I’m vegetarian, Indian. I look and feel 20 yrs younger. I exercise regularly. Especially weightlifting. Prob with my cousins and all isn’t that they’re vegetarians. They’ve always been that. And all our elders have been super humans, working in d field. It’s just our gen is adapting all d bad habits of d west. Like sedentary jobs/lifestyle. Eating packaged food. Taking car everywhere, instead of walking. Drinking tea/coffee with sugar, like none before us ever did. Just d few teaspoons of sugar per day for decades since ur teenage years is enough to give u diabetes in ur 30s. I don’t drink that drug, and control my sugar a lot. Meat has absolutely nothing to do with their bad habits. If they just fixed those and went back to basics, and not waste their money on western junk, they’d b golden. I’m a living proof

I have an elderly friend from India, who now has kidney falure, and T2Diabetes, he is now completly on insulin. He's trying to recover his kidney health, yet because of his beliefs he refuses to eat meat, and replaces it with plant proteins, instead... His body has problem with CARBS, not with lack of proteins, despite plant sources being very poor quality and poor amino acids profile. If he truly does not want to listen to reason and start eating meat there is also vegetarian keto possible. At least helped me at start, later of course carnivore was even much better. He should dump carbs and at least eat a lot of eggs and low carb diary. Would give him tremendous improvement of health. But as I understand from your post he is stoned into lifelong junk food industry and big pharma lies, hardly would listen even to this.

My husband is from India, he has significantly decreased his carb intake and increased his meat intake since I’ve been carnivore. Then he visited his family in India a few months ago and his mom freaked out and was so angry at him for eating so much meat, ranting about it being unhealthy & so she then forbade the servant from providing meat in his meals. She has diabetes, is overweight, and has gone blind. His father also had diabetes. His 100% vegetarian relative has been bedridden for over a year and is suffering terribly. They are going to be very upset the next time I go to India. My husband hasn’t told them yet that I’m carnivore.

The ironic part is that ancient Hindu writings praise meat, ghee, and other animal foods as the best for human health. And traditionally, meat was particulalry recommended for the sick, pregnant, and elderly. Vegetarianism was a small part of Indian culture, mostly limited to some Brahmins, until British colonialism enforced a meat tax. The idealization of a vegetarian diet for evryone was reaction to this political oppression.

The British Raj imposed vegetarianism through measures such as a meat tax and by promoting the belief that cows are sacred, which discouraged their slaughter. This tactic contributed to their ability to maintain control over India for an extended period. Ruling elites often prefer to limit the population's meat consumption, as undernourished people are easier to control. Even today, some European countries are considering implementing a meat tax.

I remember as a young medical registrar in south wales one of our local curry house waiters presented with complete heart block, post MI and I inserted a temporary pacemaker. The man was 40, and despite the pacemaker he died later that weekend. I remember noting his cloudy serum in his blood tests, and I discussed his case with my colleagues. At the time (mid 80s) cholesterol took the blame for everything (a bit like now!) and the general opinion was because of the poor man’s unhealthy high fat diet, particularly coconut oil, which is so high in saturated fats. Looking back I suspect that he died because of his high carb diet, and his 40 a day habit as well.

Any spice that is seed drop it. If you do want to eat with some heat perhaps remove the seeds from ripened red chilies, so you are only eating some for flavor. I personally think mild peppers are better and used in during cooking meat. When i say ripened because when the fruit (which chilies are a fruit of plant) is ripened and ready to be plucked the plant remove its toxins to make it attractive for the animals and bugs to eat. If you have a garden perhaps you can grow some peppers yourself or buy from someone who grow peppers. Australia is pretty good for having sheep. I am Indian too but living in Dubai, UAE.

Happy to hear the "carnivore" voice in an Indian context. I'm a fan of Dr. Chaffee and am humbled by the revelatory science he is delivering(along with the other proponents of the carnivore lifestyle). I've been omnivore (and a happy meat-eater) for long, but was induced into the low-carb/keto philosophy for some time. I'm type 2 diabetic and had intermittent success managing it with the keto/low-carb techniques. Listening Dr. chaffee, the evolutionary logic of a carnivore lifestyle seems so obvious. I am predominantly carnivore now and see my numbers becoming better. My home state, Kerala, is one of the most meat-friendly states in the country. Happy to be here. The biggest challenge this science will face in India is the glorification of a vegetarian lifestyle. This lifestyle, though practised only by a minuscule minority, has been promoted and elevated as healthy and as a social good. There are also political and cultural considerations that work against eating meat. I tire of recommending the carnivore diet to family and friends. Now, I am just happy to make sure that my family enjoys the best nutrition available. My kids are also taking it well and showing visible signals of good health (the glow!). Keep spreading the best, Dr. Chaffee.💐 And kudos to Dr. Verma. 👍

I fast developed severe allergies towards all the soy products and most of the nuts and seeds and allthough I tried to eat in a recommended way: full grains, lentils, pulses, healthy oils etc. I was allways tired, felt sluggish and was underweight. In the end I added oily fish and organic eggs to my diet and dropped all the grains and pulses off - I still eat lots of raw and cooked veggies, cause I like them - and I got my life back. So I have been living like this for almost 30 years now and never going back to being vegan.

Whilst the damage done by eating a high seed oil and sugar diet can be significant, we cannot ignore the affect of the recent gene therapy injections on cancer and heart attacks in young people. If a 17 year old has a heart attack today, my first though is the injections, not metabolic syndrome. Please people, even if you had them, now we understand the dangers and the side effects, please don't have any more. Highly processed injections are no different to highly processed foods, the human body has an amazing ability to self heal if we let it do what it's designed to do and feed it what it's designed to eat.

That’s because they eat way too many carbs. I mean in the Muslim areas in India there is more meat consumption, but in the Hindu areas it’s mostly vegetarian and wheat and so on.. Also there was a recent study done on Indian spices and most were found to have tons of pesticides in them. It’s the Hindu religion that restricts people from eating meat for good health. My friends who are Swami Narayan won’t even think of touching chicken on fish, eggs as a minimum, forget beef, lamb, mutton and so on. A lot of my Sikh friends are the same.

Even though you might not be eating meat, if you are eating oily food, lots of white rice, white flour instead of wholemeal, sugar and fried processed foods that can all lead to diabetes. Eating low fat good quality meat, the protein helps to regulate your blood sugar levels. Which means you crave less process carbs. You get B12 more in your diet. Sometimes a keto meal a day and give your body a break from carbs works wonders.

Yep, I have a lot of Indian friends and the health of them and their families are horrible. I used to attribute it to just coming from a second world society, but now know it's the diet. No way will they be convinced to eat meat. I only know one that eats meat somewhat sparingly, and he is chastised by other Indians for doing so. A lot of their veggie food is what I would call junk food too. So much of it is fried in vegetable oil and full of sugar.

I think that religious views on diet have contributed to the bad health of billions of people. If 'God' forbids eating meat, people follow blindly. I spoke to a Christian friend this week who asked me (this person has T2D and has had major cardiac surgery and his wife is very overweight), if God made all these veggies and fruit, how can they be bad? I said God didn't make them, man did. He laughed at me. Oh, well ....

The main problem of India is not plant based diet but eating too much in an untimely manner and inactivity. Here food is entertainment, not medicine. Junk fried in cheap oil and marinated in dubious sauces make a major part of young people's diet whose only idea of socialising is eating together. I have seen hardcore carnivorous communities in India that are grappling with high rates of cardiac diseases, diabetese and arthritis. HIgh quality organic vegetarian food consisting of green leafy vegetables is missing from the Indian platter.

I'm from India and this is for Dr Ankur: 1. Correlation is Not Equal to Causation @29:00 (@Inverse relation point). 2. India/Indians are not sick because they are vegetarian but because we started consuming Western Advocated diets & seed oils that causes inflammation and other S**** in the body. Our previous generations from Grandfather era & before lived from age of 80s-100s without Medical support and in conditions of poor hospitals & hygiene and still lived well atleast till in 70-80s and here in our Gen with all the high tech Medical support from childhood & 5 Star Hospitals we barely make it till 70 and becoming ill in 30s. 3. According to some research Indians have tendency to gain belly fat & store more and that's how their Genetics have adapted coz of the 700-1000s of years under the foreign Invaders causing so many famines under their rule including the British. 4. Indians in our Grandparents era used to Drink A2 Cow milk which had no or little issues of Lactose Intolerance but its when Western Cows were brought here (supposedly to be better like the seed oil theory) we started becoming Lactose Intolerant and with higher inflammation in body. 5. Indians original grain like Khapli variety had 50 times lesser size of gluten in it but when we got modified grains from the west we started seeing all the Gluten issues and inflammations. 6. Carnivore diet could be good/fabulous .. I have no experience in it and I have a neutral stance in this regard. P.S - I am also an omnivore and I enjoy the taste of it but I believe if we can have unadulterated, organic, free of pesticide with original Indian born variety then we wont be standing at the statistics that is being presented in this discussion. Leaving this video @34:00 so not sure if these things get discussed later in the video.
@vineetsansi
@vineetsansi 21 күн бұрын
7. To add to it - Indians in previous Generations never used to eat so much Wheat as there was lot of use of millets like Bajra, jowar etc and they are Gluten free. 8. The Vegetarian diet we have now in India is West Corporates inspired Marketed diets that we are eating. We are stuck in cycle of first eating sickening western Veg diet and then going to Medical support and become their cash cow for rest of the life. 9. Indian Kids & their parents nowadays don't even know the names of vegetables and millets & the food that used to be eaten in previous generations. 10. Previous Indian Generations didn't have issues of using cancer causing Pesticides which west gave us. 11. Microplastics & Plastics found in Arteries, testies and causing inflammation in body is also west innovation.

Thank you, Dr. Chaffee, for inviting Dr. Ankur Verma on your program. As a second generation Indian, living in America, I appreciate this. For anyone who wants a real world example of the long term consequences of a plant based diet, on a widespread population level, look no further than India. Its a metabolic nightmare, and they have the highest percentage of vegetarians anywhere in the world. Yet, their diabetes rates are out of control and only getting worse. My father and mother only ate paltry amounts of meat. Most of their diet was plant based, replete with rice, naan, roti, lentils and assortment of other plant based fare. My father died of complications from diabetes and my mother is currently enduring the ravages of diabetes. Most of their fellow India friends are suffering or have suffered the same fate.
