after supernova and armageddon, aespa has, in my opinion, become *the* quintessential 4th gen group. i may even go far as to say they're running the kpop scene at the moment! their career has been so amazingly consistent from start to finish (yes even girls is a 9/10 comeback idc) and with their current trajectory, they're seriously becoming one of the greats in kpop. im really looking forward on how their next few comebacks are gonna look like because i thought drama was gonna be their peak but i was proven wrong TWICE after that lmao

So no, I don't really agree with you, because if before we could say that the 4th generation was ruled by G-idle and Itzy. Today, 4 groups rule this scene in a balanced way (Itzy, G-idle, Ive and Aespa). On the other hand, I'd say there's been an explosion in the 4th generation, regardless of agency size or popularity.

My girls aespa! They're truly at their best when tackling a more bonkers sound (Next Level, Supernova, Spicy, Yeppi Yeppi). While I'm not a big fan of Armageddon and truly hope they won't explore that sound any further, the amazing Supernova (with that *INSANE* production) more than makes up for it and singlehandedly marks this era as my favourite aespa era. Easily my favourite newer gen girl group.

I completely agree 💀 any tracks like Armageddon need to STAY in the vault. The play on words they do in some of the song is cute but the way the bridges/prechoruses/verses? Idk the correct terminology drag the track down unbearably. And it wasn’t like it was slowing down with a purpose either. It kinda felt a little lazy if anything. Anyways but yes totally agree supernova is amazing so for us that can be the title track 😂

Fifty fifty had so much potential and they were honestly my favorite 4th gen group.I just literally loved everything about them.The members were so freaking talented ,Aran has probably one of the best tones in kpop (my opinion).It’s such a shame that it had to come to an end so quickly.I don’t care about the members that are going to replace them on September tbh .Im definitely boycotting

Unfortunately, boycotting attrakt won't bring ot4 back... I feel like the boycott has become more of a coping strategy for hunnies, it's not working, and it doesn't have a clear goal. All a successful boycott to the relaunch would do is damage Keena and the poor hopefuls. I think it's best just let it rest. However, i do maintain the stance that the Givers, in the end, are who destroyed fifty-fifty, and it's not as simple as just mistreatment from attrakts end.

If you genuinely want to boycott someone, you must do it regardless of the potential hurt it might cause the members. I never claimed it would bring back OT4, and many other Fifty Fifty fans feel the same. International fans need to be as determined as Koreans when boycotting a group. I don't dislike Keena or any of the new members, but if we truly want to make a difference, we must stop giving these companies opportunities. The international market is crucial for smaller groups, which is why a boycott could be very effective. Currently, it doesn't seem as impactful since the group hasn't had a comeback since the scandal. I refuse to support the harmful actions of another company.

I genuinely mean this when I say I love all of NMIXX song's. For me they are the #1 girl group of 4th gen with the only thing their lacking being popularity and "trendy" music. But the girls are so talented and I love their personalities and Im obsessed with their songs and performance! I saw them live on their Nice to Mixx You Tour and they are even better in person.

Their music is some of the best discography K-pop has to offer, there is so much to explore, there never a dull moment in LOONA’s music and if people enjoy deep complex lore storytelling+ Lost Loona Media then that’s just bonus points cause they are so mysterious yet so open lol😂

It’s crazy if you think about it cause all the members and units debuted in 3rd gen individually But as a full group of 12 they count as a 4th gen group And now they all count as 5th gen HeeJin has debuted the Most times Solo debut 2016 Loona 1/3 Unit Debut in 2017 These count for 3rd gen She debut in Loona as a whole on 2018 (4th Gen) She also debuted in the survival show Girls Revervse and was an Offical member of Feverse Then re-debuted as a Solist in 2023 (if that still counts as 4th?) Then with ARTMS in 2024 now in 5th gen So she technically debuted 6 different times (talk about a powerhouse lol) Yeojin debuted the least, the rest of the girls have about 4 under their belt (from Solos, to Units, to OT12 to Re-debut as a new group/ soloist) Yeojin sits at 3 cause she didn’t debut in any loona unit, so that only leaves her with 3 (solo, OT12 Debut and Loossemble)

Purple Kiss (i actually liked their more recent music less, they still haven't topped Zombie era for me, though Sweet Juice came pretty close) 2. (G)I-DLE (purely based on title tracks they'd be first, but i have to admit there's barely any b-sides i listen to regularly) 3. IVE (I've been obsessed with Accendio too!) 4. I watch these rankings just for fun... But in my opinion Nmixx will always be #1 gg of recent kpop gens. And i think Talent must be taken into account as well. But even apart from that.. contrarty to herd mentality... their music is actually really good! You'll get nmixx music only if you're able to overlook the hate train. My favourite group is gidle. Also you didn´t mention it but they also do a lot for kpop as well being the first successful self produced g. Soyeon is the first female idol to win both best producer and song writing. The only other prominent producer was IU. Also gidle is lgbtq+ friendly (oh my god, dahlia) and having songs with deep and important messages such as omg, nxde, tomboy, lion, allergy - queencard.

Purple kiss discography is one of the best imo but rbw keeps making the TT the second best or even the worse track on their album… for example pretty psycho>memem Icsd>nerdy(nerdy is good but can’t stop dreaming is soo good) bitter sweet/heart attack>> BBB. Those r only son of the song that I feel should’ve been the TT of their respective albums.

Even if you give trash music to aespa still they can make song heaven. Gidle has most meaningful songs in kpop. Itzy good dancers and stage presence needs Lia and jyp promoting their songs at time. Ive elegancy is really tripping through their songs. Loona well they bring great songs.

hot air ballon is great, i think i prefer drama but i definitely agree to an extent! i think it and yolo are severely overhated in the fandom but both are some of my aespa favs lol i think them having a more traditionally cute and fun girly side in their discography is important to their image and true to them as people outside of performances from what we've seen, and these songs have attracted new mys, my bestie isn't the biggest aespa stan but live my life has been top 2 by monthly listens since it came out for her

sad about billlie but they had a rough past year or so with 2 members being on hiatus (and i want to be clear i know rough is an understatement given that sua lost her brother), and i do think that impacted what they were able to do and promote (the ep they released with eunoia was the last really great thing imo). i'm hoping now that they're back to full strength they will start releasing good stuff again. also agree with nmixx!! i really couldn't stand their early stuff but i've been listening to the ep with dash on repeat. passionfruit is a top bside of the year for me! i have a hard time with itzy bc i feel like vocals are lacking with them, which is a big thing for me, title tracks are hit or miss (fwiw i am a sneakers enjoyer and mafia hater) and also jyp girl groups have a problem with having great title tracks and then the rest of the album is filler. before this year there was maybe 1 itzy bside that i enjoyed. nmixx is obviously not excluded from this from what i said above and neither is twice tbh. but i've been enjoying bsides from all three groups lately so hopefully that's indicative of a shift in musical direction from jyp. i enjoy g-idle's music but what really annoys me is that people will be like "oh listen to this g-idle song it's all about empowerment and xyz" and then i listen to it and it's... not that lol or at least not in a way that sets it apart from other gg music, and i feel like i'm being gaslit every time. i think i would be less frustrated with g-idle's stuff if we'd just enjoy it for what it is and stop ascribing profundity to it.
