In all fairness, as a pessimistic guy myself, nothing major's been happening with Planetside for a while. I've been wishing for this game to be made with modern tech and proper engine for a while. I don't see a company buying PS2 simply to milk it, it's not at a great spot and needs some love. The community is strong, and I'm sure whoever bought the license knows that.

Ohhh, AI! Wouldn't that be super cool? I remember years, and I mean years ago when there was small talk about factions teaming up for AI battles on Indar. If I remember correctly, it would be an alert style battle but all factions were fighting against (I believe someone said one massive enemy) AI. I believe it would just "happen" suddenly like when the warpgates swapped around the map surrounding the alert timing. I bet it would be chaotic to have a world boss spawn and you have to team up with your enemies to take it down!

If the AI researchers got a set of AI agents that can "deeply' play the game, team up between themselves and with humans, use the intercom chat and interact with humans without been noticed as AI agents .... Then, We can argue that The system is already in the path to become an AGI system... because it would be capable to "discern' multiple layers of discourse and functionality in different domains of existence...

Idk if they still have this, but my first experience with this game was on ps4 a long time ago. They had a beginner island. You could play there until level 20(i believe). I play on pc now and they don't have that, don't know if it ever did. That was the only time I was ever good at this game lol

All of this is very interesting, as an armor main it is fantastic to see them finally addressing the air to ground spam. I no longer feel hopeless against these players who chainpull hornet and wyrm esf's just to ruin the time of skilled armor players who outplayed them on the ground.

I was not aware that this outstanding game was sold again, just now when I could not login I read a post that it was sold for 6 mil , that is imo no problem if the game retains all of its mechanics. I mention this time and time again. I just played destiny 2 for example, when you reload and run the weapon wil not reload, that is such a step back from planetside 2!!! The game mechanics, e.g. everthing that the character does and how it feel is the best I have ever played in a game, that is what makes planetside 2 the best game ever. the shield is also one of the things that makes planetside 2 great, no blood, too. If Amazon would change anything about planeside the way it is now, then they would lose all their playerbase instantly, people know what is good and everything works now, you don't touch that if you want the maintain the title, best game ever. that is my opinion. After 11 years I still have this game on my nr1 spot of favorite game, change planeside 2 and i will instantly lose all affection for this game, I hope that is clear and I hope the rest of the players also are clear in this. Not all wine need water! That said, I am more than willing to spend more cash then I already have on this game if the game atleast stay the way it is if not better. I could drop another few hundred on it!

IDK how to actually feel on the purchase but I do still see a positive future for the game to get its playerbase back up quite a bit. Now if only can get MAX revives brought back and revive grenades nerfed that be some other good changes for the game, undoing a lot of what Wrel's team done to the game or as I say "Dewrel" it would already be a step in the right direction. We already seen the improvements in battles with the bases that had the CTF removed. As for the talk of a new facility I think a good idea would be to add in the old Interlink that was revealed on Hossin but never made it to live game, only needed a little touching up and it could have been a possible fun facility to fight at on Hossin. Possibly could add a couple more to other continents.

Things like these are quite usual and it happened before with games like Battlefield Heroes and Heroes and Generals, as well as movies and TV series on streaming platforms. After being bought, these games were canceled, allowing the company to benefit from a tax write-off. So it looks like this will happen to Planetside2 soon and I expect this game to die within the next months.

I really hope we see a grown ass big planetside game again. I really love this game but it has major flows for me as a seasoned fps gamer (i think many hard oriented fps gamers just left the game and its part of its population decline but not a big part) and the natural drop of players.. thats sad. But platenside is still an amazing and unique piece of gaming i really hope it will shine again someday. I kinda hoped for planetside 3 but people nowadays cant make games like that. Or it will weight 1000gigabytes and lag like crazy. I don't even want any modern graphics, planetside 2 or 3 just needs... restart of some kind to attract new players and make some big change so its a bit of a new game and leave everything that was good intact. Anyway, lets just hope. Platenside 2 is such a nice game that it cant just die like that

If Planetside 3 actually comes out, I'll eat my shoe, but I really don't believe that any company would take that risk unfortunately. In all likelihood Planetside 2 is probably gonna be put into maintenance mode and milked for all it's worth. 6 million is not a lot of money for a big corporation like Amazon. I'd be happy to be wrong though, but the signs really point to this being a quick grab to make a short-term return on their investment. Also, if Planetside 3 came out, would it really be as good as Planetside 2? This is Amazon games we're talking about, the guys that made New World, a failed MMO. Really, we should be hoping for a spiritual successor from a team that's actually passionate about games to take what was good about this game and compound on it. Hate to be doom and gloom about this, I love Planetside and have so many fond memories in my 1400 hours of playtime, but I'm just being realistic.

I never liked how DBR changed the game. Especially, features that exclude lone wolves, and, the last straw for me, sanctuary. Lore-wise, it turned from a war between insane immortals to arena battle sponsored by NS. I don't think PS2 can become great again - too many things must be removed (and lore retconned, for those that care). It's unreasonable to expect someone to do it. Now Planetisde 3...

Jeez you could run a Kickstarter and raise that kind of money to put it into the hands of the fans, then find someone willing to develop the game or if someone came forward and wanted to buy the rights if they were able to make a PS3 and make it legally binding , hire the original people who work on the engine and the game to teach the new devs how to work with it. And so far I've seen no news about this under the Daybreak Games website unless im missing something?

What I would like to see is the devs FIX bugs that have existed for years instead of wasting time making more new stuff no one asked for. I would like to see Esamir returned to its former glory, pre wrel. Like 2016 era or so. A restoration of old bases that were removed, un wrel the game in general. Stop nerfing things. Buff Magriders, they get 2 shot by Lightnings. It's pathetic, especially considering Vanguards and Prowlers are essentially immortal vs a Lightning. Fix infi cloaking, sometimes it glitches out. Fix drop pod beacons, they stay "up" after being killed. We don't need or want a PS3. The game is a great platform if the devs would fix things that are broken and revert back to some earlier map designs. I've recently started playing again because wrel is no longer there. He singlehandedly ruined several aspects of the game so much so that many of us quit playing it. The Esamir anti fun cloud was a big reason, glad it's gone. Also, it would be great if the game wasn't sold off every few years, it's been passed around more than a cucumber in a convent. For whoever owns the game now, please, PLEASE fix things and make the game more fun again. Let the continent be open fully regardless of population. Let there always be a continent open. Also, I'm digging the daily missions. It's nice. Once again, get rid of the stuff wrel messed up.
