To anyone having trouble with this, and i don't recall him mentioning this. Rebind your Pitch up and down keys to something reachable. for example i have pitch up as Q and pitch down as E. That way when you're not fighting your sensitivity settings to do this properly. Hitting those buttons gives you maximum pitch immediatly

Thanks for pointing that out, had a good chuckle at it. What makes it even funnier as the camera comes back around (at 2:40 or so) you can see the Liberator is totally screwed.

Excellent maneuver, I always had an inkling that something like this was possible after I noticed it was easier to skim around the dome of biolabs using this sort of turn than the traditional method. Great video.

essentially you want to be pulling down on you mouse to use the pitch down to help swing your aircraft through the turn. If you're having trouble may I suggest binding pitch up/down to buttons, preferably thumb buttons on your mouse. That way you simply hold S, roll your craft on its side and then press A/D (essentially in the direction you wanted to turn before you rolled over) and hold pitch down. You still need to correct the roll as you come around but that's a good starting point

Wanted to send a quick thank you for your PS2 flight tutorials. Being fairly new to the game and extremely new to the flying aspect, these tutorials have helped me much in getting a jump on advanced flight. To make this easier, bind pitch down (and up) to am mouse or keyboard key, and use that for maximum pitching. This technique alone has greatly improved my uptime in the reaver.. Thx again!

For this turn you should be using your mouse to both roll and pitch. Roll onto your side, and basically pitch the nose of the aircraft down so that, were you level, you'd be doing quite a dive. That's the main force that's spinning the craft about, though the yaw (A or D key) helps things out a bit

The swinging motion is a kind of directional movement of the mouse. Depending on whether you have your flight controls inverted or not. Its more of a trial and error thing and it depends on your approach angle. Keep experimenting till you find the right movement as I'm sure it differs from person to person. I will see about having a mouse cam in the next videos, although I'm not sure whether it will be more of a hindrance than a help.

Just so you know, this move is VERY, VERY simple to do with a pitch up / pitch down keybind. Just turn your aircraft on its side and press your pitch down key. Done. Thats it. It gets even easier if you bid Q and E to roll left and roll right. Then, just press Q or E for a moment, which will evenly roll your aircraft, then press your pitch up or pitch down key for a moment. This will execute a perfect banking turn. easily.

I do have a curious question watching your video, I noticed when you practice the banking, it's always to the right, is this something you would say most flyers would stick to (banking to the right/left all the time) and if you anticipated it, would that still give an edge to the shooter?

It took me about 5-15 tries to get this, maybe 20. And I experienced the same problem with the aircraft turning toward the sky when you attempt to complete the turn. Ok so here is the position of your turn. You have slowed down. You are banked. Now when you go to press A or D the aircraft just turns upward. That's completely normal and I'm using the weaver. To remedy this tell your move your mouse down(if you're not inverted) that will complete the turn.

I haven't practiced this maneuver yet, but it looks like you you have to pitch down hard while you're banked over, then as you're completing the turn, you roll it to level out. Sounds like it would work perfectly with a mousebutton bound to pitch down.

Ok let me make this a little more understandable. When your aircraft is banked to the right. moving the mouse up turns the plane to the right. move the mouse down turns it left. So when you move it down it completes the turn as you will see if you do it in game

I learnt this from another video, I'm not entirely sure it's the same thing, since i can't do the reverse manuever straight after, yet it turns on the spot 180'. Looks like this to bank to the LEFT. 1. Roll to the right with your mouse. 2. Press and hold Space Bar. 3. Press and hold both A and D key 4. Pitch down (Preferably with a key bindid to pitch down to get a clean turn) 5. Hold this until you are turned where you want. To bank right, roll to the Left and hold D key.

Technically speaking, a VTOL Aircraft like a reaver, mosquito, or any of the PS2 aircraft, this is quite possible, though the engines don't move fast enough in the game animations to make it look so. The G-forces on the body would be pretty intense

Happy thet you are back. I'd like to see missle dodge. The lock on missles where eazy to dodge but they made the misses turn faster. I dit do it a few times whit the banking turn then turbo. But it dint work all the time.

Would you recommend racer airframe or the hover airframe on a reaver? I use the racer since the reaver has great vertical thrusters anyways but would u recommend the hover over that.

he should have started by having everyone keybind pitch up and pitch down... you should only ever be using your mouse for light turns and aiming a full kill turn should be done with your keybound pitch down it holds a perfect line and is the fastest turn possible also the fastest kill turn is done with decelerating and pitch down when you add vertical thrust it makes the turn take longer

REALLY useful video. Does Stability help this maneuver execute faster? I've been running dogfight performance. It seems like either performance could help this maneuver, but the hardest part is when my opposition responds with the reverse maneuver in your other video. Thusly lending Stability superior to Dogfighting, in a dogfight. Any input on which performance performs well all around, as opposed to just any one form of air combat? (Again, GREAT video, really helpful :3 ).

Clarification, and perhaps a video/picture in picture of your mouse/keyboard movements in the corner, might help future videos make more sense. For instance, I'm currently trying this but don't understand the 'swing your aircraft around with your mouse' bit and have nothing to reference. The only movement I can get out of my mouse is to make my aircraft roll or pitch up and down. I certainly don't want to roll and the pitching doesn't seem to swing me around, so I have no idea what to do.

I can do this, the issue I have is shooting down the enemy ESF AFTER facing them. What use is a reverse maneuver if you can't shoot them down after that.

@Teh Kky it sharpens the turn and elevates you. Once u turn the craft on it's side, the thrusters that a and d control are facing down. It sharpens the turn. Same purpose as the spacebar except the a and d ate esential. You weren't using this turn to its full potential. Listen to LMSTVx he knows what he's talking about.

I can do the first three steps fine but when it gets to pulling back the mouse on the fourth step I need a runway for my mouse. The issue is I can't up the sensitivity unless I want my esf to be rolling for days by the slight horizontal deviation of my mouse.

I have managed to do this in my scythe from a stand still but not while moving. What purposes do the A and D keys serve for this motion? I have managed to do it using only the S key and pitch down. I can do it with the A and D keys as well but I don't know what they are for. I still have to work on getting the timing right to do it after stalling my forward motion.

Doing this is my mossy feels very slow, I'm suspecting that it's mainly the braking speed of the default mossy though (from what I've seen it actually has the lowest braking speed of the 3). Can anyone perhaps confirm this or am I just doing something wrong here?
