Hi Anthony, I think your right with the fruit fly. I had an early attack back in late Sept / Oct but since I've come back from Europe there has been none. Let's hope they're gone for the year. Great video as usual. Cheers mate. 😃😃

Another enjoyable and informative video. I put netting over my tomatoes a week ago in anticipation for Fruit fly none here on the far south coast yet, but I pulled the netting back to do some maintenance the yesterday and found green caterpillars on a couple of plants.

Hi Anthony. I made the same mistake, different plants. It's the first time I grew Jade Beans and they were too close to my Capsicums. There is always next year! BTW, great capsicums. I just harvested my first black russian tomato. Such a large and great flavour tomato. Been looking forward to this for a long time. YUM!

Anthony your chicks are so beautiful and mum looks so proud, it's nice to see them running around learning about nature. Your capsicum plants are looking really nice, that's a good size for yellow's I generally find they are a bit smaller than the red's. Jacqui

Thanks Jacqui, yeah i figured that the yellow caps dont get as big. Really excited about having chicks around again. Just need to make sure they dont ruin the patch! 🙂

Hey mate Have you ever thought about digging up your capsicum and over wintering them?

Qfly has shown up over here in Perth again mate. For the ninth time now I think. Luckily I'm not in the affected zones. I feel for the people that have to rip up all their plants according to the authorities. Your veggie garden is looking lush as mate, well done👍

I hope they get on top of them before they spread mate. They are a nightmare to control.

Great vid Anthony. I am trying bush cucumbers this year and growing them in front of indeterminate tomatoes. My thinking is they won't shade out the tomatoes. I am also trying a pumpkin in a different bed in front of tomatoes, it will shade the soil and not shade the tomatoes. Trying to mix it up in my beds. See what works. Maximize the space.

Thanks for the video Anthony - I'm in hospital unexpectedly & you've cheered me right up! Fancy a quick trip down to Melbourne to look after my place for me? 😁😎😁

Thanks for your advice Anthony I’ve taken it all on. Just one question, do you remove the suckers from tomatoes like different gardeners do, I haven’t seen you do it. I don’t know what to do remove them or don’t remove them, very confusing. I’m in Melbourne.

You never REST your beds?
@alisonburgess345
@alisonburgess345 5 күн бұрын
No, you shouldn't - that's an old concept these days. You should have things growing in your soil all the time - the plants through their roots support the microbes in the soil. Apply lots of compost, keep the moisture level reasonable and go, go, go..

I personally don’t. Generally I like to plant as soon as the last crop is finished though I always add more manures and amendments before planting. At most I have rested a section of bed say 2-3 weeks more because I don’t have time to plant or I am waiting for seedlings to be ready. I drive my garden to maximise output so I am constantly planting
