habitat is glorious, even if it still needs some tweaks, I love the paw print design. -You fired a vet and now the America west work zone is missing a vet. I'd overlap the Tapir to Americas East work zone, then the East vet can be used to fill the requirement and keep it with a lower workload, even if there is a bit more distance. -I agree with thinning out the bison herd, I think half your current number would still be fine. -I also liked the suggestion of moving one of your vendor stalls from the tavern to the artic, then assign vendors with low workloads to the new shops. -Sell your peafowl for cash, I think right now cash is worth more than 50 credits. - Don't forget to have a vet clear away the dead bison, you clicked on the poor gal, but didn't call a vet, and she'll sit there until you do - Once you have enough, get exhibits in the tavern and a toilet block in the artic, plus more atm's before habitats equals more cash. And bins once out of crisis.

I agree with a lot of people - bouncing around too much can make it feel like nothing is truly getting done. I really love beautification time lapses as you can see the clear improvement to the zoo. If anything - doing episodes focused around one enclosure is fine - you can make that enclosure look better - and the welfare of the animals will probably go up too. All the new DLC is exciting and we are all here to see it but it feels like the rest of the zoo might be zooming ahead and things are being left unfinished. Just remain calm and keep up the good work. I can't wait to see what is going to happen at the Elite Zoo.

I wouldn’t fire any staff, you’ve spent money training them up, which if in future you have to rehire you’ll have to retrain and waste more money. But I did notice you only fired the less trained staff. I’m feeling bummed out for you 😞 one second you had 30k and then all of a sudden you just plummeted! Hopefully you can get things back to where they were!!! ❤️ also I know you put a lot of time into the polar bear habitat, but how are the keepers meant to reach the islands to clean, also I’m pretty sure polar bears don’t actually like water, they only deal with it because it carries their food source. There are ice glacier rocks and the snow covered rocks you already used to amp up the habitat. I think it is much too large as you’ve said yourself and would take a keeper an entire year to clean haha 😆

@SkyReapr5 жыл бұрын
Estefania Rey no no, they really don’t.. most of their time is spent on Sea ice and land :) Polar bears inhabit arctic sea ice, water, islands, and continental coastlines. Polar bears prefer sea ice habitat with leads and polynyas, next to continental coastlines or islands. Leads are water channels or cracks through ice which may remain open (ice free) for only a few minutes to several months, depending upon weather conditions and water currents. Polar bears hunt seals in the leads, using sea ice as a platform. Polynyas are areas of water, surrounded by ice, that remain open throughout the year due to winds, upwellings, and tidal currents. Polynyas are important breathing and feeding areas for wintering or migrating marine mammals and birds. Some polar bears follow the southern edge of the ice pack year-round, making extensive migrations as the ice recedes and advances. Some polar bears spend part of the year on land. They have been found as far inland as 402 km (250 mi.). Polar bears in warmer climates may become stranded on land. In summer, sea ice melts along the coastlines, and pack ice (floating sea ice, or floes, not connected to land) moves so far north, that polar bears can't reach it, even though they are excellent swimmers. Most pregnant females spend the autumn and winter on land in maternity dens. Air temperatures in the Arctic average -34°C (-29°F) in winter and 0°C (32°F) in summer. The coldest area in winter is northeastern Siberia, where the temperature has been recorded as low as -69°C (-92°F). The warmest areas in summer are inland regions of Siberia, Alaska, and Canada where temperatures can reach as high as 32°C (90°F). The ocean temperatures in the Arctic are about -1.5°C (29°F) in summer. In winter the ocean temperatures can drop to -2°C (28°F), at which point seawater begins to freeze.

Polar bears don't like or dislike water, but it is part of their natural habitat. Polar bears are known for swimming long distances during the changing of the seasons, using water as a food source, and escaping from predators like wolves using the water. They've also been known to just swim to cool themselves down or simply for physical activity. Of course, they are still land animals, but water is still a large part of their life. However, I do agree with you. His habitat needs more land, less water.

I agree with most people but I wanted to bring up one new thing: Be careful of the stats of some of the animals you buy, for example, the new hairless Mexican scorpion and the Brazilian wandering spider had really low longevity stats and probably died within the episode. The polar bear habit is super cute and very creative. One of the best things about this channel is how well and creatively you come up with things. This however was hard to watch. Having you so stressed made it so I was stressed for you. A few suggestions one take down the work zones. Fire a lot of staff even temporally and let them be overworked for a while. Move the shops from the tavern to the polar bears to start making money. Increase the ticket, train, food, ATM, bathroom prices. Take away the breakroom perk. Sell the animals for cash in your storage along with the excessive bision, peafowl, and turtles. Rework the train so it picks up the passengers to make ticket sales. Think about creating a space to leave items for future use as you don't get refunded the amount you spend on the things you delete. You have a water treatment plant that failed I believe it isn't in a work zone or wasn't connected to a path. One of the Brazilian wandering Spiders in the trade center is the very expensive mother you just purchased. You'll know her because she's gold quality. Put more exhibits up with special attention to the quality of the parents. When you first started breeding them you got top dollar due to much superior genes. Your customers are getting ridiculous amounts of refunds due to unhappiness I would address their concerns. The animals food quality can be lowered and some food enrichment taken away. Please do the beatification pass you've been thinking about. We are all super invested in the zoo and I know that you will turn things around.

Don’t have any critiques, and maybe this is TMI, but I had an extremely stressful weekend after I was rear-ended on the freeway, and now I finally have a minute to try and escape, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for the content! Looking forward to the next episode.

For the snow area, maybe you could make a giant facade of an iceberg as a backdrop so when you are in the workshop, the polar bear exhibit doesn't look so out of place. Then you could also make ice caves within the massive ice berg where people can get amazing views of the polar bears.

Since we hit a money hurdle here, I think a good next step would be to halt expansion (even though its always exciting to get more animals!) and do a grand maintenance/beautification episode where you focus on getting all the existing enclosures/work zones/etc. fully functional and cost-effective and maybe prettied up. I think you have to let the zoo breathe and kind of find its equilibrium for at least half a year (in-game, lol) before expanding further. Get your staff well-trained, find the right balance for your work zones, research a bunch. I agree with the comments about raising prices for food and charging for bathrooms, at least until the funds come back. Get more ATMs. Someone also suggested moving the food stall from tapier tavern to the polar bear exhibit since there's more traffic there. Don't be afraid to pause progress for a session (or even two) just because some people might find it "boring." A failing zoo is boring LOL. When you think about it, there's been a lot of expansion lately and it's been a while since we've had a session dedicated mostly to maintenance and beautification, so it makes sense to have to take a breather to make sure everything's working for the zoo now. Thanks for the great content as always!

Hey i have a few hours in Planet Zoo. an easy way to get cheeta's are lions and cheeta's. Buy good ones on the market and then release the children on the wild. Good cheeta's go for 1000 cc and you can release them for 900 cc in the wild (so 1 male and 1 female is 2000 cc but you can get 8X900 cc if you release all the kittens in the wild). Now for lions, they go for 1500 cc. But you can release the cubs for 1000-1500 cc (the prob with lions is they are expansive to feed. Best thing you can do with lions is 3 good females and 1 good male. Youre CC will rise exponantionaly. Great content, keep it up!

What an unfortunate turn, but I am really happy about the new episode - I hope things can go better in the next. I have a few suggestions that might help: * There is no vet assigned to the Tapiers, since the work zone itself does not have a vet. If a vet is not specifically assigned to tend to an enclosure, there will be no access to it - which is why you got the error. - even though the staff may use the central staff buildings, no vet is specifically assigned to the zone - Americas (West). * Speaking of Americas (West) - you could now probably open those vending shops, since there are people using the trains, and gain extra money through that in stead of having your vendors rest - You could also put exhibits there to attract more people to the west and to tempt them to use the trains since it's closer - thereby earning the money back on those vendors and the shops - possibly. * You still have to assign the Polar express and the Ta-Pier Train to work zones so that mechanics can fix them if needed, since they seem to be making money now. * The viewing windows concept is quite good, but most visitors only stop once to see an enclosure - so the fact that they can only partly see into the enclosure from the windows may affect their willingness to donate. Also, maybe add some ATMs to the Workshop as well.

Your polar bears aren't the problem. The latest update had some serious changes in costs. My zoo had a hearty $2.2 million and growing. Now, so far, I've lost $800,000 trying to stabilize my costs/profits. Assuming it's not a bug, you'll need to seriously reduce your costs, charge more for things, and keep guests happy (to prevent refunds). Edit: After another $400,00 drop, I've finally stabilized. I had to fire all my 5-star staff and replace with 1-star staff, create 7 new habitats (that look like crap, but I was desperate), and drop all my food quality down to level 1. I also charge 50c more on all vendor items, including bathrooms and ATMs... At this point, one year I'll be positive $60,000, the next year I'll be negative $60,000. Absolutely crazy... Maybe some of these changes will help your zoo too. Good luck! Note: My zoo is about 7 times the size of yours and I only have 6 mechanics, 3 vets, and 13 keepers. Definitely fire some staff. For the size of your zoo, 1-2 mechanics and 1-2 vets is fine, and no more than 1 keeper per habitat. Also, take the mechanics and vets out of all work zones, otherwise they waste their time doing nothing when another zone could use their help..

Hey, again I love your series! I noticed that with my Tiger's that they weren't bringing in enough donations to pay for themselves let alone make a profit. Click on your habitat gate, that'll tell you how much the food is. My suspicion is that it's the Polar Bear food. Also, with your train, change your min load size to any, that'll unblock your station because it doesn't force any ride size rules.
@jayne11655 жыл бұрын
A common complaint with the polar bear’s habits is because they are so big the bears can he hard to get a good view point on. Would a walkway over the habitat help with this? Donations points along walk way, extra education. Might keep the guests in the area for longer and maybe help with the queue for the train ride back? Good luck with getting your finances back on track. Definitely work on getting the food and drink shops in place. Even if you borrow them (from taper tavern) until you can afford to buy them.

I am enjoying this series so much! Keep it up! Also don't freak out too much about the money, it fluctuates. I think by incorporating some of the suggestions from the comments you will be back in the green.

Love this! I agree with the other comments about not hating the jumping around BUT I personally would want to watch you actually finish and not feel bad about spending too long on something. I really would love that. I also think you should shrink the polar bear exhibit. You can for sure still get the idea you want in a smaller area 😁 so take your time and not feel bad about doing what is best for you! We watch this because its great!

So happy to see this series continuing! Best zoo on youtube! Keep the good work and i hope the zoo turns around and starts making money. Also, the polar bear habitat its too big to be seen, i think you should split it, maybe when they get offspring. Cheers

So because I don't actually play video games typically, I've been humming and hawing for a couple weeks now about subscribing. Today I found myself checking in a few times to see if you had uploaded a new planet zoo video and just now when I saw you had I got so excited that all I thought is that I should definitely subscribe. I love this game and I really like your style of playing it, especially because your top priority is the welfare of the animals. Now I'm genuinely considering giving the game to myself for Christmas 💜

Love the idea of the new polar bear habitat! But I think the land might have to be connected to be kept clean unfortunately :( my zoo took a financial dip like that and I fixed it by firing staff. You should note that the polar bears will be the most appealing animals in your zoo so most people will go to see them. If they’re not donating, this is likely where you are losing out on A LOT of money, since the zoo depends on donations to remain open

Sometimes you have too many viewing options, once they have seen the animals they don't go further. You therefore want to maybe use more solid walls and funnel them to one maybe two viewing places and max out the donation bins there.
