Today, I met up with my friend Aleksander, a Warsaw native and a guide. Together, we set out to explore a really interesting, artistic and diverse neighborhood on the northern edge of the city.
As someone who had been exploring Warsaw extensively, I thought that I had seen it all. However, this neighborhood was truly unique and interesting with a particular "artistic" vibe about it. I will be returning.

In Cracow there is also a part of town called Bielany - due to the same reason. Bielany can be translated as 'spot of the white' - as both Bielany were built as monasteries of cameldoli monks who wear white ropes. These nice tiny houses were their cells because cameldoli live as hermits and they limit contact and talks with the other brethren to necessary minimum - each of monks has his own tiny house (with tiny garden) where spends most of days for prayer (8 hours a day), work (8 hours) and rest (also 8 hours). I don't think Warsaw Bielany are still occupied by the cameldoli, but those in Cracow do, the monks still live there.

If you go just outside of Warsaw in north-west direction you will get to Kampinos National Park. It is second biggest National Park in Poland. There are mostly forests and meadows, forested dunes and wetlands. There is wild nature and if you are lucky you may meet there not only wild boar but also moose (elk) or wolf and many other wild species. These is really something special for Warsaw since only few capitol cities in the world are neighboring with National Park. To get there you have to go to last metro station - Młociny and then take normal city bus no. 210 to Truskaw. It is only about 40 minutes’ drive. In the national park you are allowed to walk only on marked waking trails but there are hundreds kilometers of them.

Wow finally you visited Bielany. It is my neighborhood( not quite that part but still close) and I was waiting for you to visit it. About Bielany it is quite far from city centre but with Metro it got better and bielany definitely has some pros. It is greener than most areas and has that city within the city feel to it. The retro shop you visited is the nearest shop from my mother's workplace and kinda cool to see you guys being there. Also it is fun to see someone explore areas that are near you that you haven't seen like for me when you were walking those small streets on Stare Bielany that I've never been to living in Bielany for more than 20 years. Definitely it's time for me to go for a walk some time and explore my lovely Bielany.

While summer lasts, come to Wawer, it is the biggest Warsaw district, yet the least populated due to huge amount of nature. Forests (huge amount of landscape parks, like Mazowiecki Park Krajobrazowy), south-east bank of the Wisła river with lots of nature reserves like Wyspy Zawadowskie, cool wild beaches and countles bike and tourist trails. It has got enormous diversity of wild animals that you can meet radomly: mooses, deers, boars, foxes, beavers (near the river), weasels and countles kind of birds. When the child will be born I'm sure you would love Helenów- mini zoo in the middle of the forest with fun animals (like mini kangaroos, alpacas, horses, sheeps, goats, rabbits, hens, ducks etc) and lovely park with small lake, outside gym and playgrounds, compeletly free of charge and open every single day. I live here all my life so am not objective but I hear from the people from different districts that it is a great place to recharge and taste different kind of Warsaw than more centric areas ;)

Hey James. I wanted to share with you a little tiny poem which perfectly fits your fetish for balconies 😀 There is also a song with this lyrics by *Grzegorz Turnau* . You can find it on YT... Hope you'll have fun with translating it to English or Ukrainian.
