Dear Nikki, thank you so much for being so real. I am still saying a prayer for you as you walk down this path of loss. Your music is so peaceful for me, and I have learned so much from you regarding being the Lady of the Home. I am not your usual demographic of subscriber. I am much older, retired and happily live alone with my pets. You can reach all ages and interest and make an impact in so many lives. I make my home a peaceful environment that reflects who I am. I have a Bible study in my home and I want it to represent love for Gods children and you have helped me. Thank you for not making your bed, for not getting dressed for showing us it’s is all OK.

Grief is so painful and it’s so personal. I just wanted to go somewhere like the mountains to sit alone with my thoughts when my daughter passed away in April 2020. Right at the beginning of Covid. It was a nightmare. I sought out God. That is how I found your channel, you quoted Bible verses. Since I was the executor, I was so busy I had no time to really grieve. Then when I did, I just sat, crying at night alone to think. It’s a journey, I did find writing my daughter letters helped. Take care & I am so sorry 😢 ~ Janet 😘

You are not being negative. You are IN the grieving process. Those who have allowed themselves to grieve can relate. 💗 It is an emotion you absolutely must experience and works through to move onward in your life.... Otherwise, you will stay trapped. I like to keep my wardrobe simple.... I would actually liked, nay, need more pieces. 🤣 when the cashiers literally recognize you by your dress, you might be in need of an update. 🤔 I have 2 " around the house" skirts and blouses, 2 " going to town" skirts and blouses. And then i have 2 blouses and wear with all 4 skirts. I love your colors and flowers.

What you are sharing is so healthy. Please don't listen to any negative comments about "coming to you to be cheered up." This is real life and we all go through it. God bless you in your mourning. And I really agree with your decision to take away the things in your wardrobe that are not serving you right now. I have done that before and I have found it to be an incredible relief to open my closet and have it be full of only things that I want and am happy to wear. It's draining to continually be seeing really pretty dresses that you spent good money on, reproaching you because you are not wearing them. It's the same thing as I said before about turing your house into an idol and you end up serving it instead of it serving you and your family. Your clothes can do the same thing. They serve you, not the other way around, so it's nice to get the ones that are pulling on you and reproaching you out of your sight. It doesn't mean that they are gone forever, but especially right now, you just don't need that.

Great video. Very authentic and I can relate. Whenever that mood creeps in I rest, i allow myself to do nothing. Then I go buy myself a couple of favorite magazines or get some beautiful decor books from the library and enjoy browsing. I bake, I chat with my kids who make me laugh, i journal, I’ve been writing Psalms. I’ve also been listening to Revive Our Hearts podcasts. ❤️ Hope this is encouraging to someone. Every new day comes with just the perfect amount of grace that is needed.

I sincerely enjoyed this video and I have always enjoyed the music you have selected for all of your videos. Life is filled with unhappiness, pain and grief. Which is why your statement of surrounding yourself with beauty will resound in the majority of your viewers. We must also make an effort in our daily lives to seek the beauty that surrounds us. It could be a butterfly we see in the morning on our way to work, the smile of a stranger when you hold the door open for them, the warm embrace of a friend that you happen to bump into at a store. The moment we start to appreciate the wonderful little things in life, the easier it will be for you to see God’s hand in all things that are beautiful.

Thanks for the video. I deal with negative a lot right now. I work in daycare and with staffing issues, an elderly mom, husband and home and no real end to the overtime at work and no solutions to the problems. Plus it's gloomy Ohio in the winter the negative gets to me. I'm with you on doing little things. It does make a difference in my house and my attitude. I may not have time or energy to tackle big things but I can take 5 minutes and put away laundry or empty and fill the dishwasher and it does help the mood. And there are weekend days where it's ok to walk around in my PJs and robe and rest. Finding and giving yourself grace, that the situation your in is not what you want but God has a plan and he is hope and so much more.

Hello Nikki, Pushing through to clean up and make breakfast was a big accomplishment after the emotionally exhausting day you had the day before that. Attending Bible study was a lot, too; go easy on yourself. Your contemplative music is beautiful and reflects your videos beautifully. Is the tray on the oval table in front of your couch new? Wow, just exquisite! I am ruthless with decluttering when in a mournful situation and being honest about those items does help me accomplish something essential. All the best to you and your listeners, hugs, Julie 🌷

My son, my only child died in 2018. It was devastating .. still is. I suppose it always will be. I don't know if I would qualify the natural response of grief as negative, however, it changes you. The day after my son died I was in rehearsal.. I was numb.. but I pressed on.. It felt like my legs were encased in cement.. but I kept going. I decided to live my best life because my son was no longer able to live his life. Some may think that is heartless, but I know the joy my son had when he knew I was happy. He loved to make me laugh.. I loved his sense of the ridiculous and his amazing mind. When I start feeling negative.. I can hear him say". MOM, stay in the Light" ( I don't really hear him.. but it's my way of keeping myself from sinking into despair) I know he is in a better place and his sorrows are over and for that I am grateful. Dearest Nikki. You're so lovely. I send you and your family my deepest condolences.. Cry when you need to.. but continue your journey of bringing beauty to this world.

Dear Nikki, thank you for sharing this, for your transparency in a sensitive, fragile season of life. I am going through something similar after losing my dear teenaged son a week before last Christmas... I can relate to feelings of negativity and being uninspired - even though the grace of God is carrying and streghtening us in those moments of deep sorrow, and even fills our heart with joy that is anchored in His love and promises. Finding beauty in creation is the number one thing for me right now. Early morning walks in the forest nearby or just a couple of minutes breathing fresh air in the garden helps me lift my eyes on Him again. And to know that there is so much beauty and goodness in life lived in His love - both in this world and in eternity. Lots of blessings to you and your family. His love will never fail ❤

When I thought about what you're going through with grief, when you walked into your room with the camera, my first thought was, "If that was me, I would probably crawl into the bed if I was in that mood." I've been there, and my wardrobe is also a good place for me to go when I feel like that. It's something I can bring order to and something I can control. So I guess it made me feel like I wasn't the only one when I saw you crawl into the bed at the end. I pray you will have better days and light will shine in your heart again.

Taking rest is a good thing. Our bodies tell us what it needs. I love Dawn @theminimalmom . I know she’s often said she doesn’t really care about fashion and the lack of making a decision about what she’s wearing has been beneficial in this season in her life. IMO everyone can use minimalism. I think when we purchase and bring in more than we need it causes an ongoing burden. Having less gives us more time to spend with our families, serving others, and we are able to do the things that really matter. Not to mention it saves money. I often feel I’m a better steward of the money the Lord provides. And someone can always use my discarded things. I know it’s a relief, Nikki to go through your closet!

That’s so interesting how music affects everybody differently. I get it. You’ve only had one video that had super upbeat section, but it was a little too much because I had a headache that day ha ha. I don’t find your music melancholy, I find it peaceful and a place to shut my mind off. Which is practically impossible! I think the more I’ve become practiced at presence, and just being comfortable in the space of the moment, what formerly felt melancholy simply feels reflective. I love the music you choose

Embark on something that will nurture you and bring you serenity, peace & happiness; prepare your body to catch up with the new mindset. Go through the phases of physical & psychological changes prepared. Make some adjustments to your daily routine that may be causing you more stress now. Changes in diet & exercises will help and of course the clothing one wears. If it helps to lessen the fuss involved with getting ready then do it. There's no reason why daily wear cant be comfortable & stylish. It doesn't mean this will be forever. This is to help transition or heal from pain or sorrow. Sometimes our actions are based on what we think it should be and miss out on real life. Take 3 minute moments throughout the day alone and do what makes you happy. If it is a cup of tea, reading your bible, looking at artwork then do it. These baby steps help build your strengths back up. 💛💙💜

My way to replace negativity is taking pen and write something or grab a pencil to draw/ scribble.

I may have missed a video, or been so wrapped up in my own grief that I didn’t realise you had also suffered a major loss. Dear, sweet Nikki, I’m so sorry to hear about your sister’s passing. I hope you stayed in bed for a good while, sometimes rest and retreat is exactly what is needed. Sending you love and prayers that whatever will comfort and heal you most at this time is abundant and available and that you allow yourself to receive it, Lord willing. Big hugs Nikki x

You may know this already Nikki but, I want to share that grieving is a process with a lot of changing emotions. Grieving is said to take a year. A year that brings changing stages that leads to the final stage of acceptance. It is a very uncomfortable time. It’s important to be easy on your self as much as possible. You will know what is best during this time.

with that beautiful clock ... I would put a slightly larger framed mirror behind it ....with maybe a small votive pink glass candle holder... so you could get a glimpse of the back of the clock detail

Yes, the back is so lovely. When I was a Michael's the other day I noticed they now have several in stock!

Hi Nikki, You inspire your viewers with your honesty. The clock from Michael's is beautiful and I'm hoping to find it. Nikki, what was the name of the video where you showed the Kate Spade dome shaped purse? I think that purse was beautiful and thinking of buying one for my daughter.

Thank you Linda! I'm not sure of the specific name of the purse unfortunately.

The world itself feels heavy, let alone when you've just lost someone you love. It's okay to have some time to adjust and have those feelings. For me nature lifts me up. I am blessed to live in a beautiful mountain valley where nature is everywhere. All I have to do is look out a window and see the sky, the mountains and trees. In regards to your music, I love it. I don't really feel that it makes me sad, but I do like a melancholy sound, for some reason. A personal question , how many siblings to do have. I had only heard you mention your brother and a sister that taught you how to paint roses. I pray you are feeling better now since it has been a few days since you made the video. Love and prayers to you sweet lady.
