The Fjords is one of best holidays we've ever had! If you get chance, do the sky lift in Olden...it was unreal. The company is literally just as you get off the ship and really reasonably priced. Really worth it! Have the best time! ❤ Xx

I’m from Southampton and there’s a wonderful pub /brewery 5 minutes from the Holiday inn . It’s called the Dancing Man brewery and is set in a medieval merchants building . Right up your street guys !😊

I sail on April 27th (1 week to go 😁) so excited now ! I m sure you ll have a fantastic time 😊 definitely recommend driving down the day before ( unless travelling on the coach ) there s plenty in Southampton to do , Westquay is a great place , lots of choices to eat/drink there 😊 Cruising is fantastic 😀

I have been really looking forward to hearing your plans. The car parking in Southampton for P&O was really good when we did it. We have sailed Disney and P&O and we loved both but the entertainment on the Disney one wasnt really for us. The river cruise sounds fun. We did Alesund on our Norway trip and it was so pretty! You are going to love it!! xx

We’ll be on the Virtuoso leaving Southampton on the 11 th as well to go up to Lerwick and over to Norway, as you know already, we are doing the river cruise at Kristiansund, the Flam railway at Flam, but not booked anything for Haugesund, playing that one by ear. So if you see a mad Cornish woman waving to you from the Virtuoso it will be me in Southampton 😂😂😂😂.

Hope you both love it. We were on Iona a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. You mentioned possibly going to some of the talks. We had the writer Phil Mealey and he did two and was outstanding. Sindhu restaurant is different class. We had the classic drinks package at £40 a day (discounted to this as pre booked). Look forward to seeing how you get on and what you think of it all 👍

Hi, sounds like a great itinerary!!! We cruise quite a lot and get sea sick a lot !! It's radical but the only thing that works for us is the sea sickness injection from the on board doctor!!!! We ve tried sea bands, tablets, ginger,all sorts, You have to pay for the injection but we claim the cost of it back from our travel insurance! Honestly it's the only way to feel better in a couple of hours! Don't suffer just tell them you can't keep anything down, they may try and fob you off with tablets which for us don't work !!! Hopefully you will have calm seas , we did on the same cruise a few years ago ❤ Enjoy, can't wait to see how you get on x

Thanks, we'll bear that in mind if we feel any seasickness. I'm quietly hopeful we'll be just fine! Really looking forward to the whole cruise experience!

We go a week after you on the same cruise, although we do go to alesund , we go to Kristiansand instead. We're so excited! We've already booked Sindhu and the beach house 😊

We didn't bother with formal night either, life is too short to wear formal clothing whilst on Holiday (it isn't the 1920's). The Hoven Skylift definitely book yourself! When at the top make your way directly to the Hoven bar, fabulous beer, fabulous views! I am sure that you have seen the website, if not there is a webcam on it which gives you an idea of the views. The Iona is lovely, we didnt feel any movement on the ship, which is just as well as I do feel seasickness!

Gem has been watching that skylift webcam and giving me daily updates! I've had previous with seasickness, but only on small boats in rough seas so I think I'll be fine.

Hi, I'll be following your trip with great interest because our first cruise was to the fjords some years ago with P&O and we became hooked! We were on Iona two weeks ago and while I thought it was very stable a family on board did get sea sick and bought tablets from reception that actually worked! I asked what brand and they said Avomine which cost a fraction of the price on land so if you are worried perhaps get them from Boots before you go? Have a great cruise :)

That's a great tip thanks, gem was planning on getting some seasick medication just in case but really useful to have a good one suggested.
