I watched this video when it first came out having played PS2 only briefly before it and it didn't make any sense to me. But after defending a Bio Lab for a couple hours with no idea what to do, watching this video was really helpful!

SOE, I ususally am very cautious whenever a game comes out that is made by you, but I have to say...this game....is absolutely fanTAStic! I will play this until the zombie apocalyse...or until the servers go down, which ever comes first.

Yup, the proper term specific for the game would be to compromise the generator, stabalize the generator and repair the generator. That said in all other games would to set the bomb/defuse the bomb. It's no big deal. BTW the game looks awesome on his system.

Check the color of the spawn panel, if it was red then that means you can't spawn anything from it (in this case air vehicles) because a TR infiltrator hacked it. You can use the infiltrator class to re-hack it back.

I wish people ingame was as helpfull as you. I tried to ask my platoon how to shutdown those sheilds at the bio dome where the enermies came from. No one wanted to help me, even though i was a platoon. But that usual. I have yet to get anyone to help me in game :(. Makes the LoL community look like patient and helpful people. Properly the biggest draw for me

I've played PS2 for about 8 hours since it launched. Generators, Cap points, which generator corresponds to which shield is by far the most confusing part of the game.

no not forced. some vets probably don't want to be forced to do it and some people simply learn much much better actually doing the things or maybe they watched these videos. simply gives us a clear accessible yet optional tutorial at the beginning at give us the option to skip if we already know everything

Wow, in all this time I didn't know that infantry could still pass through those shields. Is that something new? I've always seen people crowding around the outside waiting for the shields to go down. Guess I should've at least tried running through!

Just picked up a lock on rocket launcher, i was lucky if 1 in 8 of my rockets actually connected. Then there's the fact that you need to hit twice to bring down even a mosquito so i think got maybe 2 or 3 aircraft kills in around 2 hours of play. The lock on range is really low, plus the reload time is high enough that liberators or galaxies wont die without many being fired and the small aircraft seem to be able to dodge them most of the time.

Do certain capture points take certain things inside the base? I was playing Vanu and a group of TR soldiers took only our airpad. We couldn't spawn our own stuff from it

Video narrator: I'm having trouble understanding quite a lot of what you're saying. when at around 2:00 you say "ok look at the tank shield -- if you are [one team or the other] and you want to [defend/push in] you have to go where the icon is" --- are you saying that these are the only points of ingress/egress for the base?

You say something wrong at 0:43 !!! This is not a vehicle shield, it is an infantry shield! The vehicle shield has a vehicle symbol on it, like at 1:38. If infantry like to get into this base to capture this base, it needs to destroy the gens and blow away these infantry shields.

I was gonna say... right off the start he mislabels the shield in the main room as being able to be passed through by enemy infantry... which is not true. Only the shields with the TANK symbol can be passed through by infantry. All other types block all access by enemies.

I know, but it's good job of them to "outsource" it to someone that's well liked and known for making quality content. Most devs/publishers would just choose one of their inhouse video-noobs to create some bad tutorial video with an uncharismatic voice that sounds like all joy in his life was drained away years and years ago.

You can't buy certifications with real money, you have to earn them in game (Yes, subscribers get them faster, but can't directly purchase them) The things you buy are generally side-grades, with a few exceptions, such as rocket-pods, skyguard, etc... None of the guns you can unlock are a super powerful, in fact, some are quite a bit weaker than the defaults. And how can it be 'pay to win' in a game that can't really be won? Anyone who can shoot can do just fine and have fun with the defaults.

It's so hard to find anything on the minimap even though my graphic settings are maxed out. I can't see the icons properly. It's so cluttered with symbols one on top of each other and the symbols aren't even clear. They are so small and fuzzy even when i press H to make the map a bit larger. Starting to hate this game.

Anthony Yeo rather than this all, you could just go and check minimum system requirements of planetside 2 .. compare the pc parts you have to see if they are capable of running the game .. also in pc world, new, old means nothing unless you specify way more than that .. like name of your gfx card, amount of vram it has etc

But the air to air lock ons. those are over powered. And you cannot dodge lock ons when your in an aircraft. only if you have flares you can avoid them.
