Jane, tip from Chef AJ...Once you get the main amount of material out of your food processor, put it back on and the blade will spin clean. You could save your tovolo from the blade.

Haha i expect to get shouted down here, but i dont agree. Just my personal preference but i REALLY would rather have the cold modern expansive kitchens in neutral colours with empty benchtops! : ) That's my dream! But what have i had all my life? A homey cozy "old fashioned" too small kitchen w/ red floral canisters, a purple toaster, blue kettle, yellow coffee cups & cluttered benchtops. Sigh. Oh well. Maybe 1 day? lol

yeah but what about in my blender? i dont have a food processor & i hate that vitamix blade doesnt come out. why cant they make an EJECT button where the blade is removable? i dont mind the cleaning cos it IS easy using the vitamix method. I make a similar recipe but I use date/fig/prune paste instead of maple syrup and organic PB powder instead of walnuts. I always keep the skins on the sweet potatoes, too, so don't worry about peeling them! If you don't have sweet potato, feel free to substitute acorn or butternut squash. The recipe is very adaptable... I've also used hemp seeds for a creamy texture and extra protein. It's a great pre- or post-workout snack!
@blk31184 жыл бұрын
alwayaneed2learn, would you be willing to share your recipe, please?
@alwaysneed2learn8064 жыл бұрын
@@blk3118 I'm embarrassed to say that I rarely measure ANYTHING. I've been cooking/baking from scratch for so long that I know visually and texturally if something is "right." However, I'd say it's a mix of 1/2 acorn or butternut squash with 2 (skin on) Japanese Sweet Potato/Stokes (purple)/Jewel and/or Garnet potatoes. I add a Tbsp.or so of PB powder, about 1/2 c. raw cacao powder, 1/3 c (ish) date/fig/prune puree and 1/4 c hemp seeds. After blending well, I manually fold in ground chia/flaxseeds to thicken it. Tastes better when cooled overnight. I serve over a bean/lentil and grain bowl that I cook like oatmeal and garnished with celery/coleslaw and fresh berries!

Easy cleaning of the blade is to scoop out most of the stuff in the processor and then put the lid back on, turn on the processor and whiz the blade again for just a few seconds. The spinning motion pulls the excess off the blade and to the sides. So you can take the clean blade out and then scrape the rest. You don’t want to waste any of that goodness!

Save your kitchen tools from the blade by scooping out the majority of the food staying away from the blades, then spin the blade one more time so all the food whips off the blade to the sides -- then you can remove the nearly clean blade and swipe the sides of the processor with the scraper / spatula / tovalo / spoon to get the last of the food.
