This is fantastic - well-explained and easily understood. I'm primarily a DS imager, but planetary has always been a challenge, so this is great - many thanks. - - Steve

Discovered your channel in looking for how to properly use the ZWO ADC and stayed for several of your other videos. I have been doing planetary capture for a few years now but definitely got a few tidbits out of each video that I watched. Especially enjoyed your take on "why bother" to do this if someone else can take a better image - spot on in terms of competing against yourself and taking satisfaction in what you can accomplish. Indeed, what we can do compared to when I started this hobby 50 years ago blows my mind :-) Thanks for putting these together for our amateur astronomy community!

Great comments about us carrying on their legacy! Now we can tell our spouses this to account for the time spent imaging and processing...lol. But seriously, thank you for your videos. You rock!!!

This was very helpful up to a point, but... I use a mono camera, and you explained how to combine rgb images so quickly I couldn't follow it. I tried over and over with no luck.

Loved this video. My recommendation for the future is to show us how to display the moons for Jupiter and Saturn

Hi Jeremiah. Question : If you have, say, 6 images in one particular night, what time do you enter in the program? Do you enter the mid exposure time of the middle video of the series? Not sure. - - Steve

Thank you so much for this video! I have a quick question. My images with a 9.25" SCT don´t come out of Autostakkert looking as clear as yours and the details/edges needed for the alignment only become sharp enough as soon as I process the image in Registaxx. So can I just process them in Registaxx first and then import into WinJupos or am I doing something wrong at this point? haha.

Awesome video, which scope did you use to capture the data for the video?

Do you use Registax to sharpen images first before Winjupos?

Great video, but one thing: when you were doing "measure distance", i dont think thats quite what you meant? I think its just F11 to auto adjust each loaded image or under "Adj" "Outline frame" "automatic detection", then save the ims (f2) on each frame? Double checking maybe i misunderstood; Also, is the latitude and longitude (geographical location in the settings) important as well, some folks seem to show that set and others dont.

You are 100% right. That is an unneeded step and I have been meaning to do an updated video on WinJupos as a whole because people can’t grasp the concept. As for the lat/lon, I have tried setting and saving my location and for some reason it doesn’t accept it. The time is the most important setting I believe, especially when moons are involved. I noticed that a few weeks ago with the IO transit and the culprit was my computer was 3 minutes slow 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@InsertAstroNameHere cool ok I was just checking yea the save geo thing isn't working for me either, in fact it seems to change each image I load. I'm having an issue just stacking 4 images in winjupos right now (no issues in past) the final image is a blur basically, maybe my clock was off too, need to check
